Gun Grand Power Q100 with a rotating barrel

What Russia knows about Slovak weapons? Frankly, for most Russians, Slovakia is not associated with a state known for producing its own small arms. However, this European state has its own production facilities that are able to interest people who are somehow related to weapons operation. This is primarily about the company Grand Power, which managed to conquer a certain segment of the small arms market. One of the relatively famous brainchildren of Grand Power is a self-loading pistol with a polymer frame, the mass production of which began at the beginning of the century. Not only civilian shooters became interested in these weapons, but also representatives of law enforcement agencies, as well as military personnel. The main advantage of the products of Slovak manufacturers in the arms market is their relatively low price with quite impressive quality, the website reports http://www.all4shooters.com.

Of particular interest in the Grand Power pistols is, perhaps, their rotating barrel. Engineers who decided to use a rotating barrel after the calculations, reported that this version of the barrel reduces the impact when fired, and also minimizes the muzzle toss. This makes it possible to use the weapon effectively enough even for those who hold the gun in their hands for the first time (exaggerated, of course). In addition, inexperienced shooters have the opportunity to conduct aimed shooting with a sufficiently high accuracy in the case of the use of powerful ammunition of relatively large caliber.

There are not many pistols with rotating trunks on the modern market, and therefore the Grand Power representatives decided to carry out the operation of this niche in full. To the principles and technological features that were used by engineers in the first versions of pistols, a relatively low “planted” barrel was added, which makes it very effective to control the pistol when firing fast fire. In this regard, the Grand Power pistols have gained additional accuracy, and therefore their popularity has increased and shooters-athletes.

If we talk about the design of Grand Power pistols, it was conceived as the embodiment of the defensive principle of this weapon. Although over time, the fact of exclusively defensive function of pistols with a rotating barrel became not quite obvious, as representatives of the police and the army became interested in weapons.

A new self-loading pistol from Slovak manufacturers was presented at the international arms exhibition in Nuremberg, Germany. They became Q100, which, instead of the standard external trigger, is equipped with an impact type system. This single / double action pistol is supplied to the market, a patent for which Grand Power was obtained in due time.

Gun Grand Power Q100 with a rotating barrel

The system is interesting in that it provides the possibility of a “backup strike” in case the cartridge suddenly “did not wish” to ignite when the trigger is pressed for the first time. Although, as the manufacturers themselves say, usually the cartridges react to the mechanism from the first attempt.

The new Q100 self-loading pistol from Grand Power is equipped with a polyamide frame made of GF30 material. This is a polyamide reinforced with fiberglass and graphite, which makes it resistant not only to abrasion, but also to various kinds of deformations even under extreme temperature conditions. The pistol grip is made in the style of Mk12. It has several interchangeable panels (usually three sets per model). The frame comes with an insert of CrMo, including a coating of Quench Polish Quench (QPQ) - a special heat treatment with oxidation, intermediate polishing and additional oxidation in a salt melt.

Grand Power Q100 pistols are equipped with a standard Picatinny rail that allows you to use a variety of tactical accessories with your weapon. The weapon has symmetrical controls: a button to eject the magazine, a slide latch and a manual safety device. The gun, thanks to the implementation of symmetrical functional elements, without additional "settings" can be used by both right-handed and left-handed arrows.

The Q-100 has the so-called combat recharging capability: when recharging is performed with an open slide delay, and if the shooter inserts a new cartridge into the magazine, it is inserted with force, the bolt cover closes, sending a new cartridge into the chamber, and the drummer re-arches himself . That is, the shooter will not need to pay attention and spend time on the slide gate of the weapon.

Grand Power Q100 features:

barrel length 108 mm (the hardness of the metal of the barrel is up to 48 HRC inside and to 54 HRC outside);
Grand Power Q100 shop double row on 15 ammunition caliber 9x19mm Parabellum;
there is a three-point sighting device.

At the exhibition in Nuremberg, the gun interested visitors mainly from European countries.

Beautiful gun. And all ... no serious technical characteristics, nothing. The principle of operation is similar to GSh18, but again, the barrel rotation (in design) can be up to 90 degrees. And in GSh it is only 30 degrees (it can be lying, but it’s very small). Nothing, not even advertising ...

and in the General Staff, he is only 30 (maybe I’m lying, but certainly very little).

You’re lying a little))), the GSh has 18 degrees. Because of this, the number of combat stops was increased. GP he is the one who moves in a curly groove, the same principle with the Steyr M12 only two stops. Q100 which is a striker has an older brother - K100 with trigger trigger.

I didn’t see a particularly low-set barrel. At first glance, it has a sufficiently large distance from the axis of the barrel channel to the handle. This means that the overturning moment, when fired, will be significant. Sight restoration takes time. Here the submarine has a low-set barrel. Glock is low, GSh is 18 too.

Glock has a higher trunk, compare pictures, but only with glasses.

