“The holding supplied the Mi-171E helicopter with a luxury cabin to the Government of the Republic of Uganda. The helicopter was handed over as part of the execution of the contract concluded by the Rosoboronexport special exporter in 2015, ”the release says.

A feature of this machine is a high-comfort salon based on 12 passengers.

“It has armchairs with leather upholstery and comfortable furniture made of precious wood. Improved noise and vibration isolation, a modern multimedia system with widescreen displays and numerous audio speakers significantly increase flight comfort. Household livability is provided by a wardrobe, buffet, toilet and luggage compartment. The convenience of embarking and disembarking is enhanced by installing hinged doors-ladders with steps, ”said the company.

The helicopter is equipped with modern navigation equipment.

“Adaptation of instruments in the cockpit for the use of night-vision goggles will increase flight safety at night. Also, in order to improve safety, a helicopter has an early warning system of proximity to the ground, which promptly notifies the crew of a dangerous approach to an obstacle, the ground or water to prevent an accident, ”the message says.

For a long time I have been tormented by the question: why do all American helicopters have a chassis in the form of a slide, and we have wheels?

The chassis in the form of a sled is only for small-class helicopters, the others also have wheeled ones.

It’s easier for Americans to equip a landing pad, for Russians it is easier to fasten the chassis.

I like such news no less than news about the armament of the RF Armed Forces. After all, the export of high-tech products (generally any products) is good - this is an influx of financial resources from abroad. I think it is necessary to expand the market and increase production for export.

PS I wish our country switched to the export of products (any, even weapons) and got rid of its dependence on oil - oh dreams ...

Presidential: I don’t know if the president of Uganda is a good person, but his helicopter will be excellent.
P.S. The leaders of neighboring countries will also want this. The Mi helicopters themselves are good for foreign customers. And there is plenty of valuable wood species. We are always glad to cooperate with African partners. They are great guys and pay in currency. And this is not the first VIP-board that we supply to Uganda.

In, I remembered! About the Mi-24, this is what the story was recently:
        Dec 11th, 2015
The Ugandan newspaper "The Independent" in the article "Uganda in chopper saga again" published by Haggai Matsiko on December 7, 2015 reports that the UN Group on South Sudan is investigating the facts of the secret delivery of weapons and military equipment acquired from Russia by Uganda to the South Sudan government, including four combat helicopters Mi-24.
According to the newspaper, the weapons were purchased by the Ugandan government under a $ 170 million loan from a Russian bank [presumably VTB]. Earlier it was reported that in February 2015, the Ugandan Ministry of Finance received approval from the parliamentary committee for the economy and finance of the country of a loan in the "Russian bank" of data of $ 170 million (484,5 billion Ugandan shillings) for the purchase of a secret from Rosoboronexport. military equipment.
Apparently, virtually all (or most) of the weapons purchased under this loan were intended for the government of South Sudan, which was actively supported by Uganda in the fight against rebels and against Sudan. This weapon included four Mi-24 helicopters (versions Mi-24V and Mi-24K), spotted in August 2015 at the airport in the capital of South Sudan, Juba, and bearing the identification marks of the government People's Army for the Liberation of Sudan (SPLA). Earlier in South Sudan there were no Mi-24 helicopters.
Formally, there is no international arms embargo on South Sudan, but within the framework of the UN government’s peace agreements with the rebels concluded on August 26, 2015, all parties to the South Sudan conflict pledged to refrain from acquiring weapons. In recent years, the UN Group on South Sudan has been actively exerting pressure on all South Sudanese parties and neighboring countries in order to reduce the amount of weapons that fall into South Sudan.http://bmpd.livejournal.com/1620482.html

Worked with these guys who brought these helicopters to VIP status. Worked on the Cuban IL-96 for Fidel. Our leaders, and especially Putin, with a toilet bowl coated with titanium nitride, should learn from him: the airplane’s interior is designed as a designer — everything is installed and removed in the same way with modules. Fidel needs to fly somewhere - they brought in the vip cabin modules and flew in comfort, and so the plane is used for the needs of local airlines with regular passenger seats installed. Practical and functional.

Not safe, in terms of if someone will fly, except for the president, because can lay something during the flight. Check the interior of course, but the human factor is not excluded.
