Baltic recipes. How to turn the republic from the windows of the Union of Soviet in the barnyard of the European Union?
The new “democratic achievement” of Lithuania is the need to accept Libyan, Syrian, Palestinian, Somali, Eritrean and other refugees, who in fragile little boats are sent across the Mediterranean to Europe in search of a better life. World geography and the desire to become Europeans brings African and Asian refugees mainly to Italy and Greece (just the sea is closer to these EU states). But the authorities of Italy and Greece, to put it in a not quite literary language, declare that they are not going to be “red-headed” in the EU. The rhetoric of Rome and Athens is simple: if we already have an alliance, be so kind as to distribute all this “tribe” arriving and arriving in our countries across all “brotherly states” - from the Iberian Peninsula to the Baltic States.
After the meeting, which was held in a raised voice in the EU, they decided to take the voice of Italy and Greece by setting, as is known, quotas for each of the European Union member countries. However, not all European “brothers and sisters” expressed a desire to accept the number of refugees that Brussels “painted” in the document. And if Britain or Germany can afford to declare at the level of the authorities, where they saw the quotas of Brussels, then Euro-dwarfs (like the same Lithuania) are supposed to trump up, also snapping their heels.
And this is probably the first case in the new stories The Baltic states, when its authorities are faced with a frank anti-Baltic decision of the EU - moreover, it is very difficult to hide its “anti-Baltic” nature. If before that everything could be attributed to “protection from the neighbor-aggressor” (even the participation of the Lithuanian contingent in the operation in Kosovo and Sierra Leone), now the adoption of 700 Africans and Arabs in Lithuania is somehow quite difficult to link with national security - security from the “potential aggression of Russia” against a small but proud state ... Something in style: “When our soldiers were sent to defend Lithuania’s independence in Africa, we were sure that the farther away from the country's borders, the safer for us are its citizens; but when residents of Libya began to be moved into our houses, we suddenly doubted whether there was a democracy? ”Don't doubt this, surely ...
Lithuanian President Grybauskaite found herself in an obvious trap - here and in the West you need to podmahivat, and your electorate to at least somehow calm. At Grybauskaite “to combine” it turns out like this: demolishing Soviet sculptures from a bridge to put down the vigilance of ordinary Lithuanians, attempting to unleash the myth of “Soviet occupation” again, and at the same time declares that Lithuania will accept refugees from Libya, Eritrea and Syria, not only in the number of 700 people appointed by Brussels, but in the number of 250.
And who, actually, in the European Union is this Grybauskaite going to ask? And Grybauskaite herself understands this perfectly well. For he remembers that not so long ago every member of the European Parliament in the mailbox turned out to be a pre-interesting little book “Red Dahl”, telling how a Komsomol woman athlete during the “occupation” worked with the KGB. After that, by the way, in Lithuania a law was passed on classifying the names of those people who dealt with the Soviet special services. Dahl after the news of the distribution of books about the “secrets” of her biography among euro-deputies announced that this, they say, is the machinations of Russia, but today she is beginning to think: is it Russia? .. Indeed, in Russia it is already well known who Gribauskaite is and how her policy breathes the air, but in the West, with a book, they familiarized themselves with great interest, and it is for the West that it is now advantageous to present the materials from Dali’s biography to Dale herself if she suddenly decides to rest. - Balk at least about the same Eritrean and Syrian refugees.
All this is happening against the background of the 75 anniversary of the entry of the Baltic republics into the USSR. 21 July 1940 Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania declared themselves Soviet republics. Today, for the Baltics, this sounds like a reminder of what the Soviet “occupation” really was. And besides, there is a great opportunity to compare the state of affairs in the same Soviet Lithuania with the state of affairs in today's Lithuania. The state of affairs of the “show-window” of the Soviet Union with the state of affairs of the backyard of the European Union ... Dear citizens of the countries of the independent Baltic, well, how much longer will you allow yourself to be made of complete idiots? ..
