In Rovno, the Central Artillery Base is actively working to restore artillery weapons for the army involved in the ATO, the blog reports bmpd with reference to the message of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
The base was given the task of putting the APU around the 250 of the restored art guns, of which 90 had already been transferred to the troops. Work on the remaining tools "is in the final stages."
Judging by the photos attached to the release, “the old Soviet 85-mm towed guns D-44, 85-mm anti-tank guns D-48 and 152-mm towed howitzers D-20 are being restored in Rovno,” the blogger notes.
The value of a caliber less than 100 mm is that it is not prohibited by the Minsk agreements.
In a press release, the process of restoring guns is described as follows: “Restoration of one gun lasts up to 5 days depending on the technical condition. We carry out a full service cycle, in particular, at the first stage, the re-entry is carried out (cleaning of conservation materials). The second step is to carry out the detection of the product in the assembled form (technical parameters are checked with the help of special instruments and tools with the definition of ways to eliminate the identified faults). During the third stage, if necessary, the gun is disassembled into the main components and mechanisms for testing the latter, eliminating the detected faults and re-checking the technical parameters. After the restoration work, the gun is tested with a single and hydraulic shot. At the penultimate stage of the repair, the product is cleaned and washed after the test, the application of a protective coating (painting, phosphating). The final stage of repair is the application of stencils, conservation, the installation of a single spare parts kit at regular places, filling in documentation. ”
