Syrian military sources have reported that the government forces of the SAR and the militia took control of the key dominant height of the city of Palmyra (Tadmor). We are talking about the height 939.5 (it is - "nine hundred") on the ridge of Haya. After that, the resistance of the terrorists visibly diminished, since the government forces had the opportunity to attack the positions of the militants from several heights near the city.
ISIS militants were eliminated both at the very height of 939.5 and in one of the gorges where the command post of the so-called Islamic State was located.

As a result of successful offensive operations, the Syrian government army and militia forces defeated several IS groups west of ancient Palmyra. Reported by the information service Al-Masdar News and the correspondent Lays Fadel. As a result of the special operation, several pickups of militants were destroyed, equipped with anti-aircraft guns and large-caliber machine guns.
Meanwhile, the ISIL militants in one of their accounts in social networks spread a statement that “a Russian military adviser was killed” in the Palmyra area. For ethical reasons, "VO" does not publish a photo of the body of the victim. In addition, information about the death of the "Russian military adviser" is not confirmed in the Defense Ministry of the Russian Federation.
