Russian Defense Ministry spokesman, Major General Igor Konashenkov, told the media that over the course of a day, the Russian Aerospace Forces aircraft in Syria made 22 combat sorties, attacking terrorist infrastructure facilities, including eight strongholds, 27 training camps, and ammunition depots. The strikes were carried out in the provinces of Homs, Hama and Rakka. It should be noted that the IS militants proclaimed Rakku as their capital.
Against this background, the Ministry of Defense is voicing information from representatives of the so-called Syrian free army, according to which the SSA is ready to cooperate for joint action against the IG militants. Information Agency TASS cites a statement by General Konashenkov:
There is information about the readiness of various forces, including the "free Syrian army", to make contacts for joint resistance to the Islamic State militants.
Commented on Igor Konashenkov and the refusal of the West to provide intelligence information revealing the locations of the militants of the IG, which are still unknown to the Russian side:
Today we address: give the coordinates of the ISIS objects. But in response to silence or failure. (...) We fix a complete stupor with our colleagues. From which the following conclusion suggests itself: either the moderate opposition is a ghost, and you just pretend to support it.
