A gift to Kiev from the founders of democracy: the Greek defense minister called the Ukrainian government a fascist
98
Greek Defense Minister Panos Kammenos in an interview with the online edition Gazeta.ru commented on the events in Ukraine, calling the Ukrainian government fascist. Kammenos was asked to comment on how freely the ethnic Greeks living on the territory of Ukraine felt and feel in the context of the situation with the Crimea. The Greek minister, who attended the Moscow International Security Conference, gave the following comment:
The Greek population in Crimea was attacked by the fascist government of Ukraine, and the presence of Russian forces became protection for Greek families there. We have a common church, we believe in the same values, and it was simply impossible not to protect the Greeks from the fascist government of Ukraine.
At the same time, Kammenos added that Greece actively supports the abolition of anti-Russian sanctions, with which Brussels and Washington are trying to maintain their imaginary leadership in the modern world.
Such words of the Greek minister were not left unattended in the West and in the Ukraine tearing towards the West. For example, the NATO Secretary General announced that a visit to Moscow by the head of the Greek military department is “a game with fire”. Ukrainian blogs and social networks are completely frozen, eventually bursting into abuse at Kammenos.
