NORAD Command Center Returns to Cheyenne Anti-Atom Bunkers in US

Information Agency France-Press reports that in the US they are preparing to "reanimate" the full-fledged work of the "anti-nuclear" complex in Cheyenne Mountain, which was once actively used. The head of the North American aerospace defense command said that the command post NORAD would be returned to this complex, which partially continued to function.
AFP quotes the head of NORAD, William Gortney, explaining the decision to move the command post as follows:
The Bunker in Cheyenne is perfectly protected from an electromagnetic pulse. The main difficulty in locating the personnel of the command post in the conditions that exist in the anti-nuclear complex.
For about 10 years, Cheyenne bunkers (Colorado) have been used for training events and sheltering the NORAD emergency command post. The main command of the US-Canadian forces of the East Kazakhstan region was located on aviation Peterson base (also Colorado). A full-fledged version of the functioning of the complex took place from the 1960s to the beginning of the 2000s.
The complex in Cheyenne is located under a mountain at a depth of about 600 meters, and therefore it is considered inaccessible even for new types of nuclear weapons.
Apparently, the States, along with the resuscitation of the complex in Cheyenne, will have to select the medal "For the Victory in the Cold War" from the awarded ...
