The 790 Fighter Order of the Kutuzov, 3rd class, an aviation regiment, Hotilovo Air Base - part of 1: Flights

23
Report on the visit of the Khotilovo airbase and the 790 th Fighter Regiment. I start the report with the flight. Unfortunately, I was able to take off even a long, but only one flight, the rest (including night ones) were planned rather late. I had to be content with the available.

The formation of the 790th IAP began after the defense of Odessa on October 20, 1941 on the basis of the 69th fighter aviation regiment. In March 1942, the unit became known as the 790th Fighter aviation regiment". In early August 1945, the regiment was relocated to the Shchuchin airfield in the Grodno region. In April 1952, the regiment was placed at the disposal of the commander of fighter aircraft air defense and relocated to the Tver (Kalinin) region at the Khotilovo airfield. The regiment entered the Moscow air defense system.

In 2009, in connection with the transition to the new look of the Armed Forces of Russia, the 611 th Fighter Aviation Regiment, based at the Dorokhovo airfield in the Tver region, was disbanded. Part of the 611-IAP was included in the 790-th aviation regiment, in which the 3 aviation squadron with Su-27 aircraft was formed.

Currently, the 790 Fighter Aviation Regiment is called the Aviation Group of the 7000 Guards Borisov Pomeranian twice Red Banner Order of the Suvorov Aviation Base (1 discharge), although I will still use the old division name in the report, it is more known.

The current composition of the 790-IAP includes three air squadrons: 1 AE on MiG-31, 2 AE on MiG-31 and presumably one MiG-25PU, 3 AE on Su-27 and Su-27UB.

The photos are good, it's a pity only they do not reflect the work of IAS specialists in preparing aircraft for flights.
This is how it actually is, unnoticed, not marked with titles and awards, the service of technicians, "black bone" aviation, in contrast to the "white" - pilots.
No offense to the engineers and technicians of the IAS, to the "black bone", himself from it, a former technician of the Air Force aircraft.

Good photos, interesting to see, but it is a pity that there is little on the history of the regiment.

At a moment around the glass with plasticine, or something stuck. smileIn general, it’s better not to remove our equipment in the vicinity, it’s normal from far away, but it is not necessary at point blank range.

It’s scary to shoot their technique point blank. If without Photoshop and not for window dressing. She is shabby too.

Before you write such nonsense about plasticine, think about it. The plane flies in super sound. And the fact that the paint is worn does not mean that the plane is bad. In general, it would not be bad for you to go on flights. I assure you that your opinion is cardinal will change for the better.

Indeed, the view is unsightly. Previously, when replacing glasses, the sealant was applied only from the inside, and now also from the outside. Apparently, the cabin is "poisoning", I had to cover it up.

... with plate, .. What kind of animal is this? In fact, this is a sealant corresponding to the specifications for the manufacture of this product, but not "plastin".

I live in Vyshny Volchok. Less than an hour by train to Bologoe. 40 minutes. Fly constantly. Moreover, in the city (Vyshny Volochek) many people appeared in flight uniforms. Sometimes, the infections fly so low that the plastic windows tremble))). In general, well done guys !!!

Good day, Jaros81! I am also from Volochok. I live near the hospital. Once one "Drying" threw out such tricks - the people went out into the street! And his (the pilot, in the sense) wife gave birth. You have not seen this at an air show! Eagles, oklmn!

aha, old stuff. We are gradually modernizing. And this "junk" is still in the teeth. And some democratic faces are begging for themselves.
As for the "tow", in the second photo sr-71, such a junction is terrible, and nothing flies (al) with a cruising M = 2.8 It would be interesting to look at the shape of the shock wave from the nose.
