Syria is the Middle East Crimea
Syria is not only unique in its culture history and the ethnic composition, but also because it was the only one in the Middle East that had an independent serious resistance to the American “democratic” expansion, supported by the Gulf monarchies, that is, an attempt to carry out a coup d'etat, provoking civil strife within the country, according to the Libyan scenario. Experts-orientalists assigned one or two years to Syrian resistance - the country has been holding for five years now! True, with the support of Russia and Iran.
Syria is unique in that its government did not try to sit “on two chairs”, like the Yugoslav Milosevic, like Gaddafi and Saddam Hussein. She made a choice in favor of Moscow, and confirmed it by providing Russia with a naval base in Tartus, the only Russian base in the entire East. The geographical position of Syria also affects: it is much closer to us than Libya, so Russia could provide it with real assistance in a crisis situation, which was impossible in Libya.
But why does Russia need Syria? Some major experts argue that, only for the distraction of attention from Ukraine, and this endorses Bandera "experts." It's all Svidomo nonsense. In fact, Russia acts according to the “Crimean scenario” in order to avoid in Syria serious consequences for national security.
Officially, Russia destroys ISIS “caliphate” ISIS as a base for terrorists against Russia in Syria, this is true, but not all. The full truth opens if you ask: why did Washington plan to bring its puppet government to power in Syria?
Washington in this region does not have its own bases, neither the Air Force nor the Navy, and today it is forced to ask permission from Turkey to use the Air Force Ingerlik base for operations over Syria. The nearest US bases are located in the Persian Gulf, but they are too far away. There is, of course, Israel, but with it, too, everything must be coordinated, as with Turkey.
In this sense, Syria could have become for the United States an “unsinkable aircraft carrier” in the Mediterranean, as was the Crimea in the Black Sea. The situation is similar. Washington apparently wanted to put its satellite in power in Syria, with the help of the monarchies of the Gulf, to create a powerful military base in the country, as he did in “independent” Kosovo, where the largest US Air Force base is located in the region.
The United States would share Syria with the monarchies of the Gulf, leaving behind economic interests, the gas pipeline to Europe, and appropriated military-political ones. At the same time, Syria would become the Saudis' Salafi platform for the cultivation of fanatics for the entire Middle East and Europe, and a counterweight for Iran. In fact, the Salafi Al-Qaeda, represented by An-Nusra and other Islamic extremists, with the financial support of Saudi Arabia and Qatar, took up the overthrow of Bashar al-Assad. As it was in Libya with Gaddafi.
When An-Nusra got bogged down in battles with the Syrian army, ISIS appeared on the scene, successfully armed with the American weapons from warehouses in Mosul (Iraq). And he came to the aid of Nusra to finish off Bashar Assad. Similarly, on the Euromaidan in Kiev, the neo-Nazis of the Right Sector, at the suggestion of the US Embassy, came to the aid of the “peaceful protesters” to finish off President Yanukovych.
It was then that Russia repeated the “Crimean scenario” in Syria, only instead of “polite people”, the Russian Aerospace Forces flew in. Amended to the fact that Bashar Asad still held the capital and the country's most important communications. It was no longer possible to hesitate: either to surrender Syria to Washington for a base, or to create an Air Force base there and help Assad. Moscow chose the "Crimean scenario." Why?
The US Air Force base in Syria allows us to keep our entire North Caucasus under Turkey under operational attack, through Turkey, the distance allows it. If the US base in the Crimea threatened the North Caucasus and the south of Russia from the western direction, then the base in Syria - from the south, that's the whole difference. Occupying a Syrian ground, Russia, on the contrary, threatens the southern flank of the Americans in Europe.
The base in Syria gives Russia and other operational capabilities. First, to combat terrorists in the distant approaches throughout the Middle East, which is officially announced. However, it allows, if necessary, to “project power”, for example, on the Persian Gulf, the financial and ideological source of Salafitism. Thus, Russia can influence the formation of political weather in this region, which is difficult to overestimate.
Influence in Syria Russia will also have to share, but with Iran. Iran’s interests are in supporting the friendly government of Bashar Assad and, through him, to the Mediterranean Sea. Russia and Iran are also united by a common threat from the United States. Iran’s leader Khamenei, during a recent visit to Iran by Putin, made a frank statement: “US plans to dominate Syria threaten Iran and Russia.” Putin does not mind. The delivery of four C-300 divisions to Iran at the end of this year is an eloquent confirmation of this.
The Iran-Russia-Syria combination, with Iran’s actual control of Iraq, seems to be the strongest in the region, the United States and its monarchist satellites will have to retreat from Syria. Moreover, Europe felt threatened by the transformation of Syria into a Salafi extremist state under the wing of Saudi Arabia, with or without ISIS.
