Czech Free Press: The crisis in Russia is a hoax invented by the West
"In Russia, the economic crisis, because its GDP has fallen," is a typical simplistic view of Western economists, caused by market chaos. However, the decline in the growth of gross domestic product does not mean a crisis, as Western politicians and economists are trying to convince us, writes Czech Free Press.
Even if Russia, due to "senseless Western sanctions" and low oil prices, began to export and produce a little less raw materials and products than before, which caused a decline in GDP, then why should it necessarily mean that the country has started an economic crisis, is perplexed Czech edition.
For small countries that are not self-sufficient with respect to raw materials, such a situation could cause problems, the author notes. Exports of goods produced by them are declining. Accordingly, they have to either reduce their own purchases, or buy into debt, as the USA does, emphasizes the publication. However, in the case of Russia, this is nothing more than an “illusion and deception” on the part of Western leaders, who thus hope to reassure voters in their countries, who have noticeable loss of profits due to anti-Russian sanctions, says Czech Free Press.
Meanwhile, Russia would have survived even with the worst scenario, that is, “if Obama’s unreal dream had come true” and the country would be in complete economic isolation from the whole world, the author of the article is convinced. He argues that by the fact that before the Second World War the situation was developing in this way, and in the Soviet Union this caused “the largest GDP growth in stories mankind ”, amounting to 15-30 percent per year.
As the newspaper notes, Russia is a country that has everything: vast natural resources and fields for growing crops, taiga, rivers, mountains, forests, seas, oil, coal, all common and rare metals. However, its main wealth is the people who, when attacking it, not only do not give up, but rally and gather all the forces to get out of the difficulties created from the outside, the author is convinced.
All this allows him to conclude that a temporary decline in Russia's GDP, even more significant than “those 5 percent that Western economists are publicly saying today,” does not mean a crisis at all. The decline in economic indicators is caused by a complete reorganization of the economy, which is reoriented to Asia in foreign trade, and in domestic production it is engaged in defining new goals and priorities, the publication explains.
Therefore, if Western economists want to talk about the crisis so much, then they should talk about the situation of the United States, whose external debt is about 150 percent of GDP without taking into account the debts of individual states. At the same time, Russia's foreign debt amounts to only 16 percent of GDP, which is much less than the world average debt level, Czech Free Press emphasizes.
