Zvezda Scientific Production Enterprise (NPP) has completed a series of factory tests of equipment and state testing of the means of rescue of pilots of a promising T-50 PAK FA aircraft, the newspaper reports MIC with reference to the press service of the United Aircraft Building Corporation (UAC).

“Now, not only the aircraft itself, its instruments and weapon systems, but also the new pilot's seat, helmet and anti-grip suit make it possible to achieve some of the best indicators of convenience and safety in the world”, Says the release.

“Some samples of T-50 pilot equipment are already being tested in flight. Moreover, our products exceed international requirements in a number of developments. ”- said the general director of the SPE Sergey Pozdnyakov.

According to the report, “Zvezda NPP specialists completed tests of a unified ZSH-10 safety helmet of a new generation, KM-36M oxygen mask, PPK-7 anti-overload suit, VKK-17 anti-overload suit, and KS-50 oxygen system.” Last year, state tests of the K-36D-5 ejection seat were completed.

In the T-50 seats can be adjusted to different sets of pilots. The adjustment system in comparison with previous samples has been significantly expanded. To “unload” the spine during flight, the angle of its installation is changed. Due to the use of modern materials, the chair became 20% lighter, and its lifespan increased to 30 years.

“The new set of high-altitude compensating equipment now provides for the rescue of the pilot when the cabin is depressurized at an altitude above 20 km. A no less important element of the life support system is the helmet. ZSH-10 weighs about 1,4 kg, which is 350 grams lighter than previous generation samples. The reduction in weight was due to a change in the material, ”the company said.

All previous models of helmets were made of heavier fiberglass, the basis of current materials - organoplastic.

“We synchronized a protective helmet with a variety of instruments that facilitate the work of the pilot. The ZSh-10 modular design allows, depending on the problem to be solved, to place equipment on it ”- said the head of the research complex NPP Gennady Schavelev.
