64
The parliamentary ethics committee was assembled in Lithuania due to the fact that Klaipeda city council deputy Vyacheslav Titov openly stated during one of his speeches that Lithuania is a typical representative of the fascist states. It should be noted that Vyacheslav Titov named the fascist state of Lithuania several weeks ago in connection with the expulsion from the country by Lithuanian border guards of Tatyana Zhdanok Alexander Kuzmins, adviser to the European Parliament deputy from Latvia, Alexander Rzhavins, a Latvian historian and a representative of the anti-fascist movement Joseph Koren. This is reported by the portal. Delphi.
Then Titov said that if Lithuania prohibits entry into the country to those citizens of the European Union who are fighting against fascism and Nazism, then it itself belongs to the number of fascist states.
As a result, the ethics committee began discussing the statement of the Klaipėda deputy representing the city department of the Union of Russians of Lithuania. Vyacheslav Titov himself called it the Baltic Circus.
On his page Vkontakte Vyacheslav Titov wrote:
Baltic circus came to Klaipeda. The sight was amazing. As the ruling politicians pushed their man to the post of chairman of the Commission on Ethics, bypassing the law.
Lithuanian media have stated that Titov’s words about Lithuania as a fascist state "were subjected to a barrage of criticism."
