Turkey is building a universal landing ship on the program Havuzlu ıkarma Gemisi (LPD)

32
From 5 to 8 in May, the International Defense Industry Fair 2015 (IDEF-2015) took place in Istanbul, during which the Defense Industry Department of the Turkish Defense Ministry and the Turkish shipbuilding company Sedef Gemi İnşaatı Sanayii A.Ş signed a contract providing for the design and construction of a universal landing craft ( UDC) on the program Havuzlu Çıkarma Gemisi (LPD) worth 1.4 billion dollars to the 2021 year, reports blog Center for Analysis of Strategies and Technologies.

The Havuzlu Çıkarma Gemisi (LPD) program, launched in 2006, provides for the construction of one UDC for the Turkish fleet and the use of two small LCVP landing craft, four LCM tank landing craft, and 27 AAV amphibious tracked armored personnel carriers.

In February, 2010, the Department of Defense Industry, invited seven shipbuilding companies to take part in a tender: ADIK, Çelik Tekne, Dearsan Shipyard, Desan Shipyard, RMK Marine, Sedef and Naval Shipyard in Istanbul.

The final competition list was compiled in May 2011. It includes Sedef I, RMK Marine and Desan Shipyard.

The total displacement of the future UDC is 27.5 thousand tons, and the length of the hull is 231 m, which makes it the largest warship in stories Turkish Navy.

No, just the gate to the Black Sea and the "Turkish gambit" should be guarded by more than one of our powerful fleet, so, for the future ...

You are right there is nothing except that it is outdated, but the Turks will have to fight on the islands there are many of them. For this, UDKA like Juan Carlos is needed. In the plans they had two of them for one island.
            The Greeks have two Bison
True, the Turks still wanted to build a Roterdam-type carriage from 4

That's what is unlikely to happen ... The Turks do not need war, they need hegemony in the Mediterranean Sea, for which monsters like Juan Carlos stuffed with F-35B are needed ...
PS: Although the Turks were not allowed into the European Union, but much depends on Europe in Turkey, why should it quarrel?

When the war begins, it will be ready late. So you need to think in advance, the region is so unstable.

Not quite so, only if in the form of taxes from hotel owners, and even then, before the crisis, we were in fourth place in terms of the number of tourists.
I’m more interested in how many people wrote in Turkish forums, such as ours, - Why do we need this barge, With whom we will fight, its ice will crush and it is not suitable for the heat .... - I think less than ours.

Yes, something is doubtful. Most likely the Spaniards will build a housing at home, and the Turks themselves will finish it. In general, as Australians.

Mediterranean Sea - butting with the Israelis as it was a couple of years ago with the "humanitarian flotilla", well, or flexing their muscles in the Caspian. It is just that the presence of this type of ship in a probable theater of operations will play a big role and will be taken into account when planning something elsewhere.

    These are now the UDC)))
But in reality, Turkey is trying to become a very regional leader - and in the modern world, without projecting power, they cannot become. And projecting forces without the support of ground forces (in this case, landing forces) is already unlikely. All conflicts are resolved by an infantryman. As Comrade Lenin said Half measures are worse than inaction.

Turkey is getting ready to become a key player in the Middle East. The question is how much she will be able to solve the problem in Syria, and therefore with Russia. But to make Libya a second Turkmenistan for her. True, one boat will not be enough.

Well, the Germans were expected to go around with their project and choose Juan Carlos, file-processed. The springboard is useful to them for the F-35, which Turkey is not just 100 pieces ordered, and participates in regional cooperation on the project (collects components).

And yes, the only maritime power with at least regional ambitions that does not have and does not build / order this class of ships is Russia.

We must not forget about the 13th district (gas field) near Cyprus, Cyprus itself and the Jewish warriors with eternal greed and the opportunity to get into the gas production from the Greeks.

Then the Swedes decided to scare away our submarines with luminous advertising posters with pederastic propaganda. We must ask the defenders to embed glass observation windows in our submarines. And then such beauty disappears in vain. Fish will stop reproducing after watching European advertising.

This one in the Mediterranean Sea will mainly defend the interests of Turkey in the region. Vaughn Erdogan recently cursed and threatened Libya Haftar with a tough military response, for shelling a Turkish cargo ship with the death of 2 Turkish citizens. Plus, put pressure on Greece.
