After the first arrests, new ones followed. In total, 12 people were arrested.
The police and the FBI during the negotiations with the protesters said that they should put weapon (and these are mainly hunting rifles) and free up the territory of the sanctuary, as they “impede the execution of federal legislation”. It is reported by the news agency Rider.
Several people decided to stop the protest, but at least four preferred to protest to the end. Then the American DEMOCRACY entered the business: armored cars and additional police units with the support of the FBI special forces began to move into the reserve. Oregon farmers using their own radio station transmit the latest news from the scene. In one of the news reports it is noted that the FBI officers have equipped sniper positions, from where it can at any moment be opened fire on those who decided to protect the land of their family from its transfer to federal property.
One of the protesters says that there is a high probability of the use of tear gas from the American security forces, after which they will storm the administration building of the sanctuary, in which the remaining farmers are to protest.
Rallies in support of protesting local farmers are held in the cities of the state.
