Honey, I killed two children and you
It was a shock! Shock. To the adoptive father in the state of Washington took and easily shot two Russian children! It happened in a rural area, not far from an American town, where five people lived quite safely: a mother, a father, and their three adopted children. Two teenage boys from Russia and a twelve-year-old girl from China. Their home was in a fairly remote area. Did the neighbors notice oddities in father behavior? Yes, noticed. Once a dad was taken to the hospital and treated for a long time, and then they prescribed a drug course to go through at home. So he drank medicine. The police assumes that it was under the influence of drugs that the man took a gun and first killed his wife, and then two boys. The girl rushed to escape and was able to escape.
Later, strange information began to appear on the lines of news agencies. The US State Department refused to confirm or deny the data on the affiliation of children in Russia. Neighbors witnesses claimed that teenage boys spoke Russian in between.
It is surprising that after the incident, the US authorities do not confirm or deny information about the terrible tragedy. No official reaction from the US Department of State, although at least 24 hours have passed since the incident. Washington also did not provide any information about the dead children. This has already become a “tradition”: for example, the murder of the adopted child Ilya Kargyntsev (in the USA he was called Isaac Jonathan Dykstra) in 2005, the American authorities only informed the Russian side six years later. All this time, carefully concealing the course and circumstances of the crime.
However, this time the US news agency turned out to be much truer and more agile than the officials and reported on the tragedy that took place on Thursday evening, February 25, 2016. It was then that the neighbors heard the shots. But the killer called the police only on Friday, just then the police heard a male voice over the phone that said he killed his family. Representatives of the order immediately left the scene of the incident and tried for an hour to persuade the murderer to fold weapon. Finally, he went out onto the porch of the house. The police were glad that they could take the criminal alive, but he shot himself. Killed on the spot.
What weapons were in the house, what brand - not reported. Also little is known about the identity of the unfortunate dead teenage boys.
Already, the deputies of the State Duma of the Russian Federation have found out that, it turns out, there was a change of adopters during the adoption. That is, they wanted to take one person, and instead of them two teenagers got completely different people. It happened before or after the adoption of the law "Dima Yakovlev", it remains to be clarified. And then you will have to conduct at least a harsh investigation on the territory of Russia. And the fact that the case is already taking a very complicated turn becomes clear from the reports of information sources.
It is impossible to understand the first thing that comes to mind: why do we give our children to insane citizens from other countries? The murder of two children from Russia once again makes for indignation just to suffocate and try to take a different look at what happens with the system of adoption of children both in Russia and abroad.
A similar case occurred in the 1998 year. Twins Anatoly and Yana Kolenda in 1998 were killed by an American adoptive father who shot their mother and committed suicide.
A radical change in the relationship between foreign adoptive parents and Russian orphans occurred after a blatantly tragic incident when an American adoptive father left Dima Yakovlev in a car in a terrible sun season. The boy choked.
It was then that the Russian authorities reacted toughly to the situation. The famous law was passed today. Officially, it is called as follows: the federal law “On Measures to Influence Persons Involved in Violations of Fundamental Human Rights and Freedoms, Rights and Freedoms of Citizens of the Russian Federation”. Unofficially, the law was named “Dima Yakovlev”.
Since the beginning of the discussion and after the adoption of the above law, from January 1 2013, many supporters of the more free procedure for adopting Russian children have tried and are trying to challenge him. Numerous newspapers and journalists were especially indignant, some of them compared the actions of the Russian authorities with rabies. In part, this was a reaction of the so-called international mediators, who had considerable incomes in the process of finding potential adoptive parents and orphans.
In the process of discussing the law itself and after its adoption, public figures did not let up and raised a real tantrum. A typical example is when one of the musicians refused to play in the orchestra of Yuri Bashmet because the latter supported “the law of Dima Yakovlev”. Pop musician Makarevich and others like him, who were notorious for their latest performances, tried to persuade the president to allow several orphans to go to America, who were already able to meet their potential parents.
According to official data, 19 orphaned children died at the hands of adoptive parents in America, in Russia itself there are slightly fewer dead, 12 people (data may be different, depending on the year). This is a terrible statistic. And each case requires a detailed investigation and unconditional punishment.
It is surprising more. Let's look at the system of punishments of Russian and American justice in relation to citizens who have committed the most serious crime.
Only one year of punishment was received by an American foster mother who killed a three-year-old girl from Russia. Ten years later were adopted by foster parents who killed the seven-year-old Viktor Tulimov. The American adoptive mother was acquitted for the death of his one-year-old son Sergey Nakonechny. Two years conditionally received an American for the murder of two-year-old Jessica Albina Hadman, a Russian girl.
In Russia, murderers of children are given terms incomparable with liberal American justice. Nineteen years of the colony received his father, who inflicted deadly beatings on juvenile Ana Shkaptsova in a drunken stupor.
A much longer term (23 of the year) was given to Valery Shabalin, who, trying to reassure a two-year-old who was capricious, hit him with a hammer.
