Armored Car ShBSA-1811 "Ansir"
According to reports, the development of a new armored car started in 2011 year. The project was initiated by the NGO “Special equipment and communications” of the Ministry of the Interior. Some time after the publication of the technical specifications, the design work was selected. As the developer organization, the customer chose the Wheeled Machines department (SM-10) of MSTU. Bauman. In accordance with the technical assignment, it was necessary to create a light armored vehicle designed for patrolling, escorting columns, carrying out reconnaissance measures and providing support during special operations.
The customer wanted a two-axle vehicle with a curb weight of no more than 4 tons and a payload of at least 800 kg. The crew of a promising machine was to consist of three people. In connection with the intended use of the new machine had to have a reservation corresponding to 5 class GOST Р50963-96. It was necessary to ensure the same protection of the crew and the main units of the machine during the shelling from all directions. It was also required to equip the interior of the car, including glass, with anti-ricochet curtains to prevent the ricochet of bullets piercing the armor.
Project work on the topic "Ansir" continued for several years. Their result was the emergence of so-called. assault armored special small class car ShBSA-1811. The prototype of this car was built tentatively at the start of the 2014 of the year. The first demonstration of a prototype took place at the end of May last year at the Innovation Day of the Ministry of Defense, held at the test site in Bronnitsy (Moscow region). It is noteworthy that the armored vehicle "Ansyr" was developed by order of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, but its first show took place during an event organized by the Ministry of Defense.
The first prototype of the SBSA-1811 machine, shown last spring, had an “army” green color, and on its roof was a combat module or machine gun turret, covered with a fabric cover. In the future, various exhibitions featured armored cars of different colors and configurations. So, at last year's exhibition "Interpolitech-2014" for the first time was shown "Ansyr" in a light gray color with blue stripes and the words "Police". At the recent forum "Army-2015" there were two samples at once: "army" and "policeman". At the same time, the green car lost the turret on the roof, while the gray one, on the contrary, received such an aggregate.
Information on the ShBSA-1811 armored car, published to date, suggests that the authors of the project were able to successfully fulfill all the requirements of the technical specifications. Thus, upon completion of all the necessary tests, this machine can be put into service by some structures within the Ministry of Internal Affairs. However, official information on this is not yet available.
The ShBSA-1811 armored car belongs to the class of light armored vehicles intended for the transportation of small crew and small cargo. In terms of its overall appearance, characteristics and intended use, the new Russian vehicle is similar to some foreign models, such as the French armored vehicle Panhard VBL, etc. Thus, it can be assumed that the project "Ansir" was created in connection with the plans of the customer to fill a niche that is not yet occupied with domestic armored vehicles.
The armored vehicle "Ansyr" is a fighting vehicle with a wheel formula 4х4 and a relatively compact body. Such design features have reduced the size and combat weight of the machine without losing other characteristics. The length of the armored car reaches 4 m, the width is 2,1 m, the height of the roof is 1,85 m. The car is built according to the bonnet layout and its body is divided into two main compartments. In the front, under the armored hood, is the engine and associated units, in the rear - the crew.
The new armored vehicle has a characteristic angular shape of the armor hull, welded from flat sheets of metal, mated at different angles. On the outer surface of the body are fixed wings of the wheels, protruding beyond its dimensions. Between the wings there is a step, which facilitates the landing in the car.
ShBSA-1811 car hood is assembled from several sheets located at different angles to the vertical. At the same time, the bonnet lid is noticeably raised above the hull level. The engine compartment has several grilles that facilitate ventilation and provide air access to the radiator. Two large grilles are placed in the hood lid and front hull plate. Another four smaller grids are behind the engine. Two of them are located in the roof of the compartment, two more - in the side surface. From under the hood removed the air intake pipe passing near the windshield. Its cut is at the level of the roof.
Inhabited housing compartment has a sloping frontal sheet with two large glasses. Despite the relatively large thickness, the glass does not protrude above the level of the body. The sides of the habitable compartment consist of two inclined sheets. The bottom sheet is installed with the collapse outward, and the top - with a slope inward. In the back of the case on the upper parts of the sides there are small niches in which there are side windows. Due to these niches, relatively large shelves are formed on the wings of the rear wheels. The aft sheet of the hull is made of a flat metal sheet without bends.
The crew of the armored vehicle "Ansir" has several doors and hatches that provide access to the inside of the cabin. Next to the jobs of the driver and the commander on the sides there are doors that open forward. Another door is located in the stern of the hull. On the roof there are three hatches. Two are located above the driver and commander, the third is above the shooter's place. On the latter can be installed weapons or special equipment.
