The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine expresses deep indignation at the internationally illegal actions of the Russian Federation, once again aimed at the violation of the sovereign rights of Ukraine as a coastal state to explore and develop natural resources in its territorial sea and on the continental shelf guaranteed by the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea .

We regard the Russian side’s causing a change in the Black Sea’s two B-312 and B-319 drilling rigs and the Tavrida oil platform, which are the property of Ukraine, as another episode of the large-scale robbery of property and natural resources committed by the aggressor state during the part’s occupation the sovereign territory of Ukraine - the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol. This act, which added to the list of evidence of the aggressive behavior of the Russian Federation and its disregard for international law, also testifies to Russia's violation of its obligations as an occupying state, in particular with regard to ensuring the inviolability of the right of ownership.

In this regard, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine calls on the Russian Federation to international legal responsibility, requires the Russian Federation to immediately take all practical measures to stop internationally wrongful acts, to provide proper assurances and guarantees of their non-repetition in the future and immediately return to use and possession Ukrainian property.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine reserves the right to demand compensation from the Russian side for the harm caused by the actions of the latter, which have all the signs of an international offense within the meaning of the convention.
