Ex-mayor of Makhachkala sentenced to life imprisonment
From the statement of the judge who passed the sentence:
Along with Amirov, Yusup Dzhaparov, Murad Aliyev, Magomed Kadiyev, Zubair Mutai and the three Akhmedov brothers were on trial in loud cases related to criminal activities in Dagestan. They were found guilty of preparing and committing terrorist acts, as well as an attempt on the life and health of citizens, illegal possession and wearing weapons. The court decided to deprive them of their liberty for various periods of time: from 10 to 22 years of a strict regime colony.
In particular, Said Amirov and Yusup Dzhaparov (nephew of the former Makhachkala mayor) were found guilty of preparing a terrorist act against the deputy of the National Assembly of Dagestan Sagid Murtazaliyev. The investigation established that the criminals had intended to use MANPADS to attack the passenger plane in which the official was.
Thus, Said Amirov became the first in stories Russian Federation, the former head of the city, received a life sentence.
