QBZ 95 automatic rifle - designed for use in the Chinese armed forces as a personal weapon. The assault rifle is also known as the 95 TYPE.

History QBZ 95.

In 80 years of the last century, the military department opens a program to create a domestic patron with a small recoil impulse and, accordingly, designing weapons with its use.
Chuck Chinese experts have developed 5.8х42-mm, he received the name "DBP87".
According to the developers, the cartridge surpasses the 5.56 × 45-mm, 5.45-X39-mm cartridges in basic shooting characteristics. Chambered designed "TYPE 87", which is a modernized version of "TYPE 56" with some changes to improve the accuracy of firing. "TYPE 56" - a licensed copy of the Kalashnikov.
Automatic machines and machine guns "TYPE 87" were produced in limited quantities and entered service with a number of special units.
The first mass weapon using a new low-impact ammunition was a sniper rifle "TYPE 88". The QBU 88 was produced using the bullpup layout. "TYPE 88" was a good solution, based on it began to develop automatic weapons, one of which is the assault rifle "QBZ-95".
After a series of successful tests in 95, the QBZ-95 BB enters into service in China’s armed forces. In public, an assault rifle appeared in 1997 after the return of Hong Kong to Chinese control, then the Chinese garrison of Hong Kong was fully armed with ShV QBZ-95.

The main components of QBZ-95.

"TYPE 95" replaced the outdated machine "TYPE 81", which is a modernized AK-47 with a caliber of ammunition 7.62x39-mm.
The rifle is a fully automatic weapon, with a shortened piston stroke.
The butterfly valve completely closes the barrel on three stops. Above, on the receiver, under the holding handle, is located the cocking handle. Thanks to the trigger mechanism based on USM AK-47, the rifle can conduct both single and automatic shooting. The shooting selection translator itself is located on the right side of the rifle on the rear part of the rifle case.
The order of shooting selection modes remained unchanged and corresponds to the order of selection of the Kalashnikov assault rifle, which is not quite typical for modern automatic assault rifles. As with the AK, an additional choice of firing in a small burst of three rounds remained.
The receiver box is made of aluminum alloys, the body of the rifle is made of durable plastic.
Based on the bullpup layout, there is a magazine with cartridges behind the shooting control stick. The final, rear side serves to support the shoulder when firing.
The weapon is not suitable for left-handers - the window for ejection of the sleeves is located on the right side of the rifle, and is very close to the human head, when changing hands of a left-handed person, the ejection of the sleeves will occur right in the face.

Present on the rifle is such a modern approach as a fixed handle for moving weapons, it also has a rear sight with adjustable positions. The control stick and the shooting production bracket are made of one component with a plastic case, and the enlarged part of the bracket plays the role of an additional support for the left hand.
Power rifle identical to the Kalashnikov, the store has a capacity in 30 cartridges.
Included with the rifle is a bayonet, a belt for moving weapons and a cleaning kit for servicing an assault rifle.
QBZ-95 Ball Stitch Attachments: Day Sight, Night Sight, Under Grenade Launcher (QLG91B 35-mm caliber, LG2 and LG1 40-mm caliber) and Riot Gun (TYPE B) 38-mm caliber for police operations using special ammunition guns with special guns Riot Gun (TYPE B) XNUMX-mm caliber for police operations using special ammunition guns with special guns of special guns with special guns (XYNXX-mm for X-mm caliber XNUMX-mm caliber gun)
It is also possible to use for shooting rifle grenades that can be put on the rifle barrel.

Modifications ШВ QBZ-95:

- The basic model QBZ-95;
- The short barrel model QBZ-95B is designed for special forces and the Chinese Navy;
- the QBB-95 LSW light machine gun is designed with an elongated, heavier barrel, and has increased rates of fire rate. Magazine in the form of a drum with a capacity of 75 or 100 cartridges;

    It seems that they insistently suggest that the Kalashnikov assault rifle is completely sucks, that even those are necessary. that is, to hand over in scrap metal and safely stay with the drekol ...
    I honestly have a poor idea of how to shoot with a telescopic sight on the run, especially. if the enemy froze in place ...

