As part of the Farnborough 2010 International Air Show in the UK, Lockheed Martin’s director of business development, Bill McHenry, at a press conference for the media, said that the latest modifications of the F-16 fighter are the most advanced fighters in the world fourth generation.

According to him, the F-16 is a modern, very effective and affordable fighter for potential buyers. Existing orders allow the work to load the production line for the assembly of aircraft up to 2013, there is a likelihood of new orders, which will extend the production of fighters for a few more years. The company is even behind the production schedule for 86 machines, and an order was recently received for the production of 20 new advanced F-16 Advanced Block 50 / 52 fighters for the Egyptian Air Force.

Since the launch of the F-16 program, more than 30 aircraft of this type have been produced in more than 4450 years, including for the 14 air forces of the world.

Lockheed Martin continues to work on equipping fifth-generation F-16 fighters with on-board systems to ensure compatibility with the F-22 and F-35 aircraft. “This integration of advanced technologies enables the F-16 operator countries to use the“ natural bridge ”to smoothly switch to fifth-generation fighter jets,” says McHenry.

Currently, the F-16C / D Advanced Block 50 / 52 is being modified for the Air Forces of Turkey, Pakistan, Morocco and Egypt. The United Arab Emirates purchased the F-16E / F Block 60 version, which is the base for the proposed Indian Air Force F-16IN Super Viper fighter as part of the MMRCA tender.

The aircraft is equipped with the latest technology and has the capabilities that are available today. These are airborne radar with active phased array, the possibility of autonomous interception of air targets, all-weather capability and high accuracy of combat use at any time of the day. Recent advances in avionics, sensors and weaponsThe comfortable cockpit and the high level of integration of the onboard systems provide the F-16 pilots with a high degree of situational awareness.