The crew of the car can monitor the environment with several glasses, providing an overview of several broad sectors from all sides. To monitor the road there are two large windshields. Smaller, trapezoidal panes are installed in the doors. Three more windows are available on the sides of the hull and in the aft door. All the windows of the car, with the exception of the frontal ones, are equipped with embrasures for firing from personal weapons the crew. The loopholes are closed with valves controlled from the inside.
According to the developer, the ShBSA-1811 armored vehicle body provides 5 class protection in accordance with GOST Р50963-96 during firing from all directions. Thus, the crew and units of the machine are protected from automatic fire when using cartridges with a bullet equipped with a heat-strengthened core. To increase the level of protection of the crew, almost the entire inner surface of the habitable volume is covered with special anti-ricochet curtains. Blinds are permanently installed on the doors and sides of the case. To protect the side and feed glass, there are folding curtains. When closing windows, the curtains do not close the embrasures.
Under the hood of the armored vehicle "Ansir" is 4-cylinder diesel engine with horsepower 180. 1960 cube see. The type of power plant was not specified. The machine is equipped with a mechanical transmission with a permanent drive of all four driving wheels. Provides for the forced locking of axle and cross-axle differentials. Wheelbase - 2,5 m, clearance - 350 mm. There is a possibility of movement on water with the help of a special propeller. After launching the engine power is transmitted to the jet, installed in the rear of the hull, under the aft door. Behind the propeller is a double steering wheel that allows you to maneuver.
Due to the 180-strong engine, the 4 T weighing machine has a power density at the level of the 45 HP. per ton. This allows her to reach speeds of up to 110 km / h (according to other data, up to 125-130 km / h) while driving on the highway. The water cannon provides speed on the water of the order of 5 km / h. Cruising by land - 800 km.
The developer focuses on the wheels of a special design. To maintain mobility in case of damage to the undercarriage, the armored car is equipped with wheels with a so-called. safety inserts. This part is a metal rim that fits inside the tire. In case of damage to the tire and the impossibility of maintaining the required pressure in it, the armored car rests on the safety insert. This design of the wheels, allegedly, allows the crew to quickly take the car out of the shelling zone, not paying attention to damage and not having serious problems with survivability. Announced the possibility of movement on the punched wheels at speeds up to 60 km / h. At an average speed of about 40 km / h, an armored car can travel on a damaged wheel to 70 km.
The crew of the armored car SBSA-1811 "Ansir" consists of three people. Two seats are located in front of the habitable volume, the third - behind them. Ahead are the commander and driver, behind - the shooter or the operator of special equipment. Due to the small size of the machine, the shooter has to fall into its place through the aft door. The shooter has access to the sunroof and is responsible for using the weapon mounted on it.
Armored car "Ansir" can be equipped with various types of small arms. Last year in Bronnitsy a sample of the car was shown, on the roof of which there was a turret, closed with a tarpaulin. This year at the forum "Army-2015" showed an armored car with the equipment of a similar design. This time, the car received a slewing turret with an armored seat and mechanisms for mounting a machine gun, which was not closed with a cloth. According to the technical specification, the prospective armored car was supposed to carry a PKN machine gun of the 7,62 caliber mm or Kord of the 12,7 mm caliber or the AGS-30 automatic grenade launcher. It is possible that in the future the ShBSA-1811 armored car may receive any combat module.
The design of the new combat vehicle allows you to install various special equipment. For example, the police version of an armored car shown in the last year, with a gray coloration, was equipped with a flashing light mounted above the rear hatch. There was no weapon or turret. The Army-2015 also showed an armored car in a gray color, but with a turret and without a special signal on the roof.
Based on the available data, we can talk about the existence of at least two prototypes of the new armored car "Ansir". They can be recognized by different colors. The composition of the most noticeable additional equipment, apparently, is constantly changing and cannot serve as a reliable way of identifying a particular machine.
According to some reports, the ShBSA-1811 armored vehicles took to tests last year. There is no reliable information about this. Perspectives of the machine, too, is open to question. Indeed, such equipment may be of some interest to various structures of the Ministry of the Interior, the FSB and other organizations. Nevertheless, the reduction of crew and payload associated with a decrease in the size and weight of the machine, may be the reason for some questions about the real future of such technology.
More than a year has passed since the first demonstration of the Ansir car. Any reliable information about the future of this technology at the moment did not appear. Probably, while the armored vehicle is undergoing tests, because of what its main customer, represented by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, is not yet ready to make its final decision. It remains to wait for the appearance of new information about the project and the announcement of the decisions of potential customers in the face of law enforcement agencies.
