The deputies of the State Duma by an overwhelming majority decided to remove parliamentary immunity from the deputy Ilya Ponomarev, who still represents the Fair Russia faction. For the deprivation of parliamentary immunity of Mr. Ponomarev, as a deputy from the Novosibirsk region having a great time in the United States, voted 438 deputies. On the results of voting on Twitter reports Alexander Khinshtein:
As can be seen from the presented frame, 1 people abstained from voting and another one voted against.
It should be recalled that the Russian Prosecutor General’s Office had previously appealed to the State Duma with a request to deprive Ilya Ponomarev of parliamentary immunity. The State Duma of the Russian Federation, after the decision of the State Duma, will institute a criminal case on the fact of fraud in the Skolkovo innovation fund regarding the “people's choice”. According to prosecutors, Ponomarev caused damage to the fund in the amount of 22 million rubles. As you know, Ponomarev gave lectures at the price of about 350 thousand dollars in the Skolkovo Foundation and prepared a certain scientific work for 450 thousand dollars, not even having a higher education at that time. Ponomarev himself declares that he returned part of the funds.
While in the US, Ponomarev urged Washington to increase sanctions pressure on the Russian Federation, according to some data, helping to prepare lists of those citizens of the Russian Federation against whom personal sanctions should be imposed.
