Today the ships of the Iranian Navy arrived on a friendly visit to Astrakhan - at the base of the Caspian flotilla, which on October 7 delivered a strike by Caliber-NK cruise missiles at militant positions in Syria. From a press release Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation:
During the visit, a meeting of the command of the Iranian Navy detachment with the command of the flotilla, the leadership of the Astrakhan region and the city of Astrakhan is planned. The crews of foreign ships will take a walk on historical places of Astrakhan, get acquainted with the history of the Caspian flotilla and the city, visit Russian ships. Between Russian and Iranian sailors, sports and boat races will be held.
Russian ships of the Caspian Flotilla made an extreme visit to Iran (Enzeli port) in 2007 year.
Initially, it was reported that two out of three ships of Iranian guests will arrive in Astrakhan - Р224 Peykan and Р225 Dzhushan, which according to the Russian classification are rocket boats. The destroyer "Damavand" will remain on the roads in the sea - near the entrance to the Volga-Caspian channel, since this ship has a large draft. Then the plans changed.
TV channel LifeNews publishes on YouTube a video of the arrival of Iranian ships in Astrakhan - to the central Astrakhan embankment.
