The joint operational exercise “Shield of the Union-2011” was held from September 16 to 22, 2011 under the leadership of the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces - First Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic of Belarus and the Commander of the Western Military District of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
