The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, by order of September 16, changed the rules for foreigners to enter Crimea by expanding the list of reasons to visit the peninsula and toughening the requirements for journalists and human rights activists, reports RIA News.
According to the document, the basis for foreign citizens to obtain permission to travel to the Crimea will also be "preaching religious beliefs, performing religious rites or meeting religious needs (solely by application or coordination with the Ministry of Culture), or participating in events of the Majlis of the Crimean Tatar people.
Foreign journalists are required to “receive special permission in coordination with the Ministry of Information Policy of Ukraine.”
As for human rights defenders, representatives of international governmental and non-governmental organizations, they are obliged to "coordinate their visit with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine."