The last statement by Russian President Vladimir Putin regarding the repeal of the law "Dima Yakovlev", says that the president of the country is still right in his determination to defend the rights and freedoms of Russian children, two of whom have once again been deprived of life in the United States.
Since the adoption of the law, passions in Russian society have ceased. And here, with all the evidence, it became clear that Russia was still right in its desire to halt the outgoing flow of children to America. And this rightness, unfortunately, was confirmed by tragedy when two teenage boys were killed.
Of course, the issue of adoption of children and their upbringing was one of the most difficult. In Russia, people, including orphans, were taken out of besieged Leningrad by trainloads. Echelons arrived at the stations of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and other southern republics of the USSR. The question of the placement of children was solved literally in a few hours: local residents took the children to their families, according to the principle “where there are three, there is a fourth food there”. After the war, many children returned to Leningrad, and many wished to remain in their new foster families.
Today there is no war, but the feeling is that it is still there. No one left indifferent story baby from the city of Obninsk, which in January 2015, the cat saved. Everyone admired the fluffy savior, pitied the kid, abandoned by his mother in the cold staircase. It’s still easy for us to decide: who is right and who is guilty, labeling, blaming.
In this connection, I remember the lines of one of the poems of our countrywoman, a mother with a capital letter Roza Areshkina: “Do not cry, son, it happens that mothers throw their children ...” I remember the first time I heard them at “Don Evenings”, a frequent guest of which is Rosa Alekseevna. The audience loved her work, do not leave anyone indifferent her poems about children, especially foster. But most of all, the poem about the little boy, who cried when he asked why his mother had left him, ran into the memory.
Indeed, it happens. A child who cannot withstand all the difficulties of life turns out to be the faithful and abandoned closest person he loves. But let's look at this situation from different angles. Yes, the main purpose of a woman is the birth of a child. But, alas, today many consider that it is to them to nothing, and abortions are quietly performed. But this is a murder if not yet born, but already a little man. Even the most malicious killer or rapist is simply deprived of his liberty, even for life. But do not deprive of life: in our country, a moratorium on the death penalty. And this baby, who has not yet been born and has not done anything bad, as well as good, because he was not given a chance to live, to love, to make his discoveries, his mistakes and achievements, to create, to breathe — what for? Just because you, kid, hinder the enjoyment of life, make a career. Just you - once.
There are those who refuse children in the hospital. Yes, it seems to us cruel to the child, but at least he got at least a chance to live. Small, but a chance to become happy, to find a new loving family. Still others who suffer from the evils of drunkenness or drug addiction cannot simply be physically and morally parents, since they have lost their human appearance. The pain and fear of a deep wound fall in the heart of every such child who has lost parents. Every person has a need to love, to make happy the one you love, the need to care, to rejoice with your loved one. But instead, for some reason, people dress in “the shell of loneliness”, inventing their own rules of life and the limits of permissiveness of the manifestation of feelings.
How do we need examples of human nobility, sincerity, love and friendship!
In the children's department of the district hospital, the boy Slavik lives. Mom refused him, and now the medical staff of the children's department - nurses and nurses - takes care of him. Slavik is already ten months old, and he really needs a mother. Many people are afraid to take such children into their family, believing that the “refusalists” are the children of alcoholics and immoral personalities, and when they grow up, they will also become the same, they say, genes, heredity. In defense, I can say that no one will guarantee that their children will grow up in prosperous families - not alcoholics and not drug addicts. Anything happens in life, and quite often adopted children love their parents even more than their own children. After all, only those who have experienced the bitterness of loss with their hearts know the value of real feelings.
In Rostov-on-Don, there is a woman who was able to raise the orphans of 75 to their feet. This is a huge work, little studied and not particularly advertised by anyone. True, with the exception of ceremonial events. The opening of this family-run children's home in the village of Rassvet of the Rostov Region took place in the heavy 90-s.
Few people believed that Tatyana Vasilievna Sorokina and her husband Mikhail would be able to raise and learn not only their two daughters, but also their two adopted sons. And over time, everything added to them and new little tenants were added. They found in this house affection and warmth surprisingly good, generous and at the same time strict mothers.
However, the network of family orphanages in the Rostov region was not widely used. Tatiana Vasilievna’s example is only one of many negative results. In the Rostov Region, however, as throughout Russia, state-run orphanages are the main social institutions for solving the problems of children left for various reasons without parents. And close and distant relatives, the state represented by the tutorship and guardianship bodies could not entrust such an important function as parenting.
In 90-s also appeared the system of the Cossack cadet education. One after another, the cadet corps began to appear, based on the same principle of orphanage education practiced in Soviet times.
So far, the society has not invented other forms of supervision over the orphans. Perhaps there were other forms.
Foster families are becoming frequent in our day. The state provides great financial support to such families. But no amount of money compares with the warmth of love that children sincerely share with their new parents. In many eastern, very poor countries, there are no orphanages and shelters. There, children are the greatest value, so if for some reason a child is left without parents, his family will surely take him away, raise him and raise him as his own.
This is happening in Russia. This does not happen in the United States. Two teenage boys will never grow up. For these ruined lives, the tough, state response of the country must again prepare.
