In late June, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev took part in the opening of a new naval base in the village of Puta in the Garadagh district of Baku, the blog reported bmpd with reference to the presidential site.

As the press service noted, “the construction of administrative, office buildings, structures of the new naval base, which is the largest and most modern military facility in the Caspian basin, and the N military unit began in October 2010 of the year”.

“The command post of the base manages the Navy, creates all possibilities for exercising control over the surface situation in the sector of the Caspian Sea belonging to the Republic of Azerbaijan. Operational data on the surface situation are received at the point by means of radar stations installed on the coastal and island radio-technical posts belonging to the Navy. All detected targets are reflected on the monitors in real time, ”the release says.

On the site in 254 ha, staff buildings, residential buildings and 10 coastal sailor dormitories, soldiers' canteens and other facilities were erected. A modern polyclinic has been built, in which there is an inpatient unit on the 32 beds.

"At the second stage of the construction of the military unit, it is planned to create areas for the maintenance and repair of ships and cars, additional berths, warehouses, officers' houses, a kindergarten and a school, a club and a sports town," the statement reads.

Particularly impressed with the parade ground and, accordingly, the labor costs for its maintenance. While they are building such parade ground, the Armenians need not worry.

The Caspian Sea is the largest inland lake, namely lake, and the Azerbaijanis have the "lake" fleet and there is nothing serious there and in fact cannot be, so the coast guard is nothing more.

Quiet, modest, neat, but just great. And then we just shout and report, but a little sense. Look at the Novorossiysk base, and no matter how. And here it does not bother anyone, it is not visible from land. Well done. Not when I did not think that I would praise Azerbaijan.

And what is this expressed in? what Most of the "warships" of the Azerbaijani Navy are outright old stuff, which for the most part are in a deplorable technical condition. The combat value of these "warships" is more than questionable. They cannot resist Iran, let alone Russia in the Caspian.

In this photo "control ship" T710, which is a training ship of pr.888 (until 1992 "Oka") built for the USSR Navy in Poland in 1976. As weapons, they use hopelessly outdated 25 mm artillery guns and RBU models of the 50s.

The view of the structure is impressive. Man-made dams alone did not require small expenses. Every self-respecting country should take care of its defense and development of the armed forces.

Azerbaijan has quite a few, it got the 30% floating and 100% coastal CFL base, but an extremely weak fleet. So in the composition of the Azerbaijani Navy there is not a single ship with missile weapons.
    - the flagship ship of the Azerbaijani Navy SKR "G-121 Gusars", the former SKR project 159A "SKR-16 Bakuets". Complete overhaul with replacement of the propulsion system. Also, during the repair, 400-mm torpedo tubes and RBU-6000 were removed, and two 30-mm AK-230 assault rifles were installed behind the wheelhouse.

Quite a lot in the Navy of Azerbaijan patrol ships-7, which are armed auxiliary ships CFL:
-1 former rescue boat project 368U
    -1 former ship of radiation-chemical reconnaissance project 1388Р (КРХ-1)
-3 former training ships of the UK-3 project (Polish construction)
-2 ship of the project 722, Polish built
    1499M Project Patrol Boat
former Turkish Navy patrol boat, "Turk" type
    4 minesweeper: 2 BTscht Ave 1265, 2 RTsch Ave 1258
    4 SDK Ave 770 and 771
    2 MDK Ave. 106K
    2 landing craft pr. 1785
    As part of the BOHR;
4 patrol boats of the 205 Ave. Partially disarmed (removed by TKA)

1 missile boat pr. 205U (formerly P-173), from which the container launchers of anti-ship missiles P-15U were removed

1 American-built Point Jackson class patrol boat
2 patrol boats of American construction.
However, recently Azerbaijan has been trying to strengthen its navy. For example, the private Croatian shipyard Adria-Mar, located on the Adriatic coast, has begun repairing the Triton-1M and Triton-2M divers' ultra-small submarines built in the USSR in the 1970s.

For Coast Guard collected two patrol boats type Shaldag Mk V built Israel Shipyards Israeli company who armed tank for remotely controlled automatic installation Rafael Typhoon (presumably using one 23-mm automatic cannon 2A14 from ZU-23-2), the two remote-controlled units Rafael Mini with 12,7-mm machine guns, two 7,62-mm machine guns, and some chetyrehzaryadnym installation guided missile system. Judging by the materials to another project of Israel Shipyards, this could be the launcher of the Rafael Spike-NLOS missile system.

Also in Israel, two Saar 4.5 boats were ordered as a patrol boat, built up to the 2017 year.
Azerbaijan is also showing interest in our Bal-E SCRC.

