The United Instrument-Making Corporation (OPK) has developed an operating system that is protected from hacking, allowing you to work with secret information. "OS" passed the test and is ready for serial production, reports RIA News a message from the head of the corporation department, Alexander Kalinin.

According to Kalinin, “the Russian operating system Zarya is a family of operating systems, which together can become a full-fledged substitute for foreign systems that are now used in law enforcement agencies, the public sector, and in the country's defense enterprises.”

He noted that "the software is compatible with most traditional office applications and programs." In particular, on the basis of "Dawn" will work "system of electronic" military tickets "- personal cards of military personnel introduced in the Russian army."

“The operating system successfully completed state tests and was recognized to be ready for serial production, it complies with 3 class of protection against unauthorized access and 2 with the level of control over the absence of undeclared capabilities,” Kalinin said.

The representative of the defense industry explained that the scope of the OS is quite wide: “it can be used in the workplace; use as a basis for automated control systems; create modern data centers of all sizes and scales. "

He stressed that “equipment based on such an OS allows working with information even under the heading“ top secret ”, which is confirmed by certification in the system of the Russian Ministry of Defense.”

It can attack. By the way, the NSA Kalli Linux operating system was also at Snowden. You don't need to burn anything, you just need to erase the partition table in the explorer and Windows will not work. But I dare say that both Windows and other OSes are equipped with such a protection system that you never dreamed of. Usually OS "Solaris" is used for especially protected systems. At the same time, "Solaris" was open on the network and on sale, you can look for anyone interested. When we install or install an operating system other than antivirus, other protection is not installed. Even the update is disabled.

Only the kernel is taken from the Linux OS. Everything else is written in its own. MSVS-5 is practically unbreakable, as shown by attempts to hack Kaspersky servers and the GAS-Vybory system. By the way, do not consider this an advertisement, one of the branches of MSVS is offered for large and medium-sized businesses as absolutely protected system. By the way, in the Linux bootloader, you can block the Windows boot.

The Linux kernel is usually written by a group of independent programmers and is checked and tested over the network. What you attach to the kernel is your own business. Most OSes are completely free and that prevent anyone from seeing what kind of animal it is. Moreover, there are OSes that you can not put on the hard drive but run from a drive or flash drive.

There is no absolute protection; you can only significantly reduce the risks. Therefore, as soon as this operational will spread uncontrollably, a large group of military hackers "potential friends" and 100% will start working on it, in 1-2 years a vulnerability will be found and a special virus will be developed, the signature of which will not be in any anti-virus database. Therefore, the only protection, as was disconnection from the Internet and reliable shielding, will remain so.

Take it higher. Microsoft itself is already moving to Linux (!!!).
Microsoft is switching to using the Linux kernel-based operating system in its data centers. The proprietary server OS is called Azure Cloud Switch (ACS) and is a cross-platform modular system.

Microsoft notes that today on the market there are many high-quality hardware platforms with high performance and flexibility, reducing costs. But the devices are produced by different brands and work under the control of various software, and because of this, difficulties arise with their integration into the local network of enterprises.
Azure Cloud Switch is designed to solve this problem. The developers claim that the operating system allows you to quickly debug, fix errors and test software. In addition, on devices of any manufacturer, Azure Cloud Switch makes it possible to use the same software stack. The new OS will provide the ability to use open source software, as well as Microsoft's own software and third-party applications.
Company representatives have not yet specified whether the source code of the new operating system will be published. However, while Microsoft does not intend to launch the commercial distribution of Azure Cloud Switch, the operating system is supposed to be installed exclusively on the company's own equipment.

Such a system for OS Zarya is under development.
Infrastructure support system for modeling and simulation (SPMI) is designed to organize a unified interaction of computer simulation models and information and computational tasks (IRZ), documenting and processing the results of modeling and calculations.
Providing a unified environment for information interaction, SPMI allows you to create and flexibly configure computational and modeling complexes (including geographically distributed ones) using components and systems from various manufacturers, both existing and newly developed.

Guys about what a dispute? After all, ordinary ALT Linux in schools cannot connect us to a network. But in engineering departments half of computers are running alternative software. I talked with my nephew, he graduated from such a faculty two years ago. So their main emphasis was made When asked where they got the distribution kit, he replied that they had officially bought a license. It was a shock for them to find out that the license gives the right for the company to configure and debug and maintain the OS as it is written in the license. Linux does not allow in most cases, like Windows thoughtlessly poke buttons and keys. Maybe something will appear.

Does it happen? Well, even if we take as an example the "Baikal-T1" cited by you. Facts: architecture is not oursMIPS P5600 introduced in 2013 by Imagination; production is not oursare made in Taiwan, the owners of the factory are not us. Okay, to hell with him, if only for civilian use, then what's the difference where the plant is, all countries have long withdrawn production from themselves. But we want to plug the holes in strategic areas with our own components. So what are they like? And the civilian market will not accept these processors. Firstly, they will be expensive (which is already evident from Elbrus), because there is no and cannot be such a demand for processors of the 2001 level, which will allow launching large-scale production and thereby reduce the cost of the product. Secondly, and in the previous sentence I mentioned this - we are not in 2001.
I ask you not to take my comment as nagging, here for some reason any criticism is immediately recorded as nagging. It is certainly good that at least some body movements have begun. But you need to understand for yourself that the gap will not go anywhere. In 2015 we have the level of ten years ago, by 2025 we will reach the level of 2015. Whether this will be a progress for DOMESTIC microelectronics is UNCONDITIONAL. Will it be a jerk at the WORLD level - ABSOLUTELY NO.
It is not what they do that is annoying; it is annoying how it is presented. It took 1 billion rubles to "develop" T1,5. Who can explain to me what this money was spent on?

Flashed with knowledge of history? Principles WITHOUT IMPLEMENTATION remain just principles. Because there are no TECHNOLOGIES for implementation and there are no developments in the field of technology. And you can implement these principles in DIFFERENT ways. SMP, aSMP, vSMP, big.little, etc. - processor architecture? Each one essentially performs one function, BUT IN DIFFERENTLY and with DIFFERENT RESULTS. Therefore, each of them MAY be called something new. And here, under the new and their own, they are trying to give out not new and not their own. It is not what they do that is annoying; it is annoying how it is presented. This is the whole point. And you also need to launch it into the civilian industry so that you have your own civil operating systems, otherwise Vindovoz holds the monopoly, at the same time there will be no dependence on the United States. Sales are open only to legal entities, (at the moment, it seems to individuals on pre-order), the company said on its website. In particular, four such processors are installed on the rack server "Elbrus-4.4". Among the characteristics of the PC are 24 gigabytes of RAM (expandable up to 96), a terabyte hard drive, eight USB 2.0 ports and an ATI Radeon 6000 series video card.

The server has four processors, the board supports up to 384 GB of RAM. The server has already received an award for Success in Import Substitution. cost 200 thousand

Here is a lot of talk about the new OS. I don’t understand why there is so much screeching. Axis missed? But many of our Linux distributions are based on Linux. However, none of them replaced Windu. The most important thing in Windows, you don't have to think about it, just press the continue button and that's it. In Linux machines, this trick will not crawl, and the user rights there are more rigidly delimited. When faced with a new technique with real software time, based on Linux, it was a cold shower for us. Because the application software worked from under Windows. That's why you are right that each OS will occupy its own niche.
