Fifth UN report on human rights violations in Ukraine. How many reports do you need more?
Today, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Zeid Raad Al Hussein presented the fifth report on the state of human rights in Ukraine. If a few days earlier, “human rights activists” from Human Rights Watch stated that "the violation of human rights in Ukraine is permissible, since the country has developed a difficult military situation," the UN representative was more categorical. It should be recalled that the HRW representative made her spineless statement in connection with the adoption in Ukraine of the law on Kiev’s refusal to fulfill international human rights obligations towards residents of “certain regions of Donetsk and Lugansk regions”.
Al Hussein noted that in Ukraine for the period 16 of February to 15 of May of the current year, despite all the words about the signing of an armistice between the conflicting parties, there were multiple violations of human rights.

The report focuses on the work of the press in Ukraine. The report contains materials in which the UN is concerned about the fact that entry into Ukraine over the past few months has been closed for another five Russian journalists.
As already noted, this is the fifth such UN report. And, presumably, he will have no influence on the Ukrainian side, just like the four previous ones. If so, this will be another proof, to put it mildly, of the rather strange role of the UN in resolving contemporary conflicts. In fact, this is not even the role of a secondary plan ... Even with a reduction in hostilities, civilians continue to die and be injured. We have recorded alarming reports of quick executions (without following normal legal procedures) by armed groups and are studying similar accusations against the Ukrainian armed forces.
