Gottemyuller: State Department is puzzled by Lavrov's remarks on the NPT

68
The State Department did not agree with Sergey Lavrov’s argument that the deployment of Washington’s tactical nuclear weapons (TNW) in Europe is a violation of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT), the newspaper Look with reference to US Under Secretary of State Rose Gottemoeller.

Gottemyuller: State Department is puzzled by Lavrov's remarks on the NPT

"Throughout the existence of the NPT, as well as including the period of its preparation at the end of 1960-s," neither the USSR nor the Russian Federation did not raise the question in this way, Gottemoeller said at a press conference.

“The issue of nuclear weapons that the US is deploying as part of its extended deterrence obligations to protect NATO allies has never been mentioned as a violation of the NPT by either the Soviet Union or Russia until now,” she said. “Therefore we are puzzled.”

According to a State Department spokesman, "the question of the availability of American nuclear weapons in Europe was, of course, discussed during the negotiation of the NPT, and the archives clearly show that the United States clearly communicated its arguments to the USSR."

She explained that “American tactical nuclear weapons in Europe are not shared in one way or another with NATO allies, they actually remain under the operational control of the United States,” and therefore “there is absolutely no violation of the obligations of non-nuclear states in which the US tactical nuclear forces are located” under the Treaty.

“I have to say what confuses why this issue has arisen now,” the Under-Secretary of State said. “The United States intends to state clearly and unambiguously its arguments about Russia regarding both the period of the development of the NPT and its implementation, as well as their bewilderment about why this question arises now.”

The newspaper reminds that on Wednesday, Sergey Lavrov said that Washington was violating the provisions of the NPT, which expressed the deployment of tactical nuclear weapons "on the territory of five European states."

“This is a very serious risk for the Non-Proliferation Treaty, and we do not believe that the security of our country should be ensured by transferring our nuclear arsenals somewhere else,” the Foreign Minister noted.

She says that nuclear weapons are under the operational control of the United States, but how she will comment on the fact that NATO member countries conduct exercises on the use of these weapons. Russia also needs to train bombing tactical nuclear charges within the CSTO Air Force of Belarus and Kazakhstan.

In the past, due to such a deployment of tactical nuclear weapons in Cuba, there was a serious aggravation of relations between the USA and the USSR, it went down in history as the "Caribbean Crisis".
Is the Caribbean crisis happening today on the contrary?

Not certainly in that way. The aggravation arose due to the deployment of American RSD with UBC in Turkey.
Our RSD in Cuba was only a consequence of the appearance of "Jupiters" near Izmir.

No, then we specially deployed missiles in Cuba in response to the deployment of nuclear missiles in Turkey. This was done to compensate for the threat, to make them feel the same danger that we feel.

“Anadyr” is the code name for the secret operation of the General Staff of the USSR Armed Forces in order to covertly deliver and deploy army units and subunits on the island of Cuba with nuclear weapons, including atomic aerial bombs, medium-range ballistic missiles, and tactical missiles “Moon ”,“ Sopka ”and“ front-line cruise missiles ”with attached atomic warheads.

Russia has long had to withdraw from this treaty, it only serves the US benefit and is detrimental to the defense capability of the Russian Federation ... It is necessary not only to urgently conduct an audit of the TNW that remains of the USSR (if it still remains, and the terms of operation / use have already passed, probably), but also to develop and produce new nuclear weapons. ONLY TNW is primarily dangerous for Europe, and not strategists !!!
Otherwise, in case of need, strategists in Europe will have to shoot somewhere from near Novosibirsk, and this is increased flight time ... And so, having tactical nuclear weapons, consider - you shoot point blank ...

And as for the Europeans, this is essentially a de facto colony of mattresses and deploying TNW on its territory, they sit on the "nuclear frog" to get up from which later they can no longer without consequences for their European priests.
