The network has a snapshot of the latest Russian drone "Corsair"

Apparently, this is a new tactical UAV, created in the framework of the project "Corsair" for the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. The first information about the signing of a contract for the development of this device appeared in the Russian media in 2013, however, representatives of the group did not confirm it.

Already in 2015, on the eve of the Army-2015 exhibition, a representative of the United Instrument-Making Corporation, into which the Vega concern is currently integrated, spoke about creating a prototype of a small-class reconnaissance UAV Corsair.

On the snapshot hit the network, it can be seen that the device is made according to the traditional two-beam scheme with tail plumage in the form of a reverse V and a pushing screw.

According to a leading expert in the field drones Denis Fedutinov, this photo confirms the assumption that Russian specialists are creating a UAV close in dimension to the American Shadow, which was actively used during the Iraqi and Afghan campaigns of the US Army.

“It can be assumed that Corsair will apparently be able to carry out reconnaissance at distances up to 100 kilometers, remaining in the air for 8-12 hours,” he noted.

At a press conference before the opening of the MAKS-2015 air show, OPK General Director Alexander Yakunin reported that prototypes of small-sized Corsair unmanned aerial vehicles will start entering the Russian army at the end of next year, and their mass production will be launched in the first quarter of 2017 and before the end of the year is planned to reach the design capacity.

I hope that soon there will be a Large, distant, strike drone with the ability to carry various types of weapons, from free-fall bombs to air-to-ground missiles.
Probably for this you need to have a special satellite constellation to be able to control anywhere in the world.

In childhood, even during the USSR, he was fond of aircraft modeling .... looking at this glider, he remembered the golden time ... there were no cameras then and the radio control systems were antediluvian but did something similar.

It is a Aileron-3 weighing 3,5 kg. Description below.

Remote surveillance complex T23 "Eleron" is designed to monitor the ground situation, protect territories and objects from the air.
      The complex includes:
+ Unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) T23E is the carrier of the target equipment of television, photo or thermal imaging and serves to deliver it to a given area and return to the landing site in accordance with a given route.
+ The portable NSI T23U based on a control computer with two full-color graphic LCD monitors is intended for route preparation, UAV flight control and real-time display of video information coming from a TV camera installed on the UAV.
+ The starting device is designed to prepare and launch the UAV of the Eleron-3 family at the starting position.

In order to reduce the overall dimensions of the UAV, the “flying wing” aerodynamic design was made, the folding consoles of which ensure its storage in a container with dimensions not exceeding 0.9 x 0.5 x 0.12 m.
The UAV is equipped with an electric motor located in the rear of the fuselage, with a pushing screw.
The UAV is launched using a rubber harness or a pneumatic catapult.
Due to the design features, small size, and electric power plant, the UAV in flight has very low optical, acoustic, and radar visibility.
UAV landing is carried out using a parachute system from a height of 30 m to an unprepared site of limited size.
Aileron-3 small UAV with an ejection launch using a rubber band. The preparation time for the device to start from the stowed position takes 15 minutes. The range is from 15 to 25 (in photovariant) km with a flight duration of 90-120 minutes. Flight altitude up to 3000 m. An electric motor is used as a power plant. Landing is carried out by parachute method.
With a maximum take-off weight of 3,5 kg, Aileron-3 can carry up to 0,5 kg of payload. It may include a TV camera, an IR camera, a camera, a repeater, radio intelligence stations and jamming.
Aileron-3 can fly autonomously, in radio command mode, in flyby mode or multiple passes over a given point. Return to the starting point is automatic. For navigation, GPS and GLONASS systems are used.

Of them like drums only two devices are announced. At the same time, Skat (with a planned combat load of 1 - 3 tons) is still in design prototypes. I haven't heard of flight tests - the buzzword is "promising". Also, the beam with a combat load of 150 - 170 kg was made according to available information only in two copies for testing and demonstrations at exhibitions. request So - like this - so far, practically, nothing.
Most UAVs declared as multi-purpose, i.e. it seems like they can also be shocked, so light that they can strike only by themselves if they go into the forehead of the Yusovsky Pindohotan.

Explicitly, LDPE. You cannot push a cannon or a machine gun with ammunition into such a thin wing.

The main thing is that work is underway, which means the result will be. We need to catch up with the adversary in this area, and the lag is very serious. Indeed, the amers already have X-47В, which sits on the deck of an aircraft carrier.
Whether the work on the SKAT project is ongoing with us is a big question. But it is obvious that we need a strike UAV up to 20t.

Why exactly this? I remember this figure was mentioned from "Sukhoi", why, for example, for a start not to make a drone on the Yak-130 platform?

Maybe they will, but we must understand that we need a lot of UAVs of different classes. At the same time, production should be as simple and fast as possible. We are not only qualitatively behind the leaders in this matter, but also quantitatively.
        Sincerely. hi

For effective reconnaissance, it is necessary to make UAVs with solar batteries, so that they could barrage in the upper atmosphere for several weeks. In cloudy weather, charge above the clouds, conduct electronic reconnaissance and work as repeaters, and decrease at night for optoelectronic reconnaissance.
