The Syrian army is already in 20 km from Palmyra

73
News agencies report that the Russian aviation made a series of attacks on the positions of the militants of the so-called “Islamic State”, located near Palmyra. The reports said that both bombers and helicopters were involved in airstrikes. As a result of precision strikes, several militant support bases were destroyed, which allowed the Syrian army to move forward.

RIA News reports that the Syrian troops are located approximately 20 km from ancient Palmyra. Particularly noted is the fact that Palmyra is not only an ancient city with numerous World Heritage sites (many of which have already been destroyed by terrorists), but also a strategically important “intersection” that opens the road to Deir ez-Zor and Raqqa.

It also became known that Syrian President Bashar Assad ordered an inspection of the SAR troops. The country's defense minister, General Fahed Jassem Al-Freij, visits military units and formations in the provinces of Lattakia and Hama.

On the progress of the inspection reports the news agency SANA:
The Minister heard reports of the heads of army units on the conduct of military operations and special operations in the fight against terrorist groups supported from outside.

Now, more than ever, morale is strong among the soldiers of the Syrian army and the militia. Without the support of our aviation and arms supplies, ISIS has already taken over. You watch reports from Syria, and you see how confident Assad is in victory and you hear endless words of gratitude to Russia, and it becomes pleasant in my heart!

            Great thought.
I was struck by one fact that I learned about a long time ago, thirty years ago -
in India not a single monument to the British colonial generals has been destroyed.
The principle is that if we destroy the monuments to the English conquerors, OUR generations will not know anything about this period of OUR HISTORY.
            Very wise.

in the same Egypt, in the vicinity of the Imhotep Museum (do not scold if you did not write it correctly), everything was done recently. This is even the guides speak in plain text. That is, there are some really interesting things that are under the ground and the fact that on the surface - everything has been done recently. Even the pyramids say quite fresh. Well, stones / blocks can be collected and, after their identification, set in their original place. There is even a computer technology that allows you to calculate which stone / block in which place it used to be. In addition, there are many photographs by which you can identify the position of the blocks. It will be like assembling a puzzle.
Novgorod frescoes were collected from dust and debris.
The missing parts will make new ones. Usually they are made so that they stand out from the genuine.

Although the media say that the Syrian army is sluggishly advancing, it can be concluded that, with the support of our air forces, the Syrian army is slowly squeezing ISIS out step by step and freeing up settlements. Yesterday I looked at another report on the bombing of our "partners" from across the ocean. They level well, maybe of course not in the same volume, and not the same goals, but from the point of view of performance they are great fellows. If the goal is a warehouse, then they load it in full, (1:20 as much as the eye rejoices) until there is a desert + accuracy. I hope our flyers will have more of these items. And then they squeeze all the juices out of the FABs, in fact, the design of the times of the king of peas, which is also good, but it would be better to have more controlled weapons. So we'll take Palmyra faster)

Yes, the NATO falcons are weighed in full. And they have full-time ammunition that will be more powerful than ours. And when ours fall into a warehouse, for example, and then there is a comment that the object was destroyed as a result of subsequent detonation, I have never seen confirmation of these words in the video, you can see how the bomb (rocket) fires and that's it. The foreign video library clearly shows that there is subsequent detonation, which completes the job.

Tankers obviously need a spotter, otherwise the review seems to be rather weak.

Yeah. It is evident that the Syrians lack modern technology. Even the camera operator saw a cluster of bandits and the appearance of some kind of self-propelled art installation. Fathers commanders also had to see this and adjust the fire. It was possible to hail and hail the hail, or use mortars to give the slope. One thing is even cheaper than a turntable.

The closer the victory is, the more "participants and winners" will appear, willing to take part in the division of the results. Fact.

EEE. what 20 km. There Poddubny reporting did on the outskirts of the city. That is, on an old career. there, two or three kilometers remain to the city. In addition, there was information that the assault units of the SAA went to the northern outskirts of the new city. Probably still 2 kilometers.
