Lessons MAX-2015
The 25 International Aviation and Space Salon, which passed from 30 to 12 in August, clearly showed that the policy undertaken by the country's leadership to revive military aviation is being consistently implemented. Significant progress is noticeable in all sectors. To realize this indisputable fact, it was necessary just to look more carefully not only at the sky, where brilliant demonstration flights, which had no world analogues, were going, but also at the static exposition. In the pavilions, sometimes not in the most prominent places were samples, the appearance of which was sometimes breathtaking. After all, we can, if we want!
As in previous years, combat aircraft became one of the main themes of the cabin. Although the expected contracts for the supply of Su-35 fighters to China and the new batch of these aircraft for the Russian Air Force did not take place, there were many interesting things. In some cases, these new items and especially not advertised.
Training and combat
At a static exposition, for example, a prototype of a Yak-130 combat training aircraft modestly hid in a light attack aircraft configuration. His first public demonstration was noticed, perhaps, only by the most sophisticated journalists specializing in military aircraft.
“A promising transport aircraft will receive the designation IL-106, its carrying capacity will be 80 – 100 tons”
On the new modification of the Yak-130 laser designator-rangefinder is installed in a sloping nose. In appearance, it resembles similar equipment installed on the Su-25 attack aircraft. The presence of a laser rangefinder will increase the effectiveness of the aircraft on ground targets and expand the list of high-precision weapons used by aircraft. This equipment will provide combat use of the Yak-130 on highly rugged terrain (mountains, ravines), improve the accuracy of determining the coordinates of the operational target and the application of the existing range of aviation weapons of destruction (TSA). The laser rangefinder was installed on the Yak-130 at the request of foreign customers in order to expand combat capabilities and use the aircraft as a light attack aircraft. At the moment, aerodynamic tests of the upgraded Yak-130 have been conducted, the new rangefinder has been tested for range and accuracy of aiming.
In principle, the emergence of a modernized Yak-130 was an expected event. As the head of the Rosoboronexport air force department, Sergei Kornev, said earlier, Russia can convert the Yak-130 combat trainer into an attack aircraft, if foreign customers have such a desire. He stressed that the potential of the aircraft is very large. Although at this stage, the Yak-130 is interested in foreign customers more as a combat training aircraft of advanced light training class AJT (Advanced Jet Trainer). According to the representative of Rosoboronexport, for sure, this machine will sooner or later appear weapon. At the same time, the use of the Yak-130 as a light attack aircraft will increase its popularity in the global market.
The intention to equip the Yak-130 UBS with a laser rangefinder was confirmed by Colonel-General Viktor Bondarev, Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Aerospace Force. “The laser rangefinder should be used to ensure that the aircraft, as prescribed by the tactical-technical assignment, can use all types of guided weapons,” said the commander-in-chief. “He has all the possibilities for this and the modernization potential is huge, so we will install.” Bondarev noted that VKS annually plan to purchase at least 16 Yak-130 aircraft. This is enough to bring to the 2020 year the fleet to the required number, which will correspond to the number of cadets flying on this plane.
In general, the creation of light combat aircraft on the basis of UBS is a universal practice worldwide. As an example, T-50 / TA-50 Golden Eagle developed by the South Korean company Korea Aerospace Industries, L-15 of Chinese Hongdu Aircraft, Scorpion (Scorpion) US "Textron Airland" (Textron AirLand). Armament can be equipped with M-346 produced by the Italian Alenia Ermacchi. As a rule, the development of combat configuration UBS significantly increases the sales of aircraft on the international arms market.
At MAKS-2015, Irkut Corporation entered into a contract for the supply of four Yak-130 controllers to Belarus. Aircraft will be transferred in 2016 year. To date, the Yak-130 UBS has already been shipped to Algeria (16 units) and Belarus (4), exported to Bangladesh (16). According to the latest annual report of the corporation, 2012 of the 2014 of the RF Air Force of the Russian Federation was handed over to 50 of the Yak-130 UBS. At the same time, “Irkut” successfully executes the contract for the supply of property for the provision of the Yak-130 to the Defense Ministry of the Russian Federation, and serves the aircraft's main customer in the basing points.
Yak-130 is designed for cadets flying schools. On it master the skills of piloting and work on ground and air targets, necessary for aircraft of the fourth and fifth generations. A highly reliable integrated control system with the possibility of reprogramming allows the pilot to be prepared for both Russian and Western combat aircraft.
At MAKS it became known about the continuation of work on a project to create a new training aircraft (TCB) for the initial stage of flight training (LP), designated Yak-152. According to representatives of the defense industry, in connection with the sharp increase in the volume of LP, the Ministry of Defense requires a new TCB, for which the Yak-152 optimally fits. It is assumed that it will be actively used in the structure of both the Air Force and DOSAAF. Allowed the possibility of equipping the machine with a diesel engine running on jet fuel. This will reduce operating costs and increase flight performance.