The Caspian flotilla, now probably our only naval alliance that can solve the tasks assigned to it in full and destroy any of the fleets in the Caspian Sea opposing it:
      - 2 missile defense systems pr. 1166.1, moreover "Dagestan", with the "Caliber-NK" complex. Tatarstan "- undergoing repairs and modernization. The work should be completed in the summer of 2015. According to one of the versions, the Kalibr-NK RC is installed on it, instead of the X-35 Uranus, since the planned for KFl MRK pr. 21631 (in total it was planned 5 According to the unofficial version, due to the appearance of the Iranian diesel-electric submarine Fateh in the Caspian Sea, with a displacement of 500 tons, it was decided to convert the Tatarstan into an anti-submarine ship, due to the complete absence of these in the CFL.

      - 3 MRK pr. 21631 with the "Caliber NK" complex

      - 3 MAC Ave 21630

      - 1 MAC Ave 1241,
      - 1 RCA pr. 12411T with 4 anti-ship missiles P-15 "Termit", according to some reports under repair

      - 4 artillery boats pr. 1204

      - 1 AKA pr. 1400M "Grif"
      - 1 PRDKA 21980 "Rook"
      8 DKA (6 Project 11770 "Serna", 1 Project 1176 "Shark", 1 Project 21820 "Dugong")

      7 minesweepers (2 TSF Ave 12650, 1 RTSch Ave 1258, 2 RTSch Ave 10750, 2 RTSch Ave 697TB)
True, last year 3 RCA pr.206 were withdrawn from the flotilla, but this was predictable, since they were replaced by MRK pr. 21631, and besides, armed with the outdated P-15 Termit anti-ship missiles, they could not fight modern air defense.

        Iran is the next largest navy in the Caspian. In their composition;
        - "destroyer" is essentially a light frigate Velayat, type (Jamaran - laid down in 2007, transferred to the fleet last year. Based on the project of the British frigate Vosper Mk5, 4 units of which were delivered in the early 70s under the Shah. Displacement - 1420 tons. Length - 94,5 m, width - 11,1 m, draft - 3,25 m. Power plant - 2 gas turbines (20000 hp), 4 diesel generators (4х550 kV). Speed - 28 knots Crew - 120-140 people Armament: 4x1 launchers C-802 or 4 HY-2 (a copy of the Chinese anti-ship missile system, which in turn is a copy of the French Exocet), 1x4 launchers for the SM-1 air defense system (copy of the American RIM-66 Standard ), 1 76-mm AU Fajr-27 (copy of the Italian OTO Melara), 1x1 40-mm AU Fath-40 (copy of the Swedish Bofors L70), 2x1 20-mm AU Oerlikon GAM-B01, 2x3 324-mm TA. helicopter Bell 214ASW.

Our "Dagestan and MRK pr.21631 can easily" kill "this ship right in the port.
"Rocket Corvette" Hamzeh is a former Shah's yacht, built in 1936. The only foreign warship (officially listed as part of the Navy) that passed the Volga-Don Canal. Displacement - 580 tons. Length - 54 m, width - 7,65 m, draft - 3,25 mm. EU - two Stork diesels, 2600 hp Speed - 15 knots. Armament: 4x1 C-802 anti-ship missile launchers, 1x1 20-mm Oerlikon GAM-B01 gun, 2 large-caliber machine guns.

        2 RCA Paykan and Joshan entered service in 2003 year. A copy of the French La Combattante II. Displacement - 275 t. Length - 47 m, width - 7,1 m, draft - 2 m. EI - 4-shaft, 4 diesel, 14400 hp Speed - 36 knots Crew - 31 people. Armament: 2x1 or 4x1 PU PKR C-802, 1 76-mm AU Fajr-27, 1 40-mm AU.

However, Iran has a "joker", the already mentioned diesel-electric submarine Fateh, which entered service last year. Displacement - about 600 tons. Diving depth - 200 m, autonomy - 5 weeks.

In addition, Iran can easily transfer its mini-submarine Ghadir to the Caspian, as well as numerous light boats with a displacement of up to 100 tons.

Surprisingly, of all the post-Soviet states, Turkmenistan has the strongest Navy in the Caspian:
2 RCA pr. 12418 "Molniya", entered into the Navy in 2011. Each is armed with 16 Kh-35 Uranium anti-ship missiles.

8 High-Speed Patrol Boats of the Turkish NTPB Project. Boats of this type are assembled from sections at the plant in Ufra. Displacement 400 t., Length 55,75 meters. Armament: 40-mm twin turret automatic artillery installation Oto Melara Twin Compact. For the last two boats of the project, MBDA Italy (Italian branch of the European MBDA association) ordered Otomat Mk 2 SCRK (probably Block IV modifications), Marte Mk 2 / N light SCRC, and SIMBAD-RC light air defense missile systems (using Mistral 2 portable air defense missile systems) .

