The target for "Boreev" will serve "Dmitry Donskoy"

According to information provided by the newspaper "Izvestia", the submarine of the project "Typhoon" will remain in the lists of the Navy weapons operating submarines.

The Typhoon submarine is currently one of the largest in the world, the decision to write off these submarines arose due to the lack of missiles for combat operations, since the P-39 modification missiles made for them were removed from combat duty. in 2000 year. Since the decision to redesign these submarines into subglacial gas carriers and trucks was canceled, the general director of Sevmash Andrei Dyachkov suggested using one of them, that is, Dmitry Donskoy, as a living target for the new Boreev.

Explaining this choice, Andrei Dyachkov noted: “Some of the tasks performed during the tests cannot be replaced with mock-ups. "Dmitry Donskoy" will be the target for checking the sonar station, checking the entire range of weapons. At the moment, for the operation of "boat by boat" are used combat boats from the North fleet».

The headquarters of the Navy commented on this statement to Izvestia, that this is a very expensive project and requires an informed decision.

The representative of the fleet headquarters expressed his opinion: “The cost of maintaining the Typhoon submarine in a floating state (they simply did not sink and did not explode) costs the treasury about 300 million rubles annually. In this case, "Dmitry Donskoy", being the only one among all on the go, eats up most of the amount. The remaining 2 boats have been waiting to be scrapped for 10 years. A boat without rockets is just a saucepan, if Sevmash has a desire to use them somehow, let them be kind and contain them. ”

Sevmash responds by saying that the maintenance of Dmitry Donskoy is the responsibility of the Navy, as this is their property. The representative of the plant said: “We do not even have elementary conditions for the parking of submarines, there is no infrastructure, suitable mooring wall, electricity supply, steam supply, drainage, and so on. When ordering a fleet, these works, of course, will be performed, but, of course, for money. There are no such offers at the moment. ”

Izvestia also asked this question to other representatives of Sevmash: “This decision came as a result of hopelessness. We have been building it for twenty years, we have improved it and now we are being offered to use it for scrap. Of course, we are not talking about the resumption of the release of P-39 type missiles, but you can simply work out systems of other types of submarines! Even the newest hydroacoustics complex, Irtysh-Amphora-B, which is in service with Boreev, is only a modernized modification of the digital system Skat-3, which was used on Dmitry Donskoy. Thus, “Donskoy” is an irreparable loss for the bridgehead of the Dolgoruky’s hydroacoustics specialists. Only Boreas themselves are better than them, but in this case they will have to be distracted from their trials. ”

As previously assumed, Typhoon was supposed to serve as an underwater truck, delivering various goods to the northern ports throughout the year. When calculating this method of delivery was not cost-effective and decided to refuse it. In the end, all three boats of the current project, including Severstal and Arkhangelsk, with the mine converted into Bulava, were decided to be disposed of.

The crew of TK-208, which wears the Donskoy, will be reduced from 2012 to 160 military personnel at the beginning of 70. He will wait for recycling in Severodvinsk, with Arkhangelsk standing nearby.

The new missile system "Bulava" was upgraded under the "Dmitry Donskoy" in the 2000-ies. In one of his mines, manufactured under the P-39 type rocket, a launching cup of a new Bulava type was built in. True, of the fourteen launches, only six were successful, the last of which was released on October 29th of the year 2010.

A strategic nuclear missile cruiser, the heaviest existing one belonging to the 941 project (code "Shark", according to NATO classification - "Typhoon"), is entered in the Guinness Book of Records. A light steel case has two horizontal 7,2 m cases inside, each of which is divided into 8 compartments. Between them there are three strongest modules: the central post, the stern and the bow, with torpedo tubes in the amount of six pieces, caliber 533 mm.

Having such a complete set, “Typhoon” up to six months can be at a depth of up to 400 m, moving at a speed of 27 nodes (50 km / h). A total of 6 submarines of this type have been launched since 1976. Observing the agreement of the Russian-American program “Joint Reduction of Threats”, three of them have already been utilized.

