Obama cheated
The fact that the high ranks of the Pentagon are subject to editing reports on the activities of "IG", wrote in an exclusive material the American edition "The Daily Beast". Article authors: Shane Harris and Nancy Yusef (Shane Harris, Nancy A. Youssef).
"The Daily Beast" reports on the "uprising of intelligence pros": the scouts saw how their "honest assessment" of the war "IG" turns into a farce.
More 50 intelligence analysts working for the Central Command of the United States Armed Forces (CENTCOM) have formally filed a complaint about the misrepresentation of their reports on the activities of the IG and Al Qaeda branches in Syria. According to them, the documents were “improperly edited” by “senior officials”. The scouts themselves said “The Daily Beast”.
The complaint led to the start of the investigation under the supervision of the Pentagon’s inspector general. Currently, an investigation into the alleged intellectual manipulation of intelligence data is already underway.
The fact, the newspaper notes that such a large number of intelligence officers complain at the same time, implies "deep-rooted, systemic problems" in the activities of the US military command. One employee of the Ministry of Defense even said about the "cancer" that hit "the highest echelon of the intelligence command."
A written complaint sent to the Inspector General of the Ministry of Defense, two senior analysts of the Central Command signed in July 2015. They claim that the documents that Obama laid on the table depicted terrorist groups as weaker than analysts themselves described them. The CENTCOM authorities believed that it was necessary to adhere to the “general line” (and I would like to add - the party. - O. Ch.), Part of which was the general statement about the upcoming US victory over IG, the Front al-Nusra and other branches. Al Qaeda "in Syria. So say two analysts who were supported by another 50 people. Some of them had previously complained about the "politicization" of intelligence reports for several months already. 11, a man of them who are well aware of the details, spoke to The Daily Beast reporters on condition of anonymity.
A large number of people monitoring the work of terrorist groups believe that their data is subsequently manipulated. In principle, there is nothing new; the White House was allowed to lie before - for example, when it came to unconventional weapons Iraq (2002 and 2003).
Analysts have backed up specific reports and are ready to provide evidence. One of them, who is familiar with the content of the complaint, said that in his description he even used the definition of “Stalinist” to describe the methods of activity of the officials who control the analysis of military information.
Who exactly is accused? The publication indicates that the complaint concerns senior commanders. These include the director of intelligence himself and his deputy at CENTCOM. These bosses edited analytical reports, driving them to the pattern adopted in the Obama administration, according to which the struggle against the "IG" and "Al-Qaeda" is conducted successfully.
In reality, analysts have a much more pessimistic view of the US military efforts toward terrorists.
The complaint also claims that in some cases, the most important fragments of intelligence reports were simply deleted, and as a result, the analysts' conclusions in the documents lost their original meaning.
Going beyond the actual changes to the reports, the complaint authors accused some senior commanders of "creating a non-professional working environment." Many of them insist that those who deal with such document distortions could not give an objective assessment of the situation in Iraq and Syria. Some believe that this activity is aimed at ensuring their careers.
Some analyst reports were rejected altogether: “lowered down the chain of command,” or they simply were not given a turn.
Two of the officials who spoke with The Daily Beast clarified that analysts began filing their complaints back in October last year as part of efforts to resolve domestic problems. However, their initiative has stalled at the level of the inspector general. Moreover, some of the complainants were “strongly recommended” to resign. And some did.
Meanwhile, John Kerry (in March, 2015) cheerfully reported on the impending destruction of the IG. Later, in May, Obama spoke out on this topic as well.
But intelligence analysts do not think so. Many of them, who had served since the beginning of the Iraq campaign, have “scars in their souls”: the distorted reports of the scouts led to the fabrication of allegations of “weapons of mass destruction” in Iraq. They then formed the basis of the policy of the administration of George W. Bush, who unleashed the war.
History with the complaint received continuation.
As the Gazeta.ru, the head of the Pentagon Ashton Carter expressed dissatisfaction with the quality of intelligence provided to his office.
At a meeting with high-ranking military intelligence officials, Mr. Carter said that he was expecting “military information without lacquering reality” from military intelligence.
Following the meeting, Pentagon press secretary Peter Cook told journalists that these words of the Minister of Defense were a reaction to a recent report by the Inspector General of the Pentagon, according to which some of the data on the IG was distorted.
As a result, we add from ourselves, in favor of career and selfish interests, and at the same time to polish the blown political image of the inhabitants of the White House, an absurd picture of what is happening appears in the media: Islamist militants are attacking, capturing cities in Syria, their numbers and wealth are increasing, they are boldly they sell oil and cut off people's heads, and Kerry and Obama, with smiles, report successes and victories and declare that the days of IG are numbered. I remember the elderly Leonid Ilyich Brezhnev, who did not like to receive bad reports from Andropov, but he liked to be decorated with orders.