Excuse me, where are the woods coming from? The gun is only presented at the exhibition, in Russia it is not certified as a sports weapon, and on the GP website it is still not on sale.
Everything that was written should belong to the K100, it all depends on the party, he just does not like varnished cartridges and his ejector quickly dies. Tula PSO 9x19.000-06, which are exported, eats without problems.

This is what our pistols, and indeed our weapons in general, lack - a kind of "licking", completeness or something. The same general staff is good or not - I don't know, someone praises, someone scolds, it doesn't matter, not about that. You take it into his hands and it is unpleasant. Sits well, but all of it is some kind of candlestick, with some kind of burrs, with traces of a file, painted as if from a spray can. The military, militiamen will do it anyway, but civilians are "not ordered." Sadness with cookies. And this "foreigner" is good! Straight licked all!

Because the main consumers of such pistols in the west are the civilian population, and by and large they don’t give a damn how much he will shoot without cleaning and how he will behave after a truck hits. The main thing is appearance, weight and convenience. Domestic pistols in the civilian market are poorly represented, therefore, external decoration is not needed.

Of particular interest in the Grand Power pistols is perhaps their rotating barrel. Engineers who decided to use a rotating barrel after the calculations reported that this version of the barrel reduces recoil when fired, and also minimizes the muzzle throw.

So shamelessly lying, as on the site http://www.all4shooters.com they definitely do not know how laughing No matter the article, a bunch of advertising fakes and technical gibberish. In fact, the rotary barrel does not reduce the recoil force and the muzzle jump. And the rotation of the barrel during the return of the weapon, on the contrary, adds one more additional moment of force to the pistol, and after the shot the pistol will also take slightly away. The smaller the weight of the rotating barrel relative to other parts of the gun, the less this moment of force will be felt, but it is completely impossible to exclude it.

To those principles and technological features that were used by engineers in the first versions of the pistols, a relatively low "planted" barrel was added, which makes it possible to control the gun very effectively during fast fire. In this regard, Grand Power pistols have gained additional accuracy, and therefore their popularity has also increased for shooting athletes.

And what did they intend (http://www.all4shooters.com) that the barrel was "low set", with a tape measure? laughing Even if the arrangement of the pistol assemblies in the presented photographs shows that the barrel is not set low at all relative to the handle. Low-set barrels for GSH-18, Swift, Steyr M-9, GK P-7, Kriss Vector and some other pistols.

... I didn’t read the article further, but I’m sure that there is also a pseudo-smart abracadabra adapted for blondes reading some cosmopolitan in each paragraph laughing

I handed the author a minus.
I understand that he fell victim to translations, first from Slovak to English, then from English to sovereign (which in itself, perhaps, is impossible). But you have to include technical flair?
What single mode is possible with the shock type trigger gun without any external platoon levers? If any of the inhabitants of the site gives an example of the design, I will gladly apologize to the author.
No less ridiculous is the description of some kind of combat reload. For those who are trying to object, re-read this paragraph of the author before .. Based on the article at the end of the cartridges in the magazine (the shutter delay has worked and, of course, the firing pin has already lifted) you can forcefully insert the cartridge into the magazine (okay into the chamber through the ejection window), after which the gun breaks off the bolt delay by itself, sending out a cartridge (from where?), then bounces back (cocking the drummer again). He laughed utterly.
Advertised gun - none (if only because of the lack of automatic fuses that are present on any modern pistol gun).
Praising the sniper qualities of a pistol with a barrel length equivalent to a PM (and the Makarov's barrel not only does not swing upward when fired, but does not even spin), to put it mildly ...
    Respectfully to all ...

I read it to the end, and in fact the perfect rubbish:
this pistol with a single / double action trigger is left on the market, the patent for which at one time was received by Grand Power.
The system is interesting in that it provides the possibility of a “duplicate strike” in case the cartridge suddenly “did not want to” ignite the first time the trigger is pulled.

If someone did not understand, but I did not understand the first time, then this is a description of a banal self-re-entry.

Then I did not understand anything even after three attempts)))
If we abstract, then, probably, we are not talking about "inserting a new cartridge into the magazine", but about "inserting a new magazine into the pistol".

we are talking about the banal automatic removal of the shortcut after changing an empty magazine to a magazine with cartridges, the chip is far from new, it was still in the PM arr. 1949 at which, after conducting experimental military operation, it was abolished - as it was considered that this thing is not so much useful as dangerously provoking accidents.

Beautiful gun! Asks for a hand good
Automation works according to the pattern of using recoil with a short barrel stroke. Locking is carried out by turning the barrel. The barrel rotation during the withdrawal of the shutter-casing back occurs when a wide leading profile located in the breech of the barrel interacts with a steel pin located in the frame perpendicular to the axis of the barrel. To unlock the barrel rotates around its axis by 42 °.

This type of locking was first used on the Austrian pistol Steier, which was in service with the Austrian army at the beginning of the 20th century. Yaroslav Kuratsina simply copied this principle from Steier when developing the Grand Power 100. Gas-traumatic The version of this gun has long been sold here in Russia and our practice shooters have also been using it in competitions and training for several years.
