Yevgeny Erofeev in the courtroom in Kiev: "At the time of the detention by the Ukrainian side, I was a fighter of the LPR People’s Police"
The Russians deny their guilt on the charges brought by Ukrainian prosecutors. From the statement of Yevgeny Yerofeyev in the Goloseevsky court of Kiev:
During the court hearing, Yerofeev stated that his testimony that he was a regular officer of the GRU General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces was given under pressure. He feared for his life. Now Yevgeny Yerofeyev during the trial notes that at the time of the detention by the Ukrainian military in the conflict zone, he was a fighter of the people's militia of the Lugansk People’s Republic.
It should be recalled that during the investigation of the case of Aleksandrov and Yerofeyev, several incidents that attracted attention took place at once. Most of them are associated with the line of protection of the Russians. In particular, the lawyer of Alexander Alexandrov, Yuri Grabovsky, was killed. Another incident was an incendiary bottle, which unknown persons threw out of the window of the judge’s office, Nikolai Didyk, who is considering the criminal case.
In the courtroom, the process is monitored by the Russian consul in Kiev, Alexei Gruby.
