This year, an experimental version of the Ural-VV armored car will appear for the needs of the Russian Defense Ministry

The head of the Research Center for Automotive Technology at the Central Research Institute of the Russian Defense Ministry, Colonel Andrei Koltukov, reports that in the current (2016) year a prototype of an Ural-VV armored vehicle will be created for the needs of the main defense department - the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. It should be recalled that initially “Ural-VV” was intended exclusively for the needs of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.

This year, an experimental version of the Ural-VV armored car will appear for the needs of the Russian Defense Ministry

RIA News cites Colonel Koltukov’s statement:
The automobile plant "Ural" received a technical assignment for this car from the ministry. It is planned to make minor improvements in accordance with the requirements of the department - in particular, to establish a system of collective protection, etc. After working out the documentation process, work will begin on the production of a prototype. We expect that the car will be ready this year.

This year, a comprehensive test of the armored car will be carried out on the possibility of equipping the Ural-VV with various types of weapons.

The vehicle with wheel formula 6х6 is designed for the transport of personnel. The protection is made of material that resists destruction by shrapnel, bullets fired from small weapons certain species. In addition, the machine has mine protection.

In addition to transporting personnel, the Ural-VV can be used as an ambulance or command-staff vehicle. There are options for its use for freight (the maximum mass of cargo carried - 3 tons). At the same time, the maximum speed that Ural-BB is capable of developing is about 90 km / h. The mass of the armored car is 18,5 t, the number of seats is up to 15.

I wonder whose car the MO will choose. The KAMAZ variant is also not bad. By the way, the Urals are similar to the South African armored car.

It is encouraging that tilt cars are being replaced by armored troops, and this is the concern for our defenders.

As far as I understand, KamAZ trucks are for the delivery of infantry along the roads to combat zones with the enemy army, and the Urals for direct participation in hostilities against bandit formations. Hence the characteristics and features of the "architecture".

... Comrades, do not confuse OCD ... for Typhoon, everything has been said for a long time, Typhoon K and Typhoon U, both go into trial operation in the troops ... the article describes the Ural VV, based on the "Ural-4320" it is a simpler machine , without hydraulic suspension and other "sweets" Typhoon ... most likely will replace the chassis of communication centers, RTR, RTV, KShM, which are not armored at all, at the level of a brigade, division and a lot of auxiliary equipment ... hi

Kamaz has no analogue. Typhoons at least 3-4 times more expensive.

But here’s how the Yarovtsi chassis came to grips; the Ural engine; the yamz box is also a mechanic with no independent suspensions with variable ground clearance; this car should go with the pusher if the battery is covered, therefore the electronics are also damaged and repaired on the knee.

If something is 3-4 times more expensive, then 10% of this amount is 3-4 times more in absolute terms. And as in that joke says: "What ... recoilless guns?" So there is no alternative to Typhoons, thank God. lol

But can you not be unfounded? The Ural car was created in parallel with the Kamaz car just as an analogue (there are enough articles on the Internet). By the way, "Typhoons" are both (both KAMAZ and Ural cars). And what about the price, what is this statement based on?

Ural-BB - 10 million rubles. (price for 2014 of the year):

Also, this price is indicated in the article "Armored vehicles", Autoreview No. 24,2013.

"According to unofficial information, the cost of the KAMAZ Typhoon is one million euros! Given that the American MRAP costs an average of 500-600 thousand dollars, and even taking into account additional protection and electronic equipment - a little more than a million, again, dollars, not euros."

I would not choose which car, but would do everything the country's proposed designers. There are few armored vehicles in the country and there are clearly not enough armored vehicles. Kamaz’s capacity is not enough to provide the country with armored cars. We do not even supply them to Syria, there are so few of them and the Syrians themselves sheathe their trucks with armor.

Armored vehicles of the Typhoon family at the moment tested in our troops. From what lyad we should deliver them to the Syrians? They, I think, are now much more important offensive weapons and shells (than we help them).

All these armor plates suffer from one drawback in the winter. There is no closet in the back of the toilet type toilet. How do you imagine this process? Everyone should stop, for this or in large numbers all scatter through the bushes, reducing the combat readiness and survival of the company? Before designing the model, the designers should throw the Arctic Circle for a month and let them design there.

It’s necessary to carry a toilet, a pool, and a car salon with prostitutes on the trailer, otherwise absolutely all fighters at this age, well, I really want to, at least howl, well, there are no women on the front lines and the company will scatter before the fight in search of women, having lost combat readiness.

But it is more dangerous that suppliers do not do anything to change something with this situation.

Indeed, why do such machines need a frame? When there is an armored body, which can be a carrier, while the height and weight of the car is significantly reduced. But the very promotion of the idea of armored army transport vehicles cannot but rejoice. Moreover, it is precisely in this regard that many countries are ahead of us.

The Urals for the device is simpler than KAMAZ for the engine in electrics and an ordinary fighter will cope faster with a breakdown. And the Ural’s terrain is best - checked by the Siberian sun, swamps, and in the snow (depth). But the KAMAZ’s best driving vision is no snout but 2 meters of life is not like in the Urals.

let me object ... about the ordinary soldier and breakdowns. in my opinion, it’s time to end with the garage wars with equipment. equipment, especially military, should be extremely reliable. These delays, squirrels and some kind of mother should go to naught. If the Russian army claims to be one of the strongest. Ideally, the equipment should be serviced by professionals, and on planned maintenance work. If the equipment on the battlefield breaks without damage to the battlefield, then no matter how easily it is repaired, it is very unpleasant and dangerous.
