It would be strange if there would be another result after Georgian hail. Apparently, there are many sensible people in Ossetia.

      Vox populi - vox Dei!

How much screech will rise if they join! And how many problems will be. Well they will ask for restoration.

You Banshee know my position - it is necessary to revive the Union (or the Empire - call it what you want)

And the Ossetians showed themselves to be courageous, militant and OUR people - they have always been for Russia - at least tsarist though Soviet

Let them not have oil like the Kazakhs and no industry like the Belarusians — but they will not be superfluous in our fraternity — that’s for sure — just like the Abkhaz. They will strengthen our position in the Caucasus and will always be with us in difficult times - shoulder to shoulder

Ossetians set up production of baked vodka.
The population (qualifications below average) is about 20 thousand people.
The economy is based on subsidies from the Russian budget and drank it.
LCN - "especially loved" both in Russia and the CIS. (do you want an Ossetian neighbor? I don't)

Plus one - a splinter in the ass of Saakashvili.

Pindos recognize the poll is not valid, in the words of the representative from the OSCE. The organization, which from the beginning, should be happy for peace in Europe!

Well, against the background of subsidies to Chechnya, I think Ossetia is not against joining. We must really see what are the conditions, what they want.

And I want to believe and believe with difficulty.
By the way, the opinion of the people is not the opinion of their leadership.
The people are simpler - the Russians came to the rescue - thanks, but we must remember that the Ossetians themselves fought as best they could.

I just don’t believe the large numbers of votes (it reminds the Central Election Commission passed 100% - FOR), though it is possible in the case with South Ossetia.

And the Russian soldier - there was represented including Chechen units. (A rare positive mention, isn’t it? But all the same, I’m happy that we can do something else as great-grandfathers ... To release, for example ...)

It’s just the general confidence of the Russians - that we definitely helped there, and not how the Pindos brought democracy.

Peace - to the Ossetian people ...
And if their leadership does what the people want, they will be happy.

All Caucasians know that Ossetians were oppressed when they were part of Georgia. Many Ossetians, those who lived in Georgia, even changed the endings of their surnames to Georgian, so as not to stand out ...

oppressed - not the right word. in 1983 he was visiting his friend - Mingrelian in Kutaisi. and accidentally got into a conversation with an elderly woman. it turned out - Ossetian. Of course, I happily told her that my maternal grandfather was Ossetian. (honestly) What she said to me is good, but you just better not say THAT about it. I understand that for the "Great Kartvels", that Abkhazians and Mingrelians, that Ossetians are all second-class people. I even then for the first time heard the theme "but if Hitler had won" and you can guess from whom ...

There will be another "black hole" sucking the money, they were already given billions to recover after 080808, everything has resolved somewhere, tens of thousands of people left without housing, and the local elite have palaces and property in Sochi.

And I heard that Georgia once also joined Russia, since the Turks slaughtered half of their population, but the Russian Empire drove the Turks out. If something else were wrong, now there are no surnames like Saakoshvili in nature.

to tell you the truth, then there was no Georgia as such. but there were khanates (or principalities) - Kartli, Svan, and a whole bunch more. And about the way, Kartliyskiy even managed to give the oath to Alexei Mikhailovich (the father of Peter the Great), as he did not rest. Well, now - of course the bad Russians enslaved freedom-loving Georgia!

Russia repeats its story from the Ruriks all the lands and peoples that are now part of it were annexed voluntarily seeking protection from our tsars. This multiplied and strengthened the Russian state, and any association was considered a victory, to the envy of other khanates and the west.

Good comments VALENOK and Motherland! I support!

The Russian empire has always had an entity different from the Western colonial empires - this was its strength! The peoples voluntarily came into it and Russia built the attitude of the world and not capture and coercion (in most cases).

This is because the main peoples of Russia and the USSR have always been imperial peoples - belonged to the Eurasian world (and not to Chinese or Islamic civilization)

And the peoples both in tsarist Russia and in the USSR were equal - no one "oppressed" anyone - I would even say the opposite - there was some "burden" on the main people of the empire - the Russians

in any case, it is up to the Ossetians to decide whether or not to join Russia, I remember the government said so a while ago.

In fact, if people want to visit us, why not?

How much can you throw allies? even small. the river begins with the fontanel, if that.

But they are parasites or not - time will tell. In any case, Ossetia and Abkhazia - this is the BORDER. And the frontier is serious. Especially if there are those abroad, from which you don’t have to wait for anything positive.

You should not be overwhelmed with money, yes, but wait until all the internal problems are solved either. While we decide, there will be no people willing to be friends.
