Turkish armored personnel carrier PARS 4x4

The PARS 4x4 wheeled armored personnel carrier, the newest member of the PARS family, designed and manufactured by FNSS Defense Systems, was shown at the international defense exhibition IDEF, held in Istanbul in May 2015.

The machine, designed to meet the operational needs of Turkey’s ground forces on the battlefield, was designed by the Ankara research and development center of FNSS.

PARS 4x4 was developed in four versions: a command post, an armored tactical vehicle with a combat module, a reconnaissance variant and an anti-armored variant. Other vehicles of the PARS family include the PARS 6x6 and PARS 8x8 armored vehicles.

Four variants of the PARS armored personnel carrier: command post, an armored tactical vehicle with a combat module, a reconnaissance variant and an option to combat armored vehicles

Design and characteristics of the wheeled armored personnel carrier PARS 4x4

The armored personnel carrier PARS 4x4 has an open architecture and can swim. The machine can be transported by military transport aviatione.g. C130H, A400, C17, C-5 Galaxy and CH-47 Chinook.

Machine dimensions: length 5 meters, width 2,5 meters and height 1,9 meters. It accommodates five crew members, located on energy absorbing seats. Roof-mounted cameras provide a high level of day and night situational awareness for the driver and commander, while windows provide an increased field of view.

The hydraulic winch is fixed in the front, it allows self-pulling if necessary. For landing the landing of the crew from each side there are two doors. The commander's panel and the emergency signal panel, as well as the electrical system compatible with the standards MIL STD 1275 and MIL STD 461, are installed in the machine.

The machine is able to overcome the deep with the rapid flow of water, using two water cannons in the stern of the machine.

Arms mounted on a wheeled armored personnel carrier

The PARS version of the 4x4 PARS is armed with a remote-controlled weapon module with a 12,7-mm machine gun, while the armored version can be equipped with 7,62-mm and 12,7-mm machine guns or 40-mm grenade launchers. A remote-controlled anti-tank guided missile complex is installed on the anti-tank variant.

Protection armored vehicle PARS 4x4

The ballistic materials used in the car provide protection from mines and improvised explosive devices. Bulletproof windows ensure that those sitting inside the car are protected from ballistic threats and physical attacks.

Engine and transmission

The PARS 4x4 armored car is equipped with a diesel engine running on F34 diesel (JP8) and having a specific power 25 – 30 hp / t.

A fully automatic transmission is connected to the engine. Independent double-wishbone hydropneumatic suspension offers the best ride, while locking the axle differential provides increased stability on slippery surfaces and soft soils.

The machine is equipped with working hydropneumatic brakes with anti-lock braking system, as well as parking brakes with spring drive and hydraulic disconnection built into the transmission. Wheels with armor resistant inserts with a centralized wheel inflation system provide all-terrain maneuverability.

Driving characteristics of the PARS 4x4 armored personnel carrier

The tactical vehicle PARS 4x4 develops maximum speed on the 120 highway km / h and on the water 8 km / h. Power reserve is more than 700 km, the angles of the front and rear overhang are 54 ° and 42 °, respectively. The machine can overcome 70% slopes and side slopes up to 40%. The armored personnel carrier can overcome a vertical obstacle 50 cm high and a trench 90 cm wide, the turning radius is approximately 7 meters.

Large glass is a minus. After a short burst of lobovuha, the driver will not see anything. When will they make armored personnel carriers without windows and with only cameras?

Never. The cameras are not a panacea, EW is improving day by day, and you shouldn’t rely only on electronics.

The theater, on which the Turkish armed forces are accustomed to operating, did not have players with powerful electronic warfare equipment. Iran has only recently made a name for itself. In addition, the Turks have gained extensive experience in counter-guerrilla operations (they cannot be compared with the IDF or the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, but significantly more than most European states), so this point is also taken into account.

Aha! their experience is greater and more valuable in the fight against the "terrorist" Kurdish peshmerga than that of the British and French in confronting Afghan and African thugs.

the47th SU - YOU are right so it is, the SChS The doctrine of war has changed. The current Armored vehicles live for several minutes, then the turn of RPG-7, RPG-28, RPG-29, RPG-30, RPG-32, etc., or TOU , TOU-2, and of course the ATGMs of the Russian Federation., So that the Syrian military forces are moving in civilian cars, it is useless to drive an armored car !!

The strange machine we and Amers have quite suitable cars of this type, you could learn from both polar points of view.

This is the German "Fennek", which they have produced since 2001. Have you bought a license from the gloomy ones? Although the Turkish feel is too small compared to the German original. It looks like a dumb Chinese style copy-paste.

It has not been manufactured for a long time and will be thrown out of the VSRF due to "professional unsuitability":
        1. weak armor protection,
        2. low mine protection,
        3. very poor ergonomics.

Why are you doing this? I know very well about Vodnik. Yes, our beautiful car, can swim, excellent cross-country ability, and? I'm talking about the fact that the new Turkish armored personnel carrier is an exact copy of the German one.

Where did they come from in Turkey? 100 years as Osman was "debunked" and driven onto palm trees, 40 years as they came down from them, 20 years as Germans teach them to do something with their hands, and the same buy-sell-sherbet-merbet. It was Erdogan's tail that was "burned", so that he, in order not to be "on a par" with Hussein and Gaddafi, began to buy samples for a screwdriver assembly. It seems like building a national military-industrial complex, bringing the army into a truly combat-ready state.

The Germans are doing well, a civilian car, but not a military one, just if you look at some kind of non-age transport on the BMP PUMA, and even expensive, compared to BMP-3 PUMA is resting.

Base 4 * 4, as with cross? I think nothing. Very little I believe that a serious anti-mine reservation of such a machine is possible. And in general, a mess like a mess

A magnificent car, a wonderful concept, this is what our army needs, and even by riding on an armored personnel carrier the concept of which has long been a dead end. And this is what is needed and the cross is good and the power is magnificent. If a landing party takes a cornet or MANPADS, then this is generally strong striking power

Wheel armored personnel carrier PARS 4x4

Well, what kind of armored personnel carrier is this? request This is a typical BRDM ...

And if you compare with our BRDM previous generations, then in general, almost one to one.
Only windows and doors were inserted from the sides ...

BRDM - yes, she herself is: an excellent overview, swims. Only with PMZ and protection more serious than the BRDM.
We would just like that, in the quality of the BRDM, instead of the flowing Tigers.

Well, BRDMKs were created in the 60 / 70s of the last century, when the Turks generally did not have such equipment. And not only them, but many more.

It makes sense to fence a large number of equipment, if such machines can be produced on one wheeled chassis?

In addition, if a light BRDM is needed, then we already have such an armored car:

        1. A full-fledged intelligence system is placed on the Tiger.
        2. The BRDM-3 is produced on the basis of the BTR-80A
        3. Why reconnaissance this light BA? Fenneck and Shot have an order of magnitude greater armor protection, only the first with a large bias for reconnaissance, and the second for battle.
BRDM-2 is a good car with a lot of experience in reconnaissance and combat (before the Donbass, our troops successfully used them during 888), but there will probably not be a new 4x4 generation.

According to general decisions, I would attribute it to the police or commander’s devices: convenience of landing, visibility, armor protection ...
