The mixed aviation regiment of the Eastern Military District is based here, covering 2000 kilometers of the state border of Russia. “Our area of responsibility is from Baikal to Amur,” the pilots say.
The regiment, having a glorious military history, in recent years has gained a new life. He became the first combat unit of the Armed Forces of Russia, which received the newest multi-purpose double fighter Su-30CM.
The first Su-30CM fighters belonging to the “4 ++” generation arrived in Domnu in November 2013. The equipment of the regiment was completed in 2014 in the year.
The regiment is staffed by a flight and technical staff, which has completed a full course of training in the combat use and operation of the Su-30CM. The pilots of the Lipetsk training center, as well as specialists and test pilots of the Irkut corporation helped them master a fundamentally new car.
The Su-30SM flights in Domna began in December 2013. Intensive combat training was under special control of the command - in February 2014, the first military unit armed with new fighters was inspected by the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Aerospace Force Viktor Bondarev.
Already in July, 2014, the regiment pilots took part in the district exercises with live firing. According to official information, during the exercises, the crews of Su-30CM fighters conducted aerial reconnaissance and destruction of aircraft and unmanned aerial enemy vehicles, and also improved their skills in hitting strategic ground targets.
Su-30M - multi-purpose aircraft. In the same sortie, they are able to fight with air and ground targets. The regiment, armed with Su-30CM, can take on the tasks that were previously solved by parts of different types of aircraft.
The regiment continues intensive military training. Flights are performed almost daily.
Su-30CM, developing the line of Su-30MKI / MKM fighters, has been well developed in production. This ensures high technical readiness of the aircraft fleet.
It is supported by the Irkut guarantee group. By the way, all the 650 kilometers from Domna are up to Irkutsk.
Next to the Su-30CM parked - attack aircraft Su-25. These aircraft are also in service with the regiment, which is why it is called "mixed". Squadron Su-25 is the historical name "Mongolian arat", obtained during the Great Patriotic War. The first aircraft of the squadron - La-5 fighters - were built with funds raised by the people of Mongolia.
Although the Su-30CM is incomparably more complex aircraft than the Su-25, according to technicians, it was as simple to maintain as its famous predecessor.
The new cars in the regiment met with enthusiasm. Here is a quote from the speech of one of the Su-30CM navigators: “The plane is awesome! The school practiced on the Tu-134Sh and An-26Sh.
