Pope Francis called modern armed conflicts links of the Third World War
25
During his visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Pope Francis announced that the atmosphere of war hangs over the planet. Speaking before the flock in the capital of BiH Sarajevo, Francis noted that the individual conflicts on the planet are the links of the Third World War. Reports about it CNN.
Pope Francis:
There are forces in the world who want to do everything to inject the atmosphere of war. And this is done consciously. All these battles lead to the fact that people's lives are broken, thousands turn into refugees, cities are destroyed.
Francis held a mass at the stadium in Sarajevo, where tens of thousands of local residents gathered. The main leitmotif of the Mass is a call for reconciliation, regardless of political views, ethnicity or religious beliefs. In Bosnia and Herzegovina, the words of the Pope are very relevant, since the cities of this country still bear the marks of a civil war. It should be noted that BiH is a state where Muslims live predominantly.
Francis:
Even in our time, the desire for peace and the desire to consolidate peace face the reality of numerous armed conflicts affecting humanity. We have no right to forget our history. And today, dear brothers and sisters, the voice of God's people will go up from this city, the voice of all men and women, the voice of goodwill: there is no war!
