In India, the "final launch" of the aircraft carrier Vikrant

On Thursday at the Indian enterprise Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL), the ceremony of “final launching” of the first aircraft carrier under construction in India, Vikrant, was held, the blog bmpd with reference to timesofindia.

In fact, this is the third conclusion of the ship from the dry dock. “For the first time, the ship hull was removed from the 29 December 2011 dock of the year for technological reasons in order to free the dock for the launch of a commercial vessel under construction. The second time the aircraft carrier was removed from the 12 August 2013 construction dock during the "baptism" ceremony, when it received the name Vikrant. Now, after the “final” launch, the ship will be completed afloat, ”the blogger writes.

The construction of the aircraft carrier began in 2008, the official groundbreaking ceremony took place in February 2009. The Russian company Nevskoye Design Bureau, as well as the Italian company Fincantieri, actively participated in the development of the project.

The construction itself was repeatedly interrupted and is being carried out with a large lag behind the schedule. The project cost during this time has increased significantly. The transfer of the Navy ship is scheduled for 2018. However, experts consider this period to be "too optimistic." In their opinion, the aircraft carrier will be transferred the fleet not earlier than 2020

Help bmpd: “Vikrant has a total displacement of 37,5 thousand tons, the longest length of 262 meters and the greatest width of 60 meters. The ship uses a springboard to take off aircraft. and should carry the air group in the composition of the MiG-29K / KUB, Naval Tejas fighters, the RLDN Ka-31 helicopters and anti-submarine helicopters (up to 20 fighters and 10 helicopters). The aerotechnical equipment, including aerofinishers, will be Russian-made. ”

You shouldn’t be so! We already had these projects in the 70s! And the current Kuznetsov is the 5th ship in the series. It just so happened that the money ran out and this is the saddest thing in this story!
But there is a positive! By 2030 they want to build a modern aircraft carrier. Well, one of the commanders of the Armed Forces said, but it will not be clear how it will be (

Well, shut up. For I mean that those who want to build, seek and find opportunities; those who are not are excuses. Cognac does not flow under a lying officer - and it is better to begin to understand this simple truth now than when it will be too late.

Rusich, I understood everything correctly. On my three-room Khrushchev in 56 squares, even if you sell it with me, my wife and children, an aircraft carrier cannot be built. Here I understand China .. silently work and create (copy, technology steal) .. The country is still poor .. (huge population) They like children, they’ll buy toys, they’ll break them and there’s no one to fix them too expensive .. I don’t understand these Indians .. gouging it for sure (even judging by their streets and their attitude to the materiel ..) .. Now they sniffed with amers .. They’ll throw like give drink! They’ll boil expensive toys and will incite them to China .... Well, okay, their right! hi

And you look at the map. On the accessibility of the ocean from the coast of India - compare with the accessibility of the ocean from the coast of Russia. And you will understand why India is building aircraft carriers, and Russia is not building. And why, when was the last time Russia began to build aircraft carriers, Russia itself (in the person of the USSR) suddenly collapsed. The construction of aircraft carriers is worth considering in two cases - if you are very dependent on the sea-ocean in economic terms, or when the refrigerator is clogged with red caviar and it's time to think about who else to squeeze what on far shores.

Even under the USSR, several centers for the transfer of technology to turkeys were built in India. One of them is in Hyderabat. It is gratifying to see that they, though without undue haste, but without shyness and collapse, are gradually moving forward. There are rich and smart people, and as for the crowds of beggars, you can’t beat the age-old caste right away.

It would be better if they bought steam catapults instead of a springboard from someone else, a more universal machine would have been then. And so ...