One of the features of the Yak-152 is the installation of multifunctional displays (MFDs) in the cockpit - similar to those with which the Yak-130 is equipped. Two MFD equipped cadet workplace, two more - an instructor.
When designing the Yak-152, special attention was paid to safety. The aircraft is equipped with a complex of means for the emergency escape of the KSAP-152 aircraft with the SKS-94М2 seats developed by NPP Zvezda, which ensures fast and safe ejection in an emergency situation. Flight tests of the system are expected to begin at the end of the 2015 of the year.
The main advantages of the Yak-152 over analogues are the optimal aerodynamic layout, increased crew safety, modern avionics complex, unification of instruments and other means of indication with Yak-130 UBS, and chassis strength. The possibility of storing the Yak-152 outside the hangar and its use on unpaved airfields is allowed. In the near future, Rosoboronexport is going to begin active promotion of the initial training aircraft of the Yak-152 together with the combat training Yak-130.
Earlier it was reported that the contract with the Ministry of Defense planned to assemble four samples of the Yak-152, including two to participate in flight tests. It is assumed that the first aircraft will take off in 2016 year. “By the 2017 year, when the maximum number of cadets will enter the flight practice, we will teach them already on this plane,” the commander-in-chief of the videocamera promised.
The world experience of development of piston train stations involves the creation of light attack aircraft on their base, as in the case of the A-29 Super Tucano (Super Tucano) of the Brazilian Embraer. It is possible that a similar light attack aircraft will be created on the basis of the Yak-152.
Although the contract expected at the salon with China for the supply of Su-35C was not signed, it became known that if an agreement is concluded, the aircraft will be transferred to the customer in a fully assembled form, and licensing production in the PRC is not envisaged. The contract is still under negotiation. It must be signed before the end of 2015. In case of purchase, China’s Su-35C will also receive one ground-based aeronautical communications complex (NKVS) developed by Polet. NKVS is designed to control a group of aircraft and interface with automated control systems (ACS). In the future, China may receive several more such complexes.
The contract for the supply of the Russian Air Force to a new batch of Su-35C fighters was not signed either. UAC President Yury Slyusar informed that the document is highly ready and the corporation expects to sign it before the end of the year. According to him, the new order for the Su-35С for the Russian Air Force will ensure, up to 2020, the loading of the production capacity of the Komsomolsk-on-Amur Aviation Plant named after Gagarin, which serially produces these aircraft.
As for the continuation of the development and production of advanced combat aircraft, the KLA must hand over three more fifth-generation experienced fighters of the PAK FA (T-50) to the military this year in addition to the five previously received by the customer. These machines will participate in the flight test program.
According to the plans of the Air Force, the purchase of the first serial fighter jets of the PAK FA will take place in 2016, although the total number of aircraft of this type, which is supposed to be supplied to the Russian Armed Forces, is still not specified. Earlier, the Commander-in-Chief of the VKS Colonel-General Yuri Bondarev announced his intention to acquire 55 PAK FA. Subsequently, the Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, Yuri Borisov, warned that the agency could adjust the order for the PAK FA in connection with the new economic conditions and high Su-35 indicators. During the cabin, Bondarev clarified that test flights began to test the combat use of the missile armament of the new fighter, in which the PAK FA shows good results.
UAC continues to work on a promising long-range interception aviation complex (PAK DP). Currently, the creation of the PAK DP is at the stage of elaboration of the technical specifications, which is now being clarified.
Total VC expect to receive over 250 aircraft and helicopters in the 2015 year. According to the commander in chief, for some models of aircraft, there is the possibility of advanced deliveries to the account of 2016, and no reduction in purchases is planned. Earlier, Deputy Defense Minister Yury Borisov said that the ministry this year expects to receive more than 200 units of aircraft from industry.
Military transport aviation
The exhibition demonstrated a serial heavy military transport aircraft (MTC) Il-76MD-90 "Victor Livanov" and a unique laboratory Il-76MDK Cosmonauts Training Center, a model of light transport IL-112 and an aircraft-laboratory based on IL-114.
As it became known, this year the KLA will hand over to the Ministry of Defense three Il-76MD-90А, including the “Viktor Livanov”, which will be adopted by the military transport aviation (BTA). Immediately after the salon "Viktor Livanov" went to Ivanovo - to the Center for combat use and retraining of the flight personnel of the VTA.
The first two cars built on Aviastar-SP Ulyanovsk, as recalled by the general director of JSC UAC - Transport Aircraft (UAC-TS) Vildan Zinnurov, were transferred to the Taganrog Aviation and Scientific Complex. Beriev (TANTK): one in the interests of the Ministry of Defense of Russia to create an ARLO and U A-100 Premier aircraft at its base, the second for partners who will use it as a base for special aviation. According to Zinnurov, the last aircraft is not listed among the 39 IL-76MD-90A contracted by the Ministry of Defense and will increase the number of the first party built on the Aviastar to 40 units.
