Soldiers of the Armed Forces of the LC from the Brigade "Ghost" awarded medals "For Military Merit," the correspondent said PolitNavigatorwho visited the scene with acting brigade commander Yury Shevchenko.
The medal for the defenders of Novorossia was established at the suggestion of the deceased commander of the "Ghost" Alexey Brain. The awards made at one of the Ekaterinburg enterprises were delivered to Alchevsk on June 9.
The acting commander and chief of staff of the brigade, Yuri Shevchenko, on the same day held a meeting with the commanders, at which it was decided:
“The first medal is to award Aleksei Borisovich Brain (posthumously) and store it in the brigade’s museum.
In the future, to award the medal to the most distinguished fighters and brigade commanders directly in a combat situation (in the field, at the front) ”.
After that, the first 20 award packages were delivered to combat units based in the Kirovsk and Donetsk villages.
"We stand on the frontiers of the Fatherland, Russia is ours!"- said during the ceremony Shevchenko.
“After receiving the medal, the men answered:“ I serve Novorossia! ”,“ I serve Russia, Novorossia! ”,“ I serve the people of Novorossia! ”. When the award was presented, it was noticeable that it was often received by people who had not even served in the army before the war. This was evident both in their uniform and drill, and in the way they put their hands on the headdress, and in the way they responded to the commander’s congratulations, ”the reporter said in a report.
