In the Urals, were held drills for underwater driving tanks

In the district educational center for the training of junior specialists of the Central Military District in Yelan, Sverdlovsk Region, underwater driving classes were held tanks T-72.

Every year, more than 8 thousands of junior specialists for the ground forces — driver mechanics, gunners and commanders of combat vehicles — are trained in the center.

Due to the large number of rivers and lakes in the Ural and Volga regions, special attention is paid in the training program for tank crews to overcome water obstacles.

Let's just say that I know this range firsthand and of course it’s not driving tanks under water, but overcoming a deep ford, but it doesn’t beg for the need to develop such a skill and I’m glad that modern Russian tankers learn this practically, and not “on paper”. ..Good luck and success.

A very familiar picture, inspired by memories. The Ordruf training ground, though in the 62's, the first underwater driving, a lot of impressions.
Including how one car walked along the opposite coast, the mechanic pulled the lever, the tank spun sharply 90 degrees. But nothing, they coordinated via a walkie-talkie (with a selective mat) and went ashore.

There is another opinion, in order to become a real fur-water in the SA, you had to be able to:
      - start T64
      - turn on the gear and start off on the T-62
      - stop on time for the T-80 yes