According to Sergey Velmozhkin, General Director of OJSC Il, now there are about ten such machines in production. The volumes of their annual release will gradually increase: now there are three, then five, eight, twelve. “We plan to eventually reach the 18 aircraft a year,” Velmozhkin stated. According to him, the company is ready to start accepting orders for the export of military-technical cooperation Il-76MD-90А next year. And Zinnurov suggested that the first export contracts for the new Russian military-technical cooperation may appear four to six months after the completion of the salon. Interest in the aircraft is huge, especially now, when it began to be acquired by the Russian Air Force. IL-76 does not need advertising on the international market, said the head of the transport division of the KLA. In total, about one thousand IL-76 of the old modification were released, of which five hundred fly abroad. “Now the pool of potential customers is quite large,” he concluded, noting that negotiations with Algeria, South Africa, Egypt, and Venezuela were in the most advanced stage.
At the salon, UAC was counting on finding buyers for the civilian version of the IL-76MD-90А, which has already been started. Within a year and a half, it is planned to receive a certificate for it and potential operators are already looking for it.
But it’s too early to speak about the state contract for the new tanker IL-78М-90А, which is being created under the State Weapon Program, it is still necessary to make and fly around it, Velmozhkin noted. IL-78М-90А will take off in the first quarter of the next year. In comparison with the IL-78, the modification has an increased fuel transfer efficiency in flight. According to the estimates of the head of JSC "IL", it is not planned to produce a sample for ground-based flight tests, since the base machine is proven. Planned special tests, including refueling in the air.
Based on the IL-76MD-90А, a new electronic warfare aircraft (EW) can also be developed, said Vladimir Mikheev, advisor to the first deputy head of the Radio Electronic Technologies Concern (KRET). He recalled that the KRET is already engaged in a new EW "Pobershchik-M" aircraft. The draft design was worked out on the Tu-214, but the most promising at the moment is the placement of the EW complex on the IL-76MD-90А, because it is more convenient to combine a large amount of equipment, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation plans to initiate full-scale development projects in the near future. in this direction.
It became known at the exhibition that in December the first outdated IL-76 video conferencing system of Russia will be upgraded according to the IL-76MDM program. This was announced by the General Designer of JSC "Il" Nikolai Talikov. Now the plant in Zhukovsky is working on the first machine. At the moment, the task is to modernize all the "age-appropriate" front-line IL-76 BTA.
Two more IL-76 of the old version are in TANTK. They were transported there from Uzbekistan, from the Tashkent Aviation Production Association to them. Chkalov (TAPOiCH, now Tashkent Mechanical Plant), where in Soviet times, these machines were mass-produced. As it became known at MAKS, these two most ready platforms were bought by Israel from Uzbekistan. It is assumed that at their base will be built radar detection and control aircraft (DRLO and U) on the Indian option. New Delhi signed a contract in 2004 for the supply of three DRLO and U "Falcon" (Falcon) airplanes based on IL-76. In this case, an option was provided for the supply of two more similar machines. Probably, this order is being carried out on TANTK. In Taganrog, the aircraft corps will refine and later equip the Israeli Falcon radar.
UAC President Yury Slyusar informed that the implementation of the IL-96 program, which has not developed all of its modernization potential, continues. By the 2023 – 2025 years, the task is to organize the annual production of at least two or three IL-96 in VASO in different configurations, equipped with a tanker, control center and others. “We are discussing with colleagues the options for implementing a large number of special complexes on the basis of the IL-96. For us, the expansion of the line is the extension of the life of the aircraft, which is unique and in addition to ensuring the loading of VASO, remains the basic machine of a special flight unit for managing the affairs of the President, ”said Slyusar.
IL OJSC, meanwhile, is already developing a promising transport aircraft (PTS), which, according to Talikov, will be designated IL-106, its payload will reach 80 – 100 tons. A traditional scheme will be implemented in the sample. Previously it was assumed that the TCP can get a carrier fuselage. Externally, the general designer of the company said, the IL-106 will resemble the IL-76, but it will be a different aircraft. “We have made a technical project, now we are offering it to the RF Ministry of Defense. The customer gave his vision of this aircraft and its characteristics; we see that they coincide with our offer. While negotiations are underway, and when they end, we will be able to say something in time. ”
The KLA annual report states: “At the stage of project initiation, a super-heavy aircraft is under the designation PTS. Its maximum load capacity can reach 80, 160 or 240 tons. "
Also, the UAC continues to develop, together with India, a multi-purpose transport aircraft MTA (Multirole Transport Aircraft). The United Instrument Making Corporation (UIC) discussed at MAKS with the German company Rohde & Schwarz the possibility of joint development of a communications complex for the MTA.
