Hu of Mr. McFaul
"Rides! Riding on! ”- With joyful cheers and bread and salt, the Russian people should meet, according to the almost generally accepted American view, the new ambassador of the United States to Russia, Mr. Michael McFaul. No doubt, Americans think, because we, the Russians, are literally paying the dearest after Barak and Hillary, the main and, what is characteristic, ardent supporter of the Russian democracy, to promote freedom and democracy in this barbarous country.
At the end of May this year, overseas, they decided that it was McFaul who deserves such difficult and even dangerous work as sitting in the embassy chair in Moscow, the capital of the most anti-democratic country (after Iran and North Korea, of course). And after all the approvals, Michael McFaul already packs his bags and waits for the team with the words “Alea jacta est!” (“The die is cast!”) Prepared in advance.
So who is this Mr. McFaul, and what are his plans, so to speak, the first five-year plan. It must be admitted that the biography of Michael McFaul is closely connected with the words "USSR" and "Russia". It is with the words, since the new ambassador has about our country, as befits an average American, a well-established notion just as about giant spaces spread out in the expanses of Eurasia with the sole purpose of sowing the germs of totalitarianism and oppress democratic states.
This savior of democratic foundations was born in 1963 and received a university education as an expert in international relations and Slavic languages. As can be seen, young Michael, from a young age, brought up in himself the most difficult feelings for the “world aggressor” - the “Evil Empire”. For the first time, Mr. McFaul appeared in our country in 1983 year - in the most, I must say, the heyday of the government of that government, which made all the people on the other side of the Iron Curtain nervously shudder. Michael arrived in the hero-city of Leningrad and, as he claims, understood the entire system that had developed in the Soviet Union. Since then, Mr. McFaul has been baptized with a confident Protestant hand, having heard the words “communist” and “Soviet”.
Further, Mr. McFaul's pre-posolsky biography led him alongside democratic trends in Poland and Czechoslovakia. All events that tried to help rid the "freedom-loving" peoples of Europe from the "heavy Soviet fetters" were painfully reflected in his heart. The curve of democratic activity reduces the future ambassador with anti-Soviet friends. Subsequently, these prominent gentlemen, among whom was Gavriil Popov, became quite large officials in the new Russia - just like those who stood behind the back of young Michael McFaul.
After 1991, everything went on as usual - the USSR and the entire socialist camp collapsed, one after another, conflicts erupted in the Caucasus, the Balkans, Central Asia and Transnistria. Russia was torn apart by ethnic strife. At that time, Mr. McFaul sat in Moscow in the chair of a representative of the National Institute of Democracy and understood that the business started by the CIA even a good 30 years ago had come true, which means that the Russian people will live in a prosperous democratic state. From his window, there were lines of bread, meetings, at which star-striped flags flashed, fights for liver sausage on cards or coupons. And it was warming the soul of Michael McFaul, because in his understanding this is how a bright democratic future should be born.
But as time went on, and the Russian people gradually began to realize that if such benefactors, like McFaul’s like-minded people, continue to try to steer the country, then we will have not only a democratic future, but no one at all.
Black lightning ran over Michael McFaul's heart to say that from the 2000 of the year, a man who had led activities to fight the external enemy, that is, such as McFaul, would sit in the main Russian chair. For the future ambassador this news made an indelible impression. He could not understand why this was the people of Russia who decided to abandon the only right course for unconditional submission to the will of the most democratic state in the world and again chose their winding road of development. At the same time, numerous American businessmen who used the money they had dumped for ten years from pumping out raw materials realized that it was time to reel their fishing rods. Someone reeled, someone did not have time ...
Then the Slavophile McFaul again sat at his desk and began writing ardent anti-Putin articles with the aim of shaking the unacceptable system for the United States. At the same time, Michael McFaul did not listen to the numerous cries of the representatives of the American authorities "To break off all relations!", "Introduce an embargo!" And so on. McFaul also decided to go his own way and announced that he did not need to chop off his shoulder, but he needed to get out of the bosom from the good old double standards. According to him, it is necessary to simultaneously cooperate with the Russian authorities and with the Russian society. At the same time, the future ambassador under Russian society understood, naturally, all those for whom such a notion as a strong and independent Russia is unacceptable. In other words, McFaul called upon, smiling at the Kremlin, to finance various “democratic” (read: pro-American) organizations in Russia.
Year 2008 came up, and McFaul, like most "understanding" Americans, was enthusiastic about the news that Putin was leaving, freeing up space for another person. This other person was immediately decided to test for “Russian-American friendship,” suggesting almost simultaneously Georgian aggression in South Ossetia and the red “Reload” button. Like, renounce the old Putin regime, and you will be happy. By the way, the ideological inspirer of the reset proposal is Mr. McFaul. However, apparently, in the West they still did not fully understand that Putin, to put it mildly, was not completely gone. Russia reacted harshly to the erection of the missile defense system under its nose, the Georgian leader chewed his tie, the Baltic countries nervously shivered after forcing Georgia to peace, the opposition movements were somehow too zealously dispersed throughout Russia by riot police. In general, something in this reboot did not work out and, naturally, as McFaul decided for himself, it was solely the fault of the Russians. Putin McFaul accused of all anti-democratic sins and, perhaps, even rushed to his portrait on his wall with oriental darts. However, he still had hope for Medvedev’s second term in order to try again to offer his “knight's move”. But in 2011, that hope turned to smoke ...
Apparently, at that moment, when we decided in the high offices about the new presidency of Vladimir Putin, McFaul, and began to offer to the embassy. Since he, he says, knows too much about this country, let him “rake” himself.
That is, McFaul got his hands on those cards, the methods of the game in which he nurtured and described his entire adult life. Today he does not hide the fact that he is arriving in Russia in order to return her to the rails of "democratic" development. Putin McFaul calls the paranoid leader and is ready to do everything to level the role of the future president of Russia in society. What methods for this will be used by the American side? Yes, the methods are the same: playing on national and religious feelings, new attempts to shatter the Caucasus, to gather a company of like-minded people and declare them politically persecuted individuals, to show other countries the whole destructiveness of the Russian regime, to scare the Balts and Georgians again with Russia, not to allow partner programs to be realized. All this is called - to create a negative image of the Russian authorities both inside the country and abroad. Yes, but we all have already passed. Well, well, welcome, Mr. McFaul ...
