Britain decided to double the assistance it provides to the Ukrainian military, reports RIA News Statement by the Minister for British Armed Forces Penny Modant at a briefing in Kiev.
“The UK has decided to double the aid. In addition, we will continue to provide advice. This is also provided for by the Memorandum on Defense signed today, which opens up for us a number of new opportunities, new projects. And we look forward to the start of these projects ”,
Modant said.
However, she stressed that "the UK is committed to helping Ukraine both in the short and long term."
The Minister noted that her visit is "evidence of solidarity with Ukraine."
“We feel pride in Ukraine and for the changes that have occurred recently. This pride is formed by our politicians who are closely following the events in Ukraine. This pride is passed on to our military, whom we send here, who, in close cooperation with the Ukrainian military, side by side, assist them in the preparation process. ”- declared Modant.
According to her, one of the elements of assistance provided is “participation in the process of preparing and training servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine”.
Yesterday, the British Minister and the head of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine signed a memorandum on cooperation in the field of defense.