As for the light military transport IL-112В, then its tests will be completed in 2019 year, after which serial deliveries will begin, said Talikov. Earlier, Deputy Defense Minister Yury Borisov said that the first IL-112 should take to the air in 2017. The military expects the aircraft factory in Voronezh to start mass production of these aircraft in 2019, and they are going to get at least 35 machines.
A lightweight IL-112 with a lifting capacity of six tons is created to replace the An-24 and An-26. JSC "IL" won the competition for the best project of a light military-technical cooperation back in 2003, then it was assumed that the military would get IL-112 already in 2006.
The CEO of Tekhnodinamika holding, Maxim Kuziuk, believes that the IL-112В can be equipped with a neutral gas system, according to which the company has unique developments. A prototype of this system was demonstrated at MAX-2015. "Technodinamika" entered the program to create IL-112В with the chassis and the elements of wing mechanization. Also, the holding has already signed a contract for OCR on the power supply system for IL-112В. It will use a generator without a hydraulic drive, which will increase the energy efficiency by 15 – 20 percent. The lack of hydraulic drive increases reliability and reduces the cost of the product. In addition, the mass of the system is reduced compared with analogues. Deliveries of prototypes should begin in the second half of 2015, state joint tests are scheduled two years later.
Another interesting aircraft with a difficult history - IL-114. Today the question of its reproduction in Russia is being decided. Previously, IL-114 was produced in Uzbekistan, on the TAPOiCH. Now, according to Talikov, the model is planned to be assembled at the Nizhny Novgorod aircraft plant (NAZ) Sokol. UAC President Yuri Slyusar confirmed that the reproduction of this aircraft in Russia is planned in the same way as IL-76MD-90А: the existing Il-114 gliders will be acquired from Uzbekistan for flight tests and, accordingly, a significant reduction in time and costs.
According to Talikov, the Il-114 is a remarkable aircraft in terms of performance, efficiency and service. Earlier, Sergei Korotkov, director general of RSK MiG, into which Sokol NAZ is integrated, stated that the corporation is ready to organize work on the IL-114 program together with Il OJSC at the facilities of the Nizhny Novgorod plant.
This is good news for the company "Radar MMS", which developed the search-sighting system "Kasatka" on the basis of the aircraft laboratory IL-114. According to the executive director Ivan Antsev, the complex of the open architecture includes optoelectronic, radioelectronic and magnetometric systems, as well as satellite communications. The Killer Whale allows real-time binding of the radar layer to the terrain map, which ensures the implementation of a whole complex of search, targeting and search and rescue tasks at the target detection range of 120 kilometers. Unification of the “Killer Whale” by types of carriers ensures its installation on various platforms - aircraft, helicopter, aerostat, ekranoplan.
Missile weapons
For the first time, Tactical Missile Weapons Corporation (KTRV) has presented its new aviation weapons (MAA) at MAKS-2015 for the first time. These include the Grom-E1 guided cruise missile and the Grom-EX NUMX cruise planning ammunition. These missiles are currently in the testing phase, KTRV General Director Boris Obnosov said.
Both weapons have a normal aerodynamic configuration and a unified configuration, which allows them to be placed in the internal compartment of the weapons of the aircraft carrier. The main difference between the “Thunder-E1” is the rocket engine in the tail section, while the “Thunder-E2” instead of the engine has an additional high-explosive fragmentation warhead.
All the basic parameters of the two new TSA classified. The developers only noted that the starting weight of each product is more than 600 kilograms. In this case, the mass of the warhead "Thunder-E1" - about 300 kilograms, and the "Thunder-E2" - more than 450. A combination guidance system is an inertial navigation system with trajectory correction based on GPS satellite system signals.
At the salon, one full-scale model was presented under the designation “Thunder-E1” / “Thunder-E2”, giving an idea of the aerodynamic design of two new TSA and the principle of their operation. After resetting the TSA from the carrier aircraft, the wing is deployed to the working position, and then the rocket engine is launched (from the Thunder-E1). The range of flight of both TSA must be sufficient to attack ground targets beyond the range of the target air defense weapons.
According to Boris Obnosov, the KTRV will develop twelve guided intra-body missiles specifically for the fifth-generation fighter PAK FA. The first six missiles will be created by 2017, and the remaining six by 2020. Four samples of intra-body placement for the PAK FA are already being tested. They will be ready by the time of the start of serial deliveries of the PAK FA fighters in 2017 to the VKS. Among them are the cruise missile "Thunder-E1" and its version without an engine - the planning cruise bomb "Thunder-E2", as well as the anti-radar missile (PRR) X-XNUMHUSHK.
Serial production of the new PI-X-XNUMHUSHK for fifth-generation fighters of the PAK FA will begin in the 58 year. This rocket has a new broadband passive GOS operating in all of these frequency ranges, overlapping the frequency ranges of all known types of ground-based radars from 2017 to 1,2 GHz.