      The AK automation itself is not a fig, it’s not suitable for the mass army.
      BUT, the quality of production, both of the barrels themselves and of the ammunition, fell very much - hence satisfactory accuracy indicators. IMHO quite grounded claim to ergonomics.
      That is, if in the new machine change (improve):
      - production quality
      - improve ergonomics
      - make a new cartridge based on 7.62x39
      - not to the detriment of reliability “increase accuracy”
      get the BEST mobilization trunk in the world.

      And for specialists to make a "pumped" version for a more effective cartridge!

      There are different sights) a good collimator copes with this task.

        Normul, in principle, the current still had a three-chamber muzzle brake and a cutoff of 3 rounds would be gorgeous.

          On the AK-103-3 there is a cutoff of three, so the problem is solved. The question of necessity is only controversial. We were taught at the firing line to cut off the time with the word "22")))

        the cartridge is much more important than the lineup. and 5,45x39 and 7,62x39 are inferior to the new NATO 6,8x43. nothing is heard about domestic new developments.

          I tell you to make a NEW CARTRIDGE in dimensions 7.62x39! - So that you could shoot with "old" cartridges if you wanted ...
          And to take a new (different caliber) MASS cartridge is an Achtung.
          In general, you need to work on the caseless. All of these 6.5x39 Grendel and 6.8x43 Remigton SPC interim solutions.
          They and Pindos do not accept (as they work on LSAT). Only specialists privately use it.

      Automation QBZ-95 is largely copied from SVD, the barrel is locked by turning the bolt by three combat stops, the gas vent mechanism has a piston with a short stroke. In the end, it is clear that the Chinese simply copied Soviet weapons again, simply packed them in a new wrapper.

    The Type 03 assault rifle (Chinese designation QBZ-03) is a direct competitor to the relatively new Type 95 / QBZ-95 assault rifle that has been in service with the PLA since the late 90s of the last century. For some reason, which was not covered in the press, the QBZ-95 assault rifle, made in the bullpup layout, did not satisfy the Chinese military, and the Type 03 assault rifle was born under the same new 5.8mm caliber cartridge, but with a traditional layout.

    Type 87 experimental machine, which served as the forerunner of Type 03 machine

    Type 03 (QBZ-03) assault rifle with bayonet

    Incomplete disassembly of the Type 03 machine gun (QBZ-03)

    It should be noted that for the development and testing of 5.8x42 cartridges in the late eighties, the Chinese created an experimental 7.62mm Type 81 assault rifle based on a 5.8mm Type87 submachine gun, but it was not adopted for service, and its release was limited to a small experimental series.
    At present, it is completely unclear what the future of Type 03 and Type95 machines is, but it is possible that in the next year or two we will find out about this.
    The Type 03 submachine gun uses a gas engine with an upper gas piston with a short stroke. Locking is done by turning the shutter. Cartridge supply - from plastic box magazines compatible with the QBZ-95 assault rifle. The receiver is made of two halves stamped from a steel sheet. upper and lower connected by transverse pins. A safety translator is located on the left side of the weapon, above the pistol grip, and provides firing with single shots and bursts. Butt plastic, folding right.

      The unit in the above photos evokes a wild feeling of "deja vu". It is very similar to a hybrid of the models presented for the competition in '46 in the USSR. A kind of cross between Tokarev's automatic carbines (receiver) and Sudaev's (bolt group and breech cover).

      There is, it turns out still that to study and implement. smile

    The PRC is great, they do not give up the 7,62x39 mm ammunition, at distances of up to 200 meters, when fighting indoors, when fighting in the forest, this ammunition is more effective (even without using hunting semi-sheathed ammunition) due to the higher pain shock (in contrast from "sewed" 5,45x39) and good "work" through light bushes and undergrowth ..