Keeping it not a pocket, but placing nuclear weapons on it now, is like putting eggs in one basket, every exit of the 941 Shark project boats was closely monitored by NATO. Unfortunately, they no longer meet the current level of submarine camouflage, so in the first place they would be hit !!! And to use them as a platform for cruise missiles is very expensive, since in reality they can only be used against the United States

          Duplicate your koment:
"The creation of the R-39 complex with the characteristics that were laid down in the TK was too costly even for the USSR (largely due to the inferiority of the TK), the SRC created a rocket at a low technological level (compared to the D5), due to the backwardness in the field of non-destructive This resulted in the creation of a monstrous carrier (let me remind you that the increase in the cost of manufacturing from the size and weight of the TTRD does not occur linearly, but exponentially), under which it was necessary to make nuclear submarines with unprecedented design solutions, weighed down many problems, such as colossal money in construction and during operation, noise, a huge heat footprint. All this was also aggravated by the restructuring of the coastal infrastructure, in particular, 120 ton cranes are needed to load missiles into the mines, of which 2 were built and the condition of which at the moment does not stand up to criticism.
The general conclusion, even the operation of the remaining nuclear submarines, is costing Russia enormous money, which can be directed in a different direction with much greater benefit.

When will you already learn to look at the problem in a complex, trying to avoid the hackneyed cliches imposed by the media that are not clean on hand ?????

      really only such an exit.

Of course, why they need such a powerful boat, they themselves are afraid of it. Brilliant Soviet designers created such a boat that our modern leaders are even afraid to put it in operation. Why should they disturb the pendos. It is better to buy modern furniture and a couple of Lincoln for the ministry, and to shoot the boat as a target. And no problem. Judah !!!

Ridiculous as it sounds "excuses" about the profitability and unprofitableness of the boat. Are VOs self-sufficient? So much money and effort to invest in a unique technology. And in a couple of years we will read articles about the existence of such giants! .. "the best".
Most likely, there is no desire to think and seek outs ...
humanly very sorry for the submarine .. No.

You can always find a way out. If their brains are not enough, they could declare an open competition for the best idea of using a boat.

As an option, it can be converted into a research submarine, as a carrier of Mir-type deep-sea vehicles. A kind of aircraft carrier of depth and abyss. Or under the space communications ship, instead of "Queen" and "Gagarin". I am sure that there will be more fruitful ideas. You just need to throw a broad cry and not be ashamed of your departmental blinkering.

The first to determine the uselessness of "Typhoons" by R.M. Gorbachev. She, accompanied by her husband, arriving on the deck of the Atomic Submarine Heavy Missile Cruiser, first of all asked: the commander of the ship "What can you do?" He replied that he would send the British Isles to the seabed with a whole salvo and destroy several other European states along the way. Mrs. Gorbacheva turned to her husband: "Misha, we do not need such boats! We are not going to destroy anyone and will not destroy anyone!" (DEFINITIONAL fragment of the program "Vremya" about the stay of M.S. Gordachev on a visit at the base of the submariners of the Northern Fleet)
That’s why the project on alterations into gas carriers or transporters did not go through - this is the implementation of the epostasy of the basic project No. 941 — an underwater landing ship on the marine corps battalion. In general, the logic is amazing (its complete absence) - they stopped the production of rockets
/ right, the Makeyevites were practically dispersed / and they were gone, and only then it turned out that the contents were expensive and that they were hidden. Actually, her place is under the ice. And it is obliged to guard at least one multi-purpose submarine. It is necessary to somehow justify yet another deflection in front of the puppeteers, and here weave the bride that ...

I agree! Why flog a fever and immediately cut! Iowa Pindos don’t write off and upgrade or put into conservation if something happens that can be quickly put into operation again, there is no bad technique there are cases of improper use, and there is such a word as Modernization about the mismatch of the time boat (noisiness, etc.) .
PS we dohren what sawed, but now it turned out that we need to rebuild.
And about the application, the Japanese built large submarines in World War 2 (submarine aircraft carriers and landing ships), and here a real underwater mastodon is a reason to think ...

Well, what a fairy tale! Who is afraid of her? You at least read what they wrote to you. For example, Comrade Varnaga. The boat has long been outdated, and at the time of commissioning it was inferior in noise to the best SSBNs.

It makes no sense. Where to use? Against a strong adversary, it’s not Ohio, stealth is low. Against Bananostan, it’s expensive. Against such countries, you can have CDs on cheaper platforms. And we (and to us) have no complaints from such countries. We are not a "world policeman".