The mass of the new rocket is 500 kilograms, the length is 4,19 meters, the span of the cruciform wing is 0,8 meters, and the body diameter is 0,38 meters. With folded tail, the cross-section of the rocket has a width and height of 0,4 meters. The rocket can be launched with the number M = 0,47 – 1,5, the flight range is 76 – 245 kilometers. The minimum range of the launch of a rocket from a height of 200 meters is 10 – 12 kilometers, the maximum flight speed is 4200 kilometers per hour. The probability of hitting a rocket in a circle with a radius of 20 meters, in the center of which is the active radar, is 0,8. The mass of the warhead - 149 kilograms. The rocket was developed by the state corporation “Raduga” of the corporation “TRV”, located in the city of Dubna, Moscow region, and will be mass-produced by this enterprise.
At the salon, KTRV also demonstrated a modified PRR X-58USHKE with a thermal imaging channel (TP). As explained at the corporation stand, the retrofitting of the X-58USHKE control system with a thermal imaging channel will increase the combat potential of front-carrier aircraft by increasing the likelihood of hitting radio-emitting targets using a pause mode of operation and also turning off the radiation during the flight of the PI in the final trajectory section.
The PR-X-58USHKE (TP) is designed for armament of MiG-35, Su-30МК, Su-34, Su-35 aircraft, which must be equipped with a target designation system and equipped with an AKU-58 type aviation starter. The X-58USHKE and X-58USHKE (TP) missiles can be used on advanced multi-purpose aircraft with intrafuseral placement from a UVKU-50 type launch device. The rocket is launched both on pre-programmed radar targets, and on targets that were quickly detected by the target designation system of the aircraft carrier.
It should be noted that the presence of scientific and technical reserves of the leading enterprises of KTRV allows them to offer effective TSA both inside and outside accommodation. At the salon, in particular, a modernized version of the famous X-59MK2 aviation missile was demonstrated. However, if earlier the turbojet engine of this rocket was located under the fuselage, it is now hidden in the fuselage. The reconfiguration of the rocket made it possible to place it in the intra-bodied compartment of the aircraft’s weapons, since the width and height of the X-59МК2 with a folded wing and aerodynamic surfaces are 0,4X0,4 meters. The change in the configuration of the missile also reduced its radar visibility. Combined guidance system: inertial navigation system with signal correction of the satellite system on the cruise and homing system on the final trajectory segment. With an 290 range of kilometers, a circular probable deviation from a given aiming point is only three meters.
One of the most eventful areas of the cabin has become a helicopter. The most discussed topics were the Arctic, the supply of new generation vehicles to the troops, export orders and interaction with the UAV.
But first of all it should be noted an event that previously passed unnoticed. This is a replenishment of the helicopter fleet of the Russian Armed Forces with the new Russian helicopter of the radar patrol (XRD) Ka-35. This topic was not discussed at any meeting of the industry and the military with journalists. Meanwhile, according to a source in the military-industrial complex, the newest Russian helicopter RLD Ka-35 was put into service.
“Scientific and technical background will allow increasing helicopter speeds up to 400 kilometers per hour at the initial stage and up to 450 and more - in the future”
He has not yet received the NATO codename (NATO reporting name). This follows from the documentation of the alliance, containing a list of designations of all aviation equipment of Soviet and Russian origin. The absence of the designation Ka-35 indicates that the rotary-wing machine was adopted recently. The Ka-27 / Ka-29 / Ka-31 helicopters, on the basis of which the Ka-35 was created, are included in the Helix family (Helix) with the assignment of an additional letter index (Helix-A / B / C / D). Probably, according to this principle, a new model will be designated.
A source in the military-industrial complex, at the same time, informed about the feasibility of upgrading the Ka-31: “Today he can actively return to the fleet to solve a number of tasks related to the use of the Ka-52K, since it is located on any ship and has the ability to carry heavy missiles. Issues related to the combat interaction of these helicopters may become relevant again. ”
Meanwhile, the head of the naval aviation of the Russian Navy, Major General Igor Kozhin, said that a replacement is being prepared for the deck Ka-27: “The work is underway, a fundamentally new helicopter will be created. You can wait for him from 2018 to 2020 year. " The machine, which in the future should replace the Ka-27, is intended primarily for the detection, tracking and destruction of submarines. The size of the helicopter will be tied to the ship standards, it will appear modules for the installation of weapons.
A certain sensation was the news received at the salon about Egypt’s ordering of Russian Ka-52 by Egypt. “So far, only the order has been issued, deliveries have not yet begun,” said a military diplomatic source, without specifying the volume and timing of deliveries, as well as the modification.
The volume of the ordered batch can be judged by the report of the Precision Instrument Engineering Systems Research and Production Corporation (NPK “SPP”), according to which Egypt, during the 2016 – 2019 period, will be supplied with 50 units of the new OEC-52 optical-electronic system for equipment of combat helicopters Ka-52. At present, these rotary-wing machines are equipped with the GOES-451 complex manufactured by the Ural Optical and Mechanical Plant (UOMZ, part of the Shvabe holding). It is not known, however, whether spare ECOs are included in the supply list.
