Chief Designer "NPK" NIIDAR "(holding" RTI ") Mikhail Skolotnev told the correspondent Interfax-AVNthat during the International Maritime Defense Show (MVMS-2015) in St. Petersburg, modern means of radar were presented.

The holding "RTI" presented radar "Marmot" and "Sunflower" on the IMMS-2015

“Here we present the“ Sunflower-E ”over-the-horizon radar station, the purpose of which is to monitor a very large area of the marine area. She has a large sector of the review - about 120 degrees in azimuth and range up to 450 km, ”he said.

In addition, at the integrated booth "RTI" you can get acquainted with the latest development - the radar "Groundhog".

“It is notable for the lack of a rotating antenna system. In the groundhog radar rotates a magnetic field. And, as a result, the life of the radar is extended. I think that our new development will cause a very wide interest and demand, ”Skolotnev noted.

RTI has also presented the Arctic Situation Alert System (SOO) currently being developed.

“The situation lighting system in the Arctic is a unique project in terms of complexity and scale. It will allow integrating the scientific and technical achievements of many enterprises of OJSC RTI in radio and space technology, security systems, microelectronics, ”said Vladimir Goncharov, Deputy Executive Director of the Integrated Security Systems Division of OJSC RTI.

According to him, the main task of SOO is the formation of a single information space of the Russian Federation in the Arctic region in the field of air, surface, electronic, space and environmental conditions, information about the state of the Arctic transport complex and other management information.

Potential users of data from SOO in the Arctic are the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Roscosmos, the Ministry of Economic Development, Roshydromet, Rosaviatsia, the Ministry of Transport and other regional and federal executive bodies.

Admiration and pride for Russian scientists is worthy of praise! And then, after the publication of the article on the comments on VO, they already try not to mark the first ... I, better than the second and others, will not “mark”, if there is nothing to “mark”!

    Brilliant!

I remember futurama: "I have developed a new type of engine. Instead of moving the spaceship, it moves the universe around it."

Engineers - this is the creative class.

Unfortunately, I put a minus to the author of the article. The topic is interesting, but completely unrevealed. But it was enough to go to the NIIDAR website.

You shouldn't think so. We have about the same common name and "predators" and "killers". Or do you consider Shark, anaconda, Barracuda, Gyurza, Cobra, cheetah and other "cute animals" as vegetarian pets? laughing

I must agree with you. Sometimes we make 1 station of different types. This is the same as with the surface wave station. One - "Sunflower" - in the Caspian Sea, "Taurus" in Kamchatka, "Volna" near Nakhodka. I wouldn't be surprised (I didn't look specifically) if the creators are different too ..

I wildly like the names of our systems:

Oh, we sometimes have such names that "Can't be sewn anywhere". For example: "Waste" or "Drain". In principle, both they (the Americans) and we have a list by which names are given. I don’t know how, by what criterion, they give to theirs, but they give to ours according to the letter on which this or that type of weapon begins. For fighters - names starting with the letter F, for ballistic missiles - with the letter C, etc.

Yes, we need a lot of peepers and different ones. Stationary and mobile. Along the perimeter of the borders in two layers, in some places and in three. And still in space, yes. Restore reconnaissance and target designation system.

If this is just a colloquial conversation, then it is clear. But as mentioned above, a lot is really needed, but different. It is nevertheless desirable to limit the nomenclature
