Children of Donbass against the war
On the night of May 19, several districts of Donetsk came under heavy artillery bombardment from the side of ukrokrateli. From powerful blows, the windows shook even in houses located in the center. Many residents of the city excitedly informed each other that, just in case, they got up from their beds and got dressed so that they could quickly run away to the bomb shelter. “There were no such attacks since winter itself,” people said.
Ironically, from Kiev junta Kiev district of Donetsk suffers the most. The hits are also recorded in the Kuibyshev district. On the street Listoprokatchikov in the Kiev area residential buildings are damaged. From under the wreckage of one of them removed the torn body of an elderly man. A woman was injured - a resident of the same house. She, the wounded, was also taken out from under the ruins.
Representatives of the OSCE visited the site of the tragedy and coldly recorded the shelling. They noted that it was produced by Avdeevka and Opytny - the places under the control of the Ukrainian "military" (that is, the executioners). The incident was condemned by the press secretary of the president of Russia Dmitry Peskov, calling it a violation of the Minsk agreements.
More and more often the junta violates these very agreements - the “truce” is loudly banging outside the windows of the houses of Donbass ... Those who trampled the Great Victory and turned 9 May into a humiliating show for veterans want bloodline.
One of the answers of the residents of Donbass to war is spiritual resistance, in which even children take part. Evidence of this is the exhibition of children's drawings “Life through the eyes of the children of Donbass”, held at the N. Krupskaya Republican Scientific Library with the support of the “We” volunteer organization.
Young residents of Donetsk and the surrounding cities too clearly see their connection for what they were about between what it was during the Great Patriotic War and what is happening these days. The terrible phrase "children of war" today - and about them ... Many of them were sitting in cellars, suffered hunger and deprivation. But they, like adults, are not broken, as their drawings directly say.
Many works are devoted to the Great Patriotic War, about which the guys read in books and watched in movies.
On one of the drawings is a red angel with a sickle and a hammer flying to protect the city from enemy hordes.
And suddenly, what they read about in books, watched in films and listened to school lessons, what the school evenings devoted and what the adults said on memorable dates became a daily reality ...
Most of the works - it is literally a children's cry: “Peace! No war!"
Who would have thought that the author of this shrill, unchildish poster was only 8 years old?
And here - a small artist compared the building of the Donetsk airport before the war with the ruins that remained from him now.
The current children of war are wise beyond their years.
Each of these guys now has their own war.
But their drawings show hope for a better future for Novorossia.
“We cry every time when we look at these pictures,” one of the library staff members told me.
No one knows when the junta will once again break the truce and who will be its new victim. But after the shelling, residents of Donetsk gather for concerts and poetry evenings. And children paint the world and protest against ukronasilii.
And who could have guessed that the old Soviet slogan “Peace to the World” would once again become so topical and filled with such pain?
And personally, I would very much like these drawings of children with twisted childhood to be seen by Messrs. Poroshenko, Yatsenyuk, Tymoshenko, Avakov, as well as their external patrons - Obama, Nuland, McCain and many others. Let them see these tragic works right now or later - in the courtroom, where they will be held a fair trial for war crimes in the Donbas.