The Egyptian Armed Forces now have AH-45D Apache Longbow (Apache Longbow) helicopters manufactured by Boeing and 64 SA55L Gazelle (Gazelle) helicopters from Aerospatiale, a French company, in a shock configuration. Traditionally, Cairo adhered to the policy of purchasing weapons from various producing countries, so the decision to order Ka-342 does not look unusual, especially considering the situation with the activation of Islamists in the Sinai Peninsula region.
As for the ship version of the Ka-52K, its deliveries to the troops, as well as another new model, the Mi-28HM, will begin in the near future, said the general director of the holding Russian Helicopters Alexander Mikheyev. In turn, the Commander-in-Chief of the VKS, Viktor Bondarev, said that after the termination of the agreement on the Mistrals, the deck version of the Ka-52K will be transferred to the naval and army aviation of Russia.
Arctic course
The focus on the cabin was the upgraded version of the combat Mi-28H "Night Hunter" - Mi-28HM. It has been developed since 2009, and is currently undergoing tests, which should be completed in 2016. Mi-28HM differs significantly from the basic version and is an all-weather round-the-clock helicopter that will receive new navigation and reconnaissance systems, optics and a control system that allows blind landing. A number of new Mi-28HM is first used on Russian helicopters. This, in particular, is about the helmet-mounted target designation system and supra-sleeve radar.
An innovative helmet-based target designation and indication system, which will be included in the Mi-28HM avionics, was presented at the salon. The system was developed by the Ryazan State Instrument Plant (GRPZ) and is designed to display visual information necessary for the pilot against the background of the surrounding space. It also provides targeting of aviation weapons to objects that are not only directly on the course, but also in any surveyed area.
As for the new H025 radar for the Mi-28HM, its state tests will be completed within a year, said Igor Nasenkov, first deputy general director of the Radio Electronic Technologies concern (KRET). Tests of three copies of the station are conducted on three machines. Nasenkov noted that Mi-28HE helicopters with radars of the H025E simplified configuration are being exported, however, Russian troops still receive vehicles that are not equipped with a new radar.
“As for the Russian customer, there is a certain regulation here - until we carry out state tests, we have not successfully completed them, we cannot serially deliver the Н025 radar. The helicopter flies without this radar. I think it will take another year to complete all the tests, ”said Nasenkov.
The special feature of the Х025 is, in particular, the location in the nadvtulochny fairing, above the helicopter rotor, which allows for all-round visibility.
“Russian Helicopters” in the cabin noted that the Mi-28HM, like the other newest Russian military Mi-35М, will receive new main propeller blades in the future, this will significantly increase the cruising (by 13%) and maximum (by 10%) speed. Now the maximum speed of the Mi-28H is 340 kilometers per hour. On the Mi-35M helicopter, the new blades will increase the maximum speed by 13 percent and cruising speed - by 30.
New blades with saber-shaped tips and special thickening were installed on the demonstrator of a promising high-speed helicopter (PSV), created on the basis of the Mi-24. Its full-scale model was first demonstrated at MAX-2015. The first flight of the demonstrator PSV, the construction of the flight copy of which ends at the MVZ them. M. L. Mila, scheduled for December. This will be a laboratory for full-scale flight tests of elements of the PSV carrier system, which is its main structural difference from the basic Mi-24K. In the design of the new rotor introduced the latest domestic developments in the field of aerodynamics, strength and manufacturing technology.
In the works on the PSV program, it is planned to create a scientific and technical groundwork to increase the flight speed to 400 kilometers per hour at the initial stage and to 450 and more - later. Meanwhile, the KRET concern presented at the air show a complex of avionics for PSV, which will also be tested in a flying laboratory. The new complex corresponds to the concept of integrated modular avionics.
The Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant (UUAZ), carrying out the state defense order, said that the flight tests of the Mi-8AMTSH-VA, designed to work in the Far North, had begun. Measures will be taken to verify that the characteristics of the helicopter comply with the requirements specification of the customer, the Ministry of Defense of Russia. The helicopter is intended for assault transport support of the actions of the Arctic group of troops, their support from the air, and monitoring of specified areas of responsibility. Its tasks also include the search and rescue of crews and passengers in distress of aircraft and ships on the Northern Sea Route.
The Mi-8AMTSH-VA is built on the basis of the newest version of the military transport helicopter of the Mi-8 / 17 series - the Mi-8AMTSH-B. These samples are available from the end of 2014 and are supplied by state defense order.
The development of a specialized Arctic machine began at UUAZ in the middle of last year, and already in December, the holding company "Helicopters of Russia" launched its own production of prototype at its own expense.
