At the Army-2015 International Military-Technical Forum, visitors were able to see for the first time a model of a two-link tracked snow-bog-driven DT-BTR, which is intended for transporting fighters of a motorized infantry unit, as well as their fire support in the natural climatic conditions of Siberia, the Arctic and the Far East, reports "Messenger of Mordovia".

At the forum "Army-2015" was presented for the first time a two-link tracked snow-swamp DT-BTR

“The combat weight of this vehicle is about 25 T. The mass of the towed trailer is at least 7 tons. The machine is capable of transporting 12 people, including the first link of the 3 person and the 9 - in the second link. Specific power of it - 20 hp on 1 ton of weight. The maximum speed is up to 60 km / h by land and 6 km / h - by water, ”the publication notes.

Fighting machine easily overcomes the ascents or descents, the slope of which reaches 35 degrees, as well as a slope of at least 20 degrees. In addition, the DT-BTR will not stop a ditch wide up to 2.7 meters, as well as a meter-high vertical wall.

The novelty is equipped with an uninhabited fighting compartment, similar to those used on the BMP "Boomerang" and "Kurganets-25". As part of weapons - 30-mm gun, 7.62-mm machine gun and anti-tank complex "Cornet". The most advanced sights allow you to effectively fire at any time of day and in all weather conditions. In addition, there is a version of the module with a cliff 12.7-mm machine gun. The roof of the second link of the vehicle is equipped with a complex of active protection, which increases its survival in the conditions of modern combat operations.

The two-link caterpillar snow and swamp-driving DT-BTR was first introduced

.. everything is correct .. why reinvent the wheel if there is a ready chassis for 10 and 30 tons ... all the more so as it has already proven itself perfectly .. as I understand it, Ishimbay will be loaded at the most impossible .. I hope to see it on the basis of the DT-30P .. TOR, Shell and other equipment for the Arctic ..

This is just a concept mockup, not more. For the development and construction of a prototype, God forbid, he’ll leave for five or six years, and then he will not be needed (as with the BTR-90, since 1998 he’s been armed and he wasn’t waited for in the army, and then it turned out that he didn’t need)

You got already incomprehensibly "strange"! You always sculpt some slogans! I live in the Krasnodar Territory like that for you, at least in terms of roads "Like cancer to Kiev!" So sit and stick your slogans there quietly, quietly! you do not have what modern RUSSIA is! And to be a stuffed animal with the Soviet flag (it is not clear whose and for what not anyone can answer) I will repeat to you, I live in the Krasnodar Territory in Sochi, you are "incomprehensibly strange" to our level of 20 years to telepath! And then if we are waiting for you. And no one is going to wait for you. So bite your nails with excitement!

It’s impossible to drown in a swamp. The hunters on it almost climbed the entire tundra. Reliable and simple device. Holds up to four people. Now people are used to traveling in groups of wanderers. Compare the payload of DT and the Wanderer.
Off-road DT is much better. DT overcomes a wall of 1,5 m and a ditch 4 m wide.
DT also swims better than the Wanderer.
Specific ground pressure DT-0,22 kg / cmXNUMX
Tearing low-pressure pneumatics on stones as nefig do, unlike caterpillars.
On deflated pneumatics (to achieve the lowest ground pressure of 0,05 kg / cmXNUMX), the turning radius of the machine increases significantly, maneuverability deteriorates.
Although comparing machines different in design and purpose is a thankless task.

Well, for the "friends", the lighter version of Viking is enough for the Arctic and Afghanistan. It makes all the difference - the air conditioner or the heater, and well, change the fluids in the hydraulics and brakes.
Exclusively IMHO: does the presence of an ATGM on our concept seem crazy? What are the goals in the Arctic that require the use of ATGM? Shoot whales for meat, because will the timely delivery of "sweets" be disrupted anyway?

At the forum "Army-2015" was presented for the first time a two-link tracked snow-swamp DT-BTR

Yes, this is the good old "Knight" only all in armor.
It is upsetting that the developer has presented few options for this BBM.

Besides, why was everything closed with iron? The cockpit could simply be booked and good bulletproof glasses put + additional video cameras like on the Typhoon armored cars, in the polar night conditions it is somehow "not ice" with a permanently switched on NVG or thermal imager (and if it breaks, what then? marching like in a tank is also somehow chilly, especially when it's outside -50. The side doors of the cockpit were also removed in vain. "Knight" is high and climb up to climb to his workplace, too, will somehow take a long time.

Protection-protection, but we also need to think about the working conditions of the crew.
By the way, about her dear. Why do everything as a monolith, when it was possible to put combined armor like on the Typhoon armored vehicles? Or on the same armored personnel carrier "Boomerang" ... By the way, there you can also see how the cabin can be equipped.

In addition, the workplace of the BTR commander is somehow very poorly equipped.
There is no commander's observation device, only three triplexes are standing.
How can the vehicle commander be able to monitor the environment and give target designation to the gunner-operator, or direct the actions of the landing unit using such "equipment"? Disorder, need to be redone.

By the way, about the troop compartment. It looks like motorized riflemen are sitting in it blind, deaf and without the ability to fire while in the car (which in the Arctic would be an undoubted advantage). Also a mess. After all, the car is declared as an armored personnel carrier, and this is already a different class of equipment than just military vehicles, to which the previous models of "Knights" belonged. This is already military equipment for transporting motorized infantry and it should also be equipped accordingly.
In addition, instead of the aft door, there must be a ramp with an emergency exit door mounted in it. In addition, it would be nice to make exits from the sides, as well as equip the landing compartment according to this principle:

In this machine, much attention is paid to the equipment of the landing squad. Pay attention to the equipment of the exits for the landing, the illumination of the internal space (it is not necessary to keep the emergency lighting on around the clock, which is difficult to overestimate in the conditions of the Arctic with its long polar nights).
In addition, it is for operation in the Arctic conditions that such a machine must be equipped with mandatory autonomous life support systems (heating, HLF, power supply), autonomous navigation and long-range communications.
Because the Arctic is a large space where there are practically no people, no housing. Only the endless tundra and wildlife. And for fighters, this car may be the only shelter.

The project of creating such an armored vehicle based on the Vityaz is generally good, but requires serious and more thorough study.
In such a form as it is presented at the exhibition in the form of a model, it is of little use for conducting military operations in the Arctic.

Need a car that will combine the qualities of an armored personnel carrier and an expeditionary all-terrain vehicle.

I will add that the hatches on the roof are in the first section, and in the second they must be present. It is simply necessary to change their locations so that they are convenient to use, if necessary.
After all, the machine will be used in places where there are many wetlands and deep snow, and if in the Arctic specifically it is also cracks in the ice, hidden air cavities under the ice, where you can fall through the very roof.

Here in such conditions all-terrain vehicles work in the Far North:
