Unfinished IL-76 continue the journey to Taganrog

28
Blog bmpd already wrote about the ongoing operation to deliver from the Tashkent Mechanical Plant to Taganrog OJSC aviation G.M. Beriev Scientific and Technical Complex ”(TANTK) of two unfinished IL-76 transporters, intended for completion at the Taganrog enterprise as AWACS aircraft and A-50EI control for the Indian Air Force. Delivery began in October last year by motor transport of the Russian company SV Trans.

Unfinished IL-76 continue the journey to Taganrog

Land transport delivered unfinished gliders to the port of Aktau (formerly Shevchenko, Kazakhstan), from where they were transported by sea to Astrakhan and then to the Volga-Don Canal.

A barge approached the canal in November, when navigation was already closed. In this regard, the delivery was interrupted, and resumed only this spring.

A colleague of the aaz38aaz blogger, who worked on the towing vehicle from Aksai to Azov, writes: “The towing is carried out by two tugs, one pulls at the short end, the other pushes — it steers and adds traction. Gateways pass in two steps - first a barge and one tug, then the second tug (or vice versa). All together do not enter the gateway chamber. For a long time they stood, because strong winds did not allow to pass safely. In the port of Azov for three hours anchored normally. First, the anchor of the barge crawled, and carried the barge along the shoal with the pusher ”.

In Azov, the barge will stand for about a week, as Taganrog is not yet ready to accept the cargo.

It’s interesting, and with what kind of motor transport was the physical body originally transported?

Unique transportation of IL-76 TD aircraft by a convoy of 14 road trains to a distance of more than 3 km from Tashkent (Uzbekistan) through Kazakhstan to Taganrog (Russia).

Brothers for what are the cons?)
They gathered to build long-range radar detection aircraft on these aircraft for the Indian Air Force. Therefore, there was a question. But Russia does not need such aircraft? In my opinion, we have only 2 of them.

        We have 3 of them. A-50U, and 15 pcs. A-50 + 4 in storage ...
Now the A-50 is being upgraded to the A-50U level, and in parallel, work is underway on the A-100 "example" ...
That is, there is something to work on (to modernize), on which it will be based, it has not yet been decided ...
Why not make money on export?

Difficult operation. Still in the Don did not get stuck in traffic. The beginning of navigation - everyone is in a hurry, everyone needs it.
And what kind of packaging has been produced. Airbuses, in my opinion, are transported naked. And here the whole fuselage is shrouded

IL-476 has not yet passed the State Tests, therefore, not the A-100 (for which, by the way, there is no antenna yet), but a prototype with mass dimensions, TESTS will go. It’s too early to talk about the launch of the aircraft in the series, do not rush things, this is a bad omen ...

The greed of our businessmen led to the fact that the IL-76 aircraft, which the Chinese had ordered at the time in the amount of about 70 units, began to be made not in Voronezh, but in Tashkent. They lost the contract, lost their reputation, lost the production of IL-114, but they rebuilt their houses in Europe and raised the production of Boeing.

Absolutely, ours didn’t even participate in the tender recourse

India has chosen the A330 as the platform of a promising heavy aircraft for long-range radar detection and control (AWACS).

According to Indian media reports, two aircraft will be purchased for testing the radar complex (the amount of this contract may be 750 million euros), then six will go to the Air Force.

      about the cost
India previously received 3 aircraft AWACS and U under a contract from 2004, whose value amounted to $ 1,1 billion. The cars were equipped with radar systems IAI Elta EL / W-2090 and engines PS-90A-76. Aircraft with serial numbers 94-02, 94-03 and 94-04 were delivered to the Indians in 2008-2010.

The Hindus liked it, they wanted another 9, they found while 2.
cost is unlikely to change much. Tashkent is not greedy.

according to TANTK them. G.M.Berieva is the LAST alteration of the "old" IL-76