The Arctic version gets more powerful compared to the basic power plant, the technologies used on spacecraft are used for cabin insulation. The main task in creating the Mi-8AMTSH-VA was the adaptation of the machine to the conditions of low temperatures and limited visibility, loss of satellite signals and other features of work in the High North. The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation believes that the need of the army for such helicopters can be up to one hundred cars. On the basis of the Arctic Mi-8AMTSH-VA it is planned to create a commercial version of the machine.
However, the general designer of the company "Kamov" Sergey Mikheev noted that the helicopters based on the Ka-52 are also being finalized for use in the Arctic. The design of the Ka-52 for Army Aviation includes improvements developed by the ship version program. Among them is a developed electronic complex, a system for folding blades and other innovations.
The ship variant Ka-52K will also be in demand in the Arctic. “Exactly the configuration that we see at the salon will be made for this region,” Mikheev informed. He stressed that the folding blades are fundamental for the use of helicopters of this type in the Arctic, where they will be based in small hangars. “This is our know-how. The system allows you to add four helicopter blades per minute. In the future, any part of the Ka-52 combat helicopter will be equipped with this system, ”the general designer promised.
According to the commander-in-chief of the VKS, Viktor Bondarev, the latest Mi-38 can also be used in the Arctic. The serial assembly of these helicopters began in the summer in Kazan. It is expected that the type certificate for this machine will be received before the end of the year. “Yesterday we watched Mi-38 both on the ground and in the air. This is a great helicopter that has occupied a niche in the line of cars between the middle-class model of the Mi-8 and the heavy Mi-26, ”said Bondarev at the cabin. He stressed that the VKS will necessarily acquire the Mi-38: “It is equipped with a new engine with increased propulsion, has an increased payload, range and speed of flight. Beautiful car.
The United Engine Corporation and the Kazan 15 helicopter plant on July entered into a contract to supply the first batch of TV7-117В engines for Mi-38 in the amount of 50 units. The ceremony of awarding the type certificate for this motor took place at the salon. The cost of the contract for 50 TV7-117 - 3,922 billion rubles. It will be implemented in the period of 2016 – 2019 by the cooperation of JDC enterprises. Next year, the corporation should supply eight engines to the customer, 2017 in 12, and 14 and 16 in subsequent years.
The All-Russian Research Institute of Aviation Materials (VIAM) and Russian Helicopters have agreed to cooperate in the development of new protective and anti-icing coatings for machines operating in the Arctic. At the salon, the parties signed an agreement. Technodinamika plans to adapt its developments to the conditions of the Arctic, making it possible to use them at temperatures up to 60 – 65 degrees below zero, said the head of the holding company, Maxim Kuzyuk. According to him, there are a number of plans to bring the temperature range to minus 60 – 65 degrees Celsius. As an example, Kuzyuk cited the Russian-French project of an auxiliary power plant for Safire helicopters (Saphir 15). Its prototype, designed for medium-sized machines such as the Mi and Ka, should appear before the end of the year, certification tests are planned to be completed in 2018.
Unmanned driven
The topic of interaction of helicopters with a UAV, sounded at MAKS-2015, became very interesting. Moreover, at the salon this issue not previously mentioned in the media remained in the shadow. It was possible to calculate it by analyzing and comparing a number of facts: the plans of Russian Helicopters to develop an unmanned convertoplane, the signing of an appropriate agreement with Skolkovo by the holding, presented at the cabin with various new-generation equipment for UAVs and helicopters.
In particular, the signing of an agreement on cooperation in the development of promising UAVs between VR-Technologies (part of the Russian Helicopters holding) and the Aerob company, a resident of the Skolkovo Foundation's space cluster, went unnoticed. Meanwhile, it means that the helicopter holding is interested in the innovative software and hardware complex. It is an intelligent unified modular automatic control system for UAVs that implements functional and fault-tolerant scaling, integral control taking into account external influences, expert situational control, embedding in centralized control systems for groups drones.
In the annual report of the cost center them. M. L. Mil in the “State Defense Order” section reported that last year an integral part of the design and development work “860 Product” was carried out, within which design documentation was developed, two helicopters “860 Product” were drilled with UAV control equipment, ground-based and flight tests. According to experts, we are talking about the Mi-8.
Russian Helicopters presented a project of a promising multi-purpose unmanned aircraft designed according to a convertoplan. The aim of the project is to create a family of high-speed multi-purpose rotary-wing aircraft, explained in the holding. The main objective of the project at this stage is to identify critical technologies and systems necessary for the further creation of a whole family of convertiplanes with different maximum take-off mass, both manned and unmanned.
The United Instrument-Making Corporation (OPK) and Russian Helicopters have signed an agreement under which helicopters will be equipped with sixth generation avionics. “Developments in the field of aviation communications equipment of the fifth and sixth generations, integrated modular avionics are of particular interest, as they are able to provide our technology with new advantages in terms of efficiency, quality, communication range, its secrecy, noise immunity and reliability,” said Alexander Mikheev. Alexander Yakunin, general director of the defense industry, said that the corporation will create control automation systems and communications systems for helicopter technology based on new technologies that are currently being intensively developed.