10 small 15-meter boats of the AMV type ("Bars-12") - Turkish construction
1 American-built Point Jackson class patrol boat
2 patrol boats pr. 1400 "Grif-M" of Ukrainian construction
1 PKA "Kalkan-M" of Ukrainian construction
          2 PKA pr. 12200 "Sobol"
27-meter DKA type LCM-1 Turkish built.

This year, the Dearsan Shipyard (Dearsan Gemi Insaat Sanayili) Turkish shipbuilding company ordered 6 small 33-meter rocket boats of the new project. The boats ordered for the Turkmen Navy have a hull length of 33,05 m, a width of 7,1 m and a draft of 1,4 m. Main power plant includes two MTU M93L diesel engines with two water-cannons, full speed reaches 43 knots, and 350 cruising range at 35 knots. The armament of the boats includes two launchers of the MBDA Marte Mk 2 / N light anti-ship missile system and one Aselsan STOP tank-operated 25-mm remote-controlled artillery gun with an electro-optical fire control system Aselsan ASELFLIR.

Well, the weakest Navy in the region is the Navy of Kazakhstan.
3 missile and artillery boats of project 250 Bars-MO. On the lead ship "Kazakhstan", the armament consists of a tank 25-mm twin artillery mount 2M-3M, a 23-mm twin anti-aircraft artillery mount ZU-23, as well as a 12-barreled 122-mm launcher MLRS.

The second ship of the series for the Kazakh Navy was "Oral" (tail number "251", launched on April 30, 2013 and commissioned on December 3, 2013), and the third - "Saryarka" (named after the steppe region of Central Kazakhstan, Russian scientific name - Kazakh melkosopochnik). On "Oral" and "Saryarka" the composition of weapons was changed - a tank 30-mm six-barreled artillery mount AK-306 was installed, as well as two complexes developed by the Ukrainian State Enterprise "State Kiev Design Bureau" Luch "- a turret launcher" Arbalet-K "with four Igla MANPADS missiles and a Barrier-VK missile system with four RK-2V laser-guided anti-tank guided missiles, as well as the Ukrainian Kaskad-250 weapons control system.

In May 2012, the Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan, National Company Kazakhstan Engineering JSC and the European companies MBDA and INDRA Sistemas signed an agreement on the acquisition of a coastal defense system for the Kazakh Navy based on the Exocet MM40 Block 3 anti-ship missile family.
2 raid minesweeper of the 10750E project was ordered in Russia. First laid on July 31 2014 of the year. Delivery is planned for this year.

It is also planned to purchase 3-6 MRK pr.21632 "Tornado". The Kazakhs were offered two options with the Onyx missile system and the Uran-E missile system. Time will tell which they will choose.

Submarines of Russia in the Caspian Sea, most likely, are not needed ... But something like Tritonov would be useful ..

The problem is not in the presence or absence of submarines in the Caspian. And in the complete absence of anti-submarine ships in the CFL. so RKO pr.1166.1 even devoid of torpedo tubes, I'm not talking about PLUR and RBU.
And the Iranian submarine Fateh has a displacement of 593 tons and can systematically submerge to a depth of 200 m, although in some cases it has reached a depth of 250 meters. When moving with a snorkel, this submarine at a nominal speed of 8 knots (14,8 km / h) can reach a cruising range of 6700 km and is capable of staying at sea for 35 days. The Fateh submarine carries four 533mm torpedoes as well as eight naval mines. Two more torpedoes are in reserve.
Thus, the Iranian submarine operating in the central part of the Caspian Sea (average 211 depth meters) is able to lock our ships in the bases.
As for our submarines, I think that 1-2 mini-submarines of pr. 865 "Piranha" would not wave to us as part of the CFL. with a displacement of 370 tons, a submersion depth of up to 200 m and an underwater speed of 12 knots, it has a cruising range of 2000 miles. The submarine is equipped with two 533 mm and four 400 mm torpedo tubes. Can also carry four mines. Its crew consists of four people. Additionally, the boat transports six special forces soldiers. But the MPL of the P-750 project with a displacement of 960 tons and a maximum 17-node speed is armed with 4-8 cruise missiles of the "Caliber-PL" complex to destroy sea and coastal targets, four 533-mm and eight 400-mm torpedoes, 12-24 mines and MANPADS "Igla". Its cruising range is 3000 miles, and its diving depth is up to 300 meters. Such submarines will be able to control not only the surface of the Caspian Sea and its depths, but also the surrounding shores.
