The press service of Rospotrebnadzor reported that since August 1 a ban has been imposed on the import into the territory of the Russian Federation of fish canned products of Latvian production.

Russia imposed a ban on the import of Latvian canned fish

“The Federal Service for the Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Welfare informs that when exercising state supervision over the circulation of food products during repeated studies of canned fish products produced at Latvian enterprises: JSC Ventspils Fish Cannery, GAMMA-A LLC, “Sabiedrba IMS” LLC, “UNDA” LLC, “Suldusgalaskombinats” LLC revealed violations of the requirements of the legislation in the field of consumer rights protection (inconsistency of the requirements for labeling, inconsistency by mass fraction of the main product, inconsistency in the mass fraction of the constituent parts of the main product, inconsistency in terms of energy value and organoleptic indicators). Lots of food products that do not meet the established requirements have been withdrawn from sale, ”the newspaper’s press service reports. "Sight".

It is noted that since 1 August 2015, the import of the specified Latvian producers (canned food codes 1603, 1604) to the territory of the Russian Federation is suspended.

“Studies of canned fish products from other manufacturers continue. The situation remains under the control of the Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Welfare, ”the press service stressed.

It should be recalled that in March 2015, the Rosselkhoznadzor reported that a carcinogenic substance, benzopyrene, was found in Latvian canned fish that were located in warehouses in Rzhev.

29 in May of the Russian Federation imposed a ban on the import of Latvian and Estonian fish products.

Let them now try to feed Europe with this carcinogenic rubbish. For some reason, we do not particularly know that sprats are a dangerous poison. More dangerous than tobacco and alcohol. But if you get pleasure from the latter (in reasonable doses), then from sprats - flatulence and other childhood surprises. feel

When I was young, I heard that a can of sprat, in terms of harmfulness, is equivalent to 100 smoked cigarettes. So now the Latvians will "get stoned"! laughing

Incidentally, the reasons for the prohibition of deliveries from SEPARATE enterprises mean that there is no embargo. Similarly. For five years I noticed that in the Baltic canned fish (not just sprat) there is too much liquid and too few directly fish. But the buyer pays for the fish, not the oil with fish broth.

As for benzapyrene and all kinds of phenols, this is bad manners. In any smoked products it is. And this is an inevitable evil, which, incidentally, allows smoked meats to be stored. The whole question is in the dose.

Do you watch or listen to the news? Here are the last ones: The import of canned fish from Latvia and Estonia is prohibited in Russia. This was reported by the press secretary of the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance of the Russian Federation (Rosselkhoznadzor) Julia Trofimova, reports TASS.

“The Rosselkhoznadzor notified the veterinary services of Latvia and Estonia about the concern regarding the nature of the identified system violations, and informed them that fish supplies from Latvia and Estonia to Russia will be suspended in the near future,” she said.

The head of the department, Sergey Dankvert, told Interfax that the ban would come into force on June 3-4, when the final report on the results of the audit of the Baltic enterprises will be ready. According to him, inspectors who traveled to Estonia and Latvia were "deeply concerned about what they saw."

Thank you for the comments and additions. I, like you, do not divide the Baltic States into three different states. I do not consider them states at all. I consider them to be the territory of Russia by the malicious intent or thoughtlessness of our state figures temporarily lost for our country. And this is a tragedy. I have never seen in the shops of Samara that anyone would buy canned fish. And among a sufficient circle of people whom I know there are no such people either. For the most part, it is customary to eat fish in fresh and salted-smoked form.
I believe that the import of goods such as canned goods is a typical detriment to Russia's interests. And only for thoughts of concluding such transactions you need to knock on a silly head.

who buys these canned food at all? Who needs them?

Why do you need canned foods?

In the process of storing food raw materials or finished products, their damage is possible, associated with the vital activity of microorganisms. As a result, new, more simple in composition substances appear that have an unpleasant taste and smell, some of them are poisonous. So, the amino acid tryptophan during decomposition forms indole and skatol, which are poisons. Some microorganisms do not destroy substances, but produce toxins, the presence of which makes food products dangerous to humans.

The task of preserving products is to stop the activity of microorganisms, as well as inactivate the enzyme system and prevent undesirable changes in the products.

It is necessary to preserve exclusively fresh raw materials. There are many canning methods. The choice of one or another of them depends on the type and properties of the raw materials, as well as the purpose of the finished product, however, in all cases it is necessary not only to preserve the raw materials or finished products, but also to obtain a product of high nutritional value.

The production of canned fish is one of the main areas of food use of fish and non-fish seafood in connection with the relatively high profitability of the finished product, the long shelf life, as well as the ability to improve the taste of raw materials.

And it’s frankly a pity for the ordinary people of the Baltic states. I live in a region bordering the Baltic states and communicate with them quite often. Ordinary citizens there are by no means as Russophobic as their governments. And I don’t need to tell you fairy tales about how every nation has the government it deserves. The Russians, who were mocked by Yeltsin’s gang throughout the nineties, should know the absurdity of such stories better than anyone else. So I’ll repeat once again, although I support counter-sanctions, it’s not at all tempting to jump for joy that life will become worse for ordinary workers somewhere.

    "[
this same benzopyrene - it is always present where there is a process of natural smoking with smoke. The only question is the MPC (maximum permissible concentration).
"

Absolutely right. Benz(a)pyrene is a breakdown product of solid and liquid fuels. It is considered to be a carcinogen.

It is high time!!! Our fish factories “lie on their sides,” and we continue to feed the insolent Russophobes. Let's see how Europe reacts to sprats?

I served in the GSVG in the 80s, we were given “red fish” for rations, canned sprat in tomato. Far Eastern production. We didn't really eat it. But the Germans tore off these canned goods with our hands. My German friends and I traded for other products: salami, canned sausages and other delicacies at that time. But the Germans didn’t take sprats at all; they considered them poison. But the Germans are not stupid. So let the Latvians eat their own benzopyrene.

Saury smoked in oil (oblong jar), an excellent alternative.

Any import from the Baltics must be banned until they become ardent Russophiles!
We don't need any of their products! Because We do everything much better ourselves!
And buying their products out of pity is simply stupid. Let them use the goods they produce themselves or fuse them into a geyropa.
I haven’t bought anything Baltic for at least 15 years and I feel great, which is what I wish for everyone!

There is always a hesitation on what to “call”: the comrades are over, now this address must be earned, gentlemen - what kind of gentlemen are they? Probably the best choice is citizens.