In turn, Sergey Mikheev, to whom they turned for a corresponding explanation, said that the company is exploring the possibility of pairing the Ka-52 Alligator and UAV attack and reconnaissance helicopter in a single combat system: “This is a very promising direction, working in pairs is a completely competent approach , since the tactical and hardware capabilities of an unmanned helicopter have grown and help ensure the effectiveness and safety of the manned machine. Such a bundle will absolutely exist in the ranks of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. "
The company is ready for the task of the Defense Ministry to develop an unmanned helicopter. “The only thing is in the customer, from an engineering point of view, everything is clear and technically feasible, so we will do it,” the Kamov representative added. Previously, the helicopter and drone mates were used by the US military for the Apache Guardian (Apache Guardian) AH-64E and Shadow (Shadow) RV-7B UAVs.
The cabin also discussed the possibilities for improving the flight and functional characteristics of the Ansat helicopter. To increase the range, it is planned to upgrade the fuel system with a volume of about 750 kilograms and install additional fuel tanks with a volume of up to 200 kilograms.
Technodinamika developed an accident-resistant fuel system that successfully passed the first stage of testing. The system is designed for "hard landing" helicopters. In this case, it is important to protect the tanks, avoid fuel leakage and, as a consequence, fire. The system is primarily designed for transport and passenger helicopters, but solutions will be replicated for other types of aircraft.
The head of "Russian Helicopters" Alexander Mikheev said that within six months it is planned to submit a program to resume the production of amphibious aircraft Mi-14. It was produced from 1973 to 1986 year and was operated in more than 20 countries. “We are now considering this program in the holding - we are looking at the technological groundwork, how the renewal of a helicopter with a new avionics will correspond to prices on the market,” explained Mikheev. “In the next six months, we must complete this work and pass on the proposals to the interested parties.”
On-board equipment
Novelties in the field of onboard equipment of aircraft on the cabin was enough. But the greatest interest among specialists, especially Western ones, was caused by the demonstration of the active phased antenna array (AFAR) for the fifth generation fighter, as well as the cylindrical AFAR developed by the NIIP named after A. V.V. Tikhomirov. For the first time in the UAC pavilion, the PAK FA antenna system was fully represented: AFAR of the front X-band, AFAR of the lateral X-band and wing AFAR of the L-band. As the general director of the company, Yuri Bely, noted, on the flight tests of the PAK FA, the antenna system shows very good credit and demonstrates high reliability. In actual operation of AFAR, the failure of approximately 10 percent of its modules, especially if they are scattered around the antenna web, has practically no effect on its characteristics.
At the present time, as Bely noted, testing of the interaction of the AFAR with the means of destruction begins at the field tests. There is a consistent increase in the characteristics of the equipment to the requirements of the technical specifications.
There could be more contracts
The program of international military-technical cooperation MAKS-2015 was less intense than expected. Agreements on the supply of weapons and military equipment were signed with Belarus. Irkut Corporation has concluded a contract for the supply of four UkS Yak-130 to this country, which will be transferred to the customer at the end of 2016 at the Lida airbase. In April, the first batch of Yak-2015 under the contract concluded in 130 was transferred to 2013 of Belarus. A very important fact in this transaction is that the contract with the Ministry of Defense of Belarus for the supply of the Yak-130 was signed by Irkut directly, without the participation of Rosoboronexport. The company in the near future should receive the right to supply aircraft to other countries of the CSTO. As the representative of “Irkut” informed, deliveries of the Yak-130 of Belarus can be continued in the near future, Kazakhstan and Armenia are showing interest in acquiring the aircraft.
Rosoboronexport signed a contract with the Ministry of Defense of Belarus for the supply in 2016 of five combat vehicles from the Tor-M2K air defense system.
Sergei Korotkov, General Director of the Russian Aircraft Manufacturing Corporation (RSK) MiG, said that RSK is negotiating to complete the modernization of the MiG-29 fighter jets that are in service with a Latin American country. Venezuela has already received the first division of the Buk-M2E air defense system on a wheeled chassis, and currently another batch is being delivered to this country. Iran informed about active negotiations, as a result of which two types of Russian combat aircraft could be acquired.
Also at the salon it became known about the delivery to Iraq of the next batches of attack helicopters Mi-35М and Mi-28НЭ "Night Hunter". Four Mi-35М and four Mi-28НЭ exported in full combat configuration and equipped with night vision equipment. Earlier it was reported that 2016 year inclusive Baghdad will receive a total of 43 combat helicopters, including the 24 Mi-35М and 19 Mi-28Н. These machines are planned to be used to combat terrorist groups. Iraq has now received 16 MI-35M and 11 MI-28HE.
